I remember feeling weird and things just felt "off" that day. I was at work and remember my husband called me saying Prince passed. I was in shock and my life hasn't been the same since. The world just feels different now. He had/has such a positive influence on many of us. I will forever love and adore him. His music, lyrics, and wonderful performances are simply awesome. We were blessed with this genius! I thank God for P!!

Sharon Lofton, you know what, I understand how you feel/felt. After watching this video with Shelby J, a person we know knew Prince well....was the first time I cried. I needed to hear from her! Her explanation of how she felt that day, brought what had been bottled up for all this time.
The first song I heard of Prince was Controversy. I can still tell you where I was, and what I was doing. I can't tell you how many concerts I've attended over the years. Being a NC girl too; it was always a joy seeing Shelby J. Still listening to his music everyday!!!! Colonized Mind, Empty Room, Sometimes It Snows In April, Bambi, The Beautiful Ones.....omg, I could go on and on...miss him so much. There was nothing like watching them live. Shelby J, if you read this...the last time I saw you guys in Raleigh and Charlotte, when you guys sang "Cool/Ain't nobody Bad Like Me" That dance the two of you did to that, was everything!!! RIP Prince....your voice and music will never die!💜

I love Prince and Shelby SOOO much. I will never forget that day when I saw them both live in concert. September 24, 2012. The single greatest day of my life. When he passed it struck me so because I was one of the very few people that Shelby was speaking of. I always knew and loved Prince The Musician but Prince The Person IS who intensified my love for him 100,000,000,000,000,000% ! When I began not merely hearing but LISTENING to his lyrics, is when I became spiritually attached to this man. He became my mentor and guide musically (I'm a musician) and spiritually. I am a better person because he lived. No, I never personally knew him in this life, but when I saw him in person he and I connected on a much higher spiritual level. I felt him and in some way I know that he felt me. As he would put it, there was indeed a "New Power" in the room on that night. It's impossible for me to suppress the feeling of loss and sometimes emptiness that I have felt since I lost him, but almost as quickly as my spirits fall, the calm assurance of the almighty God comforts me. On that day his will was done, not mine, but his. I know that I will see my Prince again on that day when I too am called home. Until that faithful day may my darling Prince rest in eternal peace. Shelby is a very real Genuine person,who P loved and trusted completely..She says he really open up,and felt the need to share with her many things he never talk about before, beginning in January 2016..she believed he knew his time here was limited..

Prince's music will always be a part of my life, he was truly a free artist who shared a part of himself to the many who listened; the power of his gift has influenced, cultures, societies, and individuals with freedom of expression...he will be missed.

Ms. Shelby J. was obviously so very close to Prince..It was so exciting to watch them on stage together,,the most amazing to see..The bond they had showed when they were on stage makes me feel so happy..She is great with showing there friendship in the welcome to America tour..EVERY day i watch that. I have to, love ms. Shelby J.

She said , that she felt something was wrong with Prince that morning. Then that same day she found out he was dead. I wish she would had spoken more about that. Maby Shelby knows more than she is telling. Maby she knew he was sick. Or in the danger zone with drugs.

Come on Shelby you know Prince was dying from an illness. Stop it! Tell the truth why would you want everyone around the world to believe he was a drug addict. He was a clean living, intelligent man and was no addict.

I'm a Prince fanatic, when he was a teenager, I was a teenager and for me he was always true to himself. As a teenager he wrote and sang about things that teenage boys go through and think about (SEX) but as we got older the music he wrote and sang got more mature as well. I know his work on this earth was done and when you're finished giving of yourself and your time, doing everything God has put in your life. God says " Job well done, time to come home." My Mom passed away 5/28/11, when Prince died I was hurt that I would never again see him perform on stage on TV. That night my Mom came to me in a dream, she said " hurry up, your going to miss him " My Mother took me to the baddest concert I have ever been to, It was Prince; everything had a purple hue to it. The songs I remember him singing was Erotic City, the uncut raw version, Soft and Wet, 1999 and before I woke up Purple Rain. I thanked my Mom and God for giving me such a beautiful way to see him transition.

No disrespect intended. But I never liked Shelby singing with Prince because her voice always over powered princes voice. I couldn't hear Prince sing when she sang. Prince seemed to hand the microphone over to her to much. I'm sorry for Shelby's loss . I believe she is sincere with her love for Prince as her real friend. It must of been really deep hurt for her when he died. She said such cool stuff about Prince. Nice lady , classy and sincere......I wonder what she meant by Prince was into numbers ? She said number 7 was his number. Doesn't numerology go against his religion.?????
