You can tell he actually wants love at the start but something bad happens each time he looks for it. In the pokemon heartful thing at 1:58 he doesn't know how to act when he sees love anymore which leads to him knocking everyone else down (race part) until at the final one where at that point he doesn't want love and decides to destroy the heart leaving him empty.
1:22 as soon as he goes for the heart, he gets ambushed.
1:31 and 1:36 when he opens up the heart doors, he's only met with more enemies
The low hp symbolism is crazy. How he reaches for the heart every level/game but he "can't get the love he needs anymore" and how he needs it now more than ever. Genius

Like recently my friendship with some people I look up to and respect was tested. I had lied to them a while ago and I finally came clean about it, and I felt so broken and undeserving of their friendship.

My interpretation. The love in question developed naturally, like a wildflower. Two people were hanging out with each other and one day realized they're in love. But when that love fell apart, they didn't know how to start looking for someone else, so they get scared/confused whenever someone shows any interest in them.

Well, It's been over 2 years since this song came out... And it's STILL a head-banger of a song. Well done.👍
I feel like the song isn’t only about a break up. But a break up caused by fear. Skull guy wants love but doesn’t know how to accept it, not necessarily commitment issues, just anxiety over wrong choices. Like how in a Pokemon segment, ‘Talk’ was an option but after stressing over what to choose he ran away. Or in the dating sim when someone was interested in him all of his dialogue options were negative and he ended up running again.
Look at the bubble game at 2:44 he tried to play the game but when he made a wrong move and saw the bubbles getting closer he panics and ends up losing the game for himself.
It all may be more related to social anxieties and not being able to express yourself, and what you mean, the way you want to. And in turn not having good connections. Or “the love you need”
I think the devil heart at 1:16 represents toxic relationships im sure someone can make something out of that

I like your angle, but I would argue that this song is more based on a post-break up scenario where skull guy struggles to get over a past love (the final heart). In the LOZ arena, he encounters a number of heart shaped objects (leaves, rocks, etc.), but nothing can fill the void in his hearts. The few times he gets a chance, he quickly panics and attempts to make a move before being overrun by the scenario

I can't stop listening to this song. This song literally predicted what happened to me. Like, it was released in early august, and in the late august, the person who I loved for a long time just said that she doesn't like me anymore. Although I didn't even had a chance to discuss my feelings to her. And I feel almost like this character, lost in the world, trying to find the new love and forget about the failed past, but just messing up all the time, and in result find nothing. As a person who used to date somebody toxic, this song is DEFINITELY what the aftermath of a breakup looks like.
The fact that movies and people glamorize "moving on" and getting the f up, is so frustrating to me. It's not Easy to just "move on" and be alright the next few days. Cuz not only are you left behind by that person, you're Also Traumatized by the fact that the next relationship is gonna end up similarly to that.
The lines from "I am lost in a dream, I can't open my eyes, Never told how to live after I say goodbye to you..." is also one problem when it comes to breakups. You'd feel jaded, lost in the fact that you feel like you're unlovable and knowing that it's not possible to achieve something like that anymore. In turn, you feel stuck in this limbo where you "don't know what it is that you're searching for". It's actually pretty interesting how TLT and the animators used videogames as an example to point out the message of this song.
Overall, I'm actually very happy and shocked that for once, someone showed an even more accurate reality of how it actually feels to not be able to get on with life that easily due to a traumatic love experience. TLT- you're a long-time artist that I've followed, ever since your first song of FNAF and I hope you continue to make more music- You never fail to amaze me along with your teams and colleagues out there.

What's not inserted is your family telling you it was always going to be that way because she was married and you had no business being in open relationship. This song hit me in the feels really hard. I was raised by a narcissist, so this song made me think of the man I called Dad before he disowned me for standing up for myself. It took so much out of me to stand up for myself against him, but I'm better off without him. Still stings, though, and always will since I unfortunately still love him.

This song has really been resonating with me recently. I went through my first breakup a few months ago and it was only after I left them that I realised how emotionally dependent I had become. I loved being with them, it made me happier than I ever had been before. I had convinced myself fully that we were going to be forever, so when I left it felt like the future I had hoped for just faded before my eyes. It makes you wonder if there will be some big climax of characters meeting or something, maybe an entity is possessing these people relating to how all of them share the cracked skull somewhere on their person. The TLT comprehensive universe is very interesting

actually this was based off of many games, doom, spooky's mansion, um kirby's dreamland maybe?, pokemon, crash bandicoot, the bubble popping mobile games, visual novels, angery birds, asteroid, zelda, some more. most very good games, i recommend them if you want some older games that still hold up today

Can we talk about how good the animation in this video is ? Its absurd that everything looks like it exists (besides what it references duh). I must know how long this took to make like...holy crap. that must be weeks or months of designing.

Certainly my favorite song from you, it's such a good song, great to rock out with. I love the inner messages in the video the lyrics are really good everything about this song is just so good
When I first heard this song, I absolutely loved it and kept hitting replay. The more I listened though, the more I heard the lyrics, the more I felt them. To me the lyrics speak of someone who left a relationship that wasn't right, despite both parties trying to make it work and neither being ready to let go. Everyone else told the person to move on but it's not so easy to find someone new nor is it easy to go without the love you knew. It hurts how much I can relate to what I hear right now but I still love the song, it is absolutely beautiful no matter the interpretation of it.
