*Thank you all so much for watching!* _I have the BEST subscribers!_
You have got to be the best teacher for explaining how to use Lightburn that I have ever seen and also how to properly use you laser.
Wow! Thank you so much! I appreciate the comment!
Rich, Draz here from your forums, you are one of the best teachers I have ever listened to, I'm a noob to this with 4 months of owning my laser , your videos help me greatly, thank you..
Glad to help Darryl, glad to see you here!
Of course Rich, I’ll be here until the end. I’m loving this teaching side of you. When you talk, it’s not a monotone voice and that alone keeps me watching. Your teaching technique is very good by the way you do the teaching a couple times so if we minutely missed something, we will catch it the second time. Keep them coming, I’m learning more with every video
Thank you so much Steve! I really appreciate it! 👍
Rich, I think I have the circular array tool figured out. That tool does NOT like to work on my laptop so I got a desktop. Works like it’s supposed to. The more I listen to you the smarter you become!!! 😊
Wow! Thank you so much! I appreciate the comment! Laptops don't play well with Lightburn...
Thanks Rich for all the videos you do. I wouldn't be as far into my laser journey without them. I watch as many of them as I can, when I can and there's nothing wrong with a little bit of self promotion lol. All your loyal supporters will totally understand. So please keep it all going as you are mate. All the best from Australia
Awesome, thank you Martin!
I still would like to see videos on how you go about making different things. I do like this new format I learn a lot. There so much to learn. just keep doing what you do best TEACH us.
I try Don!
A mix of reviews, project and education, heavy on the educational would be great. Very few presenters educate the basics anymore and that is a shame as there are always new folks picking up the hobby. Thanks for the work and content you make available.
Thanks Larry!
Once again Rich, ever so thankful for your helpful tutorials.
Glad you like them Gilbert!
Still here... lol - If you get back to to the array - please hit up the auto increment function. Thx Rich.
I've used it in a few videos Atienne, but yeah, I'll make a focused video on it soon, thanks! 👍
great tips rich please keep teaching more tips like this in lightburn these are the very usefull tips for everyone i am learing the lightburn better every day thank you
Thanks, will do Ahmad!
Yup! Still here. Great information Rich Thank you.
Awesome, thank you so much for watching Herb!
Rich first off, congratulations on 75k subscribers 👏 I love watching your tutorials. I've learned so much over the last two & a bit years. Thanks again from over the pond 🇬🇧
Always a pleasure David, and your comments are much appreciated Sir! 🙏 Cheers!
You certainly deserve the 75K subscribers..
Thank you so much! I really appreciate it! 👍
Push the scroll wheel down to move around the screen. So much easier! Great videos!
Thanks so much!
One minor comment Rich. On mirror across a line the line doesn't have to be a tool path and can be diagonal or horizontal. Also to mirror across a shape just draw a line down it's center. Thank you for this review!!!
Thanks Terry. Yeah, it can be used in many ways. This is just what I'm used to, using tool paths.
Thank you. I’m a brand new beginner. This is most helpful.
Awesome! 👍 Thanks for watching!
I do like this format, I never want to say anything to offend you because you are so knowledgeable with Lightburn and I am totally inept but being more focused on a single task makes it easier for me to learn.
I appreciate that, *thanks!*
Several 'aha!' moments in this video. I recently learned that if I am in mm and type 10in in the size field, it converts the 10 inches into mm. Today I learned that I can do math operations in that field also! So many cool features I had no idea were there. Thank you for taking the time to show us and really explain what you're doing. That makes all the difference! I appreciate you, Rich!
Thank you so much! I really appreciate it! 👍
Incredibly easy to watch and learn! Thank you for doing these videos.
I appreciate that, *thanks!*
The nice thing about videos like this is you're answering questions that I didn't even know I had.
🤪 That's good to hear Ed!
No one does this lightburn training like you Rich. I'm a forever guy for your channel. John UK
Thank you so much John! I really appreciate it! 👍
Watched it all. I've learned so much by watching your videos. Thanks
Awesome, thank you Dwight!
Good morning, Rich.
Morning!
I once again great stuff! I like the new format, but the previous stuff is so important to us newbies too. Thanks again for all your excellent content.
Glad you're enjoying it Jim!
Hi Rich, Thanks from Australis. You again answered many questions i did not have. Love your work. And yes was here till the end.
Awesome, thank you!
Great video, thank you! Another tip I learned as a complete beginner is that my Lightburn was in "Beginner Mode" so I did not see the "set shape start point" button. If anyone else was missing this button, go into Edit > Settings and within the Display/Graphics section, turn off Beginner Mode (Simpler Interface).
You should never turn on beginner mode IMO. It serves no purpose but to extends the learning curve.
Rich, I have learned so you I can't thank you enough. You mentioned something that I could have used yesterday, and that is how to find something that gets lost on the screen, I hope that sounded right.
Happy to help!
Great Idea. I learned Lightburn using your original tutorial...binge watched it. I refer to it constantly. I know I will find a solution somewhere in your videos. This format is targeted, I don't have to search or remember where I saw the Lightburn technique that I need. Thanks again, you are my Yoda.
Steve
OBTW...graduate Kenner Jr Hi, East Jefferson Hi. Go Saints!
Awesome, thank you Stephen! I'm only 20 min from Kenner!
Hey Rich, I'm still here. I like your new format. You have a great way of describing elements of Lightburn that makes it very easy to follow I am about one year into lasers now and you have been one of the most valuable assets and inspirations I have found on CZcams. Thanks!
Awesome, thank you so much!
Thanks! Loved it. Welcome back to the old format. The best learning tool.
Awesome! 👍 Thanks for watching!
Thanks Rich! The mirror was super helpful!
Thanks for watching Eric!
Brilliant stuff Rich, you are a great teacher and the new format is brilliant.👍
Thank you kindly Richard!
Thanks Rich, learned a couple new things today. Very informative.
Thanks Peggy! Much appreciated!
Rich, you have a way explaining things in Lightburn to make them easy to understand. It is an honor to be a mod for your group and a friend.
Thank you so much Keith! I really appreciate it, and your time and effort! 👍
If you (you tubers) are teaching I'm sticking with you till the end. All talking is a skipped video. 😮 And I really like the new/old format.
Awesome! Thank you! But lots of my talking is relative to the video!
Well Done Rich .... I like the new format.
Awesome, thank you!
Math operators in sizing 🤯 I had no idea. Thanks for all you do for the community
👍 Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the tutorial. Have been watching them since I purchased my first laser. Have several friends getting into lasers and have highly recommended them to put you on their subscribe list. Thx again and keep those videos coming.
Great to hear, thanks so much!
Awesome video Rich! I really like how these teach me all the features of LightBurn!
Glad to help Andy!
Great Video. FYI you can press the spacebar and left click, drag to move your workspace.
Thanks for the tip! There are several ways to do everything in Lightburn!
A BIG THANK YOU Rich for this video and the format you are starting, even though all you other videos are just as good, this way it great. And with the clock one this has just come in handy for me righ now, as I am going to be making a clock, with a hunting scene and using old shotgun cartridges as numbers, and now I can use the circle array tool to make dots when I need to drill the holes for the shells to sit. And yes I did watch the whoe video as well. Coz if you dont you are likey to miss something little hint that could be important to make the project work 🙂
Wow! Thank you so much Ian! I'm happy you like the new _(old)_ format!
Thank You Very Much Rick! You are The Best! Have a Great Day!
You are very welcome! Thanks for watching!
As always, another great video! You have a fantastic ability as a teacher. Thank you so much for your time putting these together. When I need to figure something out, I always reference your video library first!
You're very welcome Richard! 👍
Great video.
And yes, I think the teaching videos are the best. I did watch til the end.
Awesome Lonnie! 👍 Thanks for watching!
yea!!! Although the projects told of the possibilities, we newbies need to know function. I had my laser for a while, watch one of your earlier videos and was brave enough to dive in. Thank you
Awesome! 👍 Thanks for watching!
Great video Rich,,,,I've been watching and learning from you for a couple of years. Wow four topics covered in less than 30 min, again wow! Like the new video format much better.
I'm trying!
Hey Rich, I was just trying to figure out the aligning shapes thing for an arcade trackball cut out. Prefect timing. I got through it ok, but this video ADDED to my knowledge level with alternative options. Thanks for this video!!!!

Just renewed my LB license yesterday. Wonderful software and instruction from you! I would watch in whatever format was given no matter what. Thanks again for the vid.
I appreciate that, *thanks* Todd!
Back to basic great🎉😊
Thanks so much!
I am so glad you take the time to learn all this and show us in the way you do. I could have never accomplished as much as I have on Lightburn with out your help. TY
Awesome! 👍 Thanks for watching!
Thank you so much, again! 😊
You already taught me so much in all your video's but just today I stumbled on some basics I couldn't figure out.
And here they are, it's just what I needed!!
I appreciate that, *thanks!*
I've told you before, you are a great teacher.
Thank you again Wes! 😃
Merci!
Thanks so much for the support!
I like it
Thanks!
Really liked this video. I appreciate you going back to this format. While the laser reviews and project videos have been helpful, this is the sort of thing that made understanding how to use an Ortur Laser Master 2 much easier. Without those videos, I would not have been able to make many of the things I have been building my small business on.
Perhaps some of the project videos moving forward could demonstrate how these instructional videos can be used. Also demonstrating the difference between materials used and how important different speed/power settings are to achieve different effects would be neat.
I'm working on my first substantial bulk order of 1000 anodized aluminum business cards and really looking forward to upgrading from LM2 to the Lasermatic. Your videos about the Lasermatic were very helpful in making the decision to purchase it. Also did the math on how long the LM2 was gonna take...
Do you still have your LM2? Is there anything that you would use it for instead of some of the more expensive rigs you have acquired?
Yes I still have most of my lasers, and once you learn how to use them, it makes no difference what laser you use. It's sort of like giving a mechanic China made tools instead of Snap-On. They will still get the job done, but maybe not quite as efficiently or quickly.
I do like the format, but I do enjoy how personable you are, too. I think you could probably snip enough content with everything you've already generated to create a master class.
Do you make story boards for your show, or do you work off a bullet points/checklist? Just curious how you prep for a tutorial video...
99% of the videos are, "off the cuff" James. Very little in the way of prep work.
Great info, thank you. What would be a good example of how the starting point feature can be used.
The starting point allows the laser to start a cut at any point within a shape, not just the first point. Works best when _reduce travel moves_ is also enabled. You might want this feature when you have multiple shapes within a shape to reduce the travel moves and time it takes to run the job Mike.
Thanks for the refreshing video, Rich! One question a little off subject. My Lightburn (newest version) will not open to a full screen when first opening it. I can make it go full screen after it's open.
Mine too... it's always been that way for me Randy. I'll ask Jason about that when I see him next week.
Hi Rick can you help on the Lightburn screen where the cuts, shape properties, camera etc. you have 2 sections above one another ,I.e. cuts above and laser below.
I just have one, how do I get 2 sets?
Great video again
Grab a tab by the red title bar and drag it out of the docking, and then drag it below the other tabs and a new space will open up where you can drop it. _Doesn't work well on laptops_
Thanks so much for all your tutorials. Very helpful. When i first started using Lightburn, which was recently, the radius button (just below starting point) would allow me to have different radii on each corner of a square. I now have the handle in one corner of the square that changes all four corners equally, and when I press the radius button and hover over the corner of the square, it has a red shape displayed with the cursor and won't let me make any adjustments. Any Idea why?
I can't replicate it. You can ask on forum.lightburnsoftware.com
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy Thanks. When I get to my computer with the software I will try to take a screen shot of the issue and post. Thanks again for you quick reply and all you do for this community. God Bless!
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy I figured it out. The error is "can't fillet - not enough space. I thought the setting was 0.5, but it was 5. If your shape is small and radius amount too big, it won't allow it.
Oh, well I don't use the radius tool anymore Bob. With the item selected, if you hold control, a little blue dot appears in the corner that you can drag. It replaced the radius tool.
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy same. If I want a symmetrical shape, but there are times I want tops different from bottom corners.
Question: Is it possible to create a circular array of text with values taken from a spreadsheet?
I don't know, haven't tried it.
Excellent video. I think someting is not setup right with y snapping. As soon as I select the center of the circle the arrow turns into a cross and I never see it as a bullseye - not even positive it is snapping. I have snapping turned on in the settings box.
Check the object snap distance Rob.
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy I did check it and didn't really help. My snapping is not working like you explained and also not working like the manual indicates it should. Cursor doesn't change and snapping is not consistent. Not really sure what is going on. I have been searching the forums to see if I can get it figured out but not yet. I have to be sure I am doing something wrong with my setup or something else, just kind of at a loss for now. Giving up for now because I have to go do something else and spent way too much time on this topic for now. Thanks for your continued help and support.
Try doing a reset Rob. Window --> Reset to default layout. I rarely see replies to replies to comments, so it might be easier for you to ask a Lightburn tech instead of having a conversation here in the comments: forum.lightburnsoftware.com/
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy you are right I had already started researching the forum. No need for a reply. to this comment. You are always so generous with your time. Only reason for this reply is to say thank you - just showing my appreciation for your time.
