We just lost Don yesterday. RIP. These 2 guys were really amazing and those songs are still incredible gifts for us to enjoy today. Thank you Don and Phil.
Recently also the drummer of the Rolling Sones died too 😢... It hurts me however that the Music Media giving more attention to his death than to the death of Don Everly. A real Music and Harmony Icon ! Except of course by all Everly fans who are paying tribute to Don ! Don Everly for Ever !
So handsome and talented
What a handsome man - love his talking voice as well as his singing voice of course. I met him in the 80s after a show and then in 1990. I shall never forget it. Phil & Don were the best harmony singers ever. Love them.
For a reportedly quiet man he is a really terrific talker. Love the stories they both tell about touring and life. He always seems very humble. Nice to look at too!!

WELL.... DON IS NOT QUIET PERSON ACTUALLY..... HE ALWAYS DOES THE TALKING ON THE RECORDS.... PHIL COILD HAVE DONE THAT TOO...BUT LEAVES IT TO HIS BROTHER...
@@roypruysvdhoeven1855 Phil was perfectly capable of doing stage patter as he often demonstrated at his solo gigs during the break-up years. But I think they had decided between them that Don would handle it when it was the Everly Brothers performing since he had the stronger speaking voice. I don’t really think Phil had a problem with it. Don could talk a blue streak when he wanted to. I guess he just had to be in the right mood and in the right situation.

I saw the Everleys in 1992 with my husband it was the best memories that I ever had.RIP to Phil and to my husband
What a precious interview. Everyone was smiling and happy and it's obvious they all enjoyed their time together. The Everly brothers own a huge piece of my heart. Can't tell you how many people in my life, from my Father to my brothers, boyfriends, my children and coworkers who have teased me with Wake Up Little Susie, because I am Susan. Thank you for sharing this.
I love these men and miss them and the joy they brought us all.
Love this interview! I always wondered if it were Don more than Phil who needed the self identity. Hard being the older sibling sometimes.
I enjoyed this interview because you can see how into Don these ladies are. He's such an attractive man inside and out. I can feel his charisma from here. Very sad to think of him as gone but as long as we keep talking about the Everly's and admiring them, they will never leave us.
I'm 49 yrs now but don everly was a cutie even older .☺️

I began with the Beatles in 64' as a 9 year old...my aunt was an Everly Bros. fan...i became familiar with them...thought they were ok...later on...as an adult my aunt took me to see them...they just blew me away..their singing was out of this world...Live they were Fantastic...so every chance i got i went again...for a total of 5 times i saws them!!!

I agree . Handsome and charismatic. Why he felt the need to have plastic surgery saddens me. He is unrecognisable in later concert appearances which has devastated me as a lifelong Everly brothers fan.

It looks like he may have just had his turkey neck tightened up, but I think he looks closer to young Don now then he did in his middle age. Still has the intense eyes and nice nose. Much younger spouses can likely inspire people to have a tune up!
The eye lift, etc came later.

@@judyc He has had surgery in later life. It is obvious to anyone who has followed their career for five decades. His eyes are the most obvious.
I always loved them and always will i know both are gone now but i listen to them everyday
11:08 "What would make you stop?" I guess the brothers found out in 2014, didn't they? Sigh .... Linda Ronstadt often told of the massive crush she had on Don when she was young. It was nice to see a relaxed Don in this 1996 interview. Clearly, he and Phil aged and matured and figured out how to get along again after their tragic breakup in 1973.
Actually, they broke up again and it was very sad. Simon and Garfunkel, who loved them, got them back onstage together in 2003 as guests on the S&G tour. At that time, the Everlys had not spoken to each other in three years.

The song I liked was that's old fashion.
In concerts it was nearly always don talking and telling jokes, making silly comments about Phil mumbling his lines etc, and Phil was very much the quiet one up on stage

I'm from the UK and am 58yrs old so only got into the Everlys in 1970s..when I was also a punk!..but then I just was hooked..my mum was a big fan of them and Elvis and so I I was going to take her to see the Everlys play when they toured the UK.. for reasons I cant recall, we never did see them and I regret it so much especially now Phil and Don are both gone..and so is my mum..Its so true that you regret the things you dont do.

Dons hair was more curlyer then phils hair was
And surprisingly, as Don got older, his hair thinned and is now relatively straight and flat. Still is handsome though!
