I love your brooder bungalow! I wish we had them 70 years ago! I was 3 and responsible for the little chicks . We had No amazing looking chickens just egg layers back then! 😊❤
Jacklyn, that is so nice. So glad you got this for the chicks and for the farm. You might need to get another one in the future. What a great addition to the Farm.
Congratulations! You are really going to love being more able to have chicks that require less work, and more fun! I think having them more eye-level will be fun for you, too! I'm excited for you!
Congratulations on the new upgrades 🎉🎉 Awesome concrete work upgrade and the new brooder is fabulous. You are doing all of the right things to have a phenomenal hatchery. 👏
🇦🇺On your chick house, could you dig around the outside of the building and apply a waterproof coating on the blocks, to help keep the water out. The waterproofing that is used under bathroom shower tiles.
I love all of your videos! I enjoy seeing all 3 if you working together! Your husband's laugh makes my day! Well truly all of you make my day! I don't always get to comment because I watch CZcams on my Roku on TV. But I just had to tell you how much I love y'all I know that it's a lot of hard work but thank you so much for sharing with us all that you're doing!
That’s an awesome update for your farm. I haven’t been a subscriber for very long but I am enjoying your videos and growing in love with little Eleanor. She’s simply precious 💕 from a Grammie in GA
Thanks for the info on your brooder. I came across this brand when visiting the local feed store recently and got pretty excited about purchasing one. There isn't a lot of GQF content out there that I could see. Finding this video made the choice very easy. I wanted to go five high, but decided on three, for now. Made the purchase this morning. Thank you!
Great choice! Now that you’ve gone 3 high you can always go higher by ordering another brooder level. We find that an extra brooder level is worth the extra expense vs the extra grow out level.
I got chicks last year. They stayed in plastic totes in the laundry room while I built their chicken house. I knew I had to speed up the build when I was woken up at 7:30 one morning with a very croaky crow- they were all supposed to be pullets.😂
Oh gosh! LOL I've found them hopping around the room more than once, escaped when they were in totes. This is already leaps and bounds easier! Out of the 6 silkies we hatched in December, 4 are Roos and 2 are pullets. haha
That was probably a good decision buying that brooder. Just make sure you give them a spot to get off the wire since it is not good for their feet to be on it all the time. When do you start hatching chicks and how many do you hatch every year? I usually start hatching in April.
yesterday I just made a down payment on one of these and am going to pick it up on are vacation next week am super excited. the space saving alone I think it will be worth it. I will still need to buy the auto waterer but that is it so am super excited but only 850 tho not bad when I was quoted 1722 so about half in saving buying used not bad but they rarely come up with not being junk it seems.
Jacklyn (sp?) congratulations on your new brooder! I just love how well you explain things, like the different types of chickens and their feature that distinguish them. Very interesting for this wannabe farm girl. I’m not sure which Americanas Americaunas (sp?) are the ones that you have. When you say the name they sound the same so got a bit confused 🤪 as to which type you have. 🤪 PS … you are so beautiful and your eyes just pop when you talk about your farm. 😊 👍🏼
Thank you! I try to approach everything with education. We have Ameraucanas, which are a true breed with a written standard. Americana are the impostors, so to speak, they’re not a breed and do not produce set results when bred together.
Hey... 👋😊
