- The first part of the Mulgore gameplay mini-series, in which I am trying to recreate every player's starting, focusing on simplicity. Like it was back in the days.
Character name: Rainwhispers (level 1-7)
Race: Tauren Male (Horde)
Class: Shaman
Zone: Mulgore (WoW Classic / Vanilla)
Quest hubs in: Camp Narache and Bloodhoof Village
Questing areas: Red Cloud Mesa, Brambleblade Ravine, Thunderhorn Water Well and The Golden Plains

Listening to this now as an adult while I work on spreadsheets and stats for work, man this makes for some amazing and relaxing nostalgia therapy for sure. Taking me back to the days when I was young and much more carefree and just quested in the game.
Thank you for this, it's definitely getting me through this, and I imagine many more stressful work days ahead.

Bal'a dash, Malanore. Please continue this series, i'd love to revisit all the zones this way. I can't play WoW anymore due to RL troubles (gotten older and chronically ill) and i quit when WoD was brought out. I returned for very short stints after but i never got into it again due to my illness. This way i can actually sit back and enjoy the actual WoW sounds again, the music, ambience, npc's talking, footsteps etc. Great! Al Diel Shala

i dont even know anymore and i hope you're seeing this: the floating numbers.. was this how the combat text was back then? i just cant recall despite playing back then haha
The floating numbers were bigger and took even more space from your screen. I made them smaller and on one side.
There are gameplays where I hide that completely.

How did you get these high up camera angles? Like here at 1:22:54 for example
I loved classic. I couldn't stand the outdated view distance though. The fog looks terrible (It's not so bad in Mulgore) and mobs popping up right in front of you was annoying.
Was something which was designed for a normal performance of our microwave-like computers. And now it is part of the legacy.
Mobs popping up right in front? Maybe you are referring to the dynamic respawns? I personally find the 90 / 120 yards view not too problematic unless you are encountering fast moving patrols.
