- Helldivers is a fantastic couch co-op game that we enjoy as a couple. Watch as we trudge along different terrains and battle all sorts of enemy races in this gameplay.
It's also a great refresher as we await the release of Helldivers 2!
What is Helldivers?
Helldivers is a top-down shooter game developed by Arrowhead Game Studios and published by Sony Computer Entertainment.
Man, the music in the second game slaps, but the music in the first game was just something else holy shit. It just sounds so incredibly epic and heroic
I couldn't agree more! Perhaps if we give the second game more time, it'll sink in some more! I won't forget my first few dives against the automaton. The sound of dread is in the air!
I can't wait to see how defending Earth will be in the sequel!

Got me laughing so hard at 3:19 when a helldiver shoots the objective while it was 10 seconds from ending lmao, this game is great!

You got me excited as well! I'm not a big fan of the Sickle gun in HD2, especially is relatively long wind-up time.
Oh I know, laser shotgun will be so much fun
I used to play mechs effectively (which apparently is kinda rare?) at that lvl; Bubble, Mech , mech, mech (type depends on enemy) with the spread laser as my main gun. Its amazing how slow you guys move but are able to stay alive without being overwhelmed, its so cool to watch peoples different play styles.
Certainly. We've had our fair share of coop encounters with a Mech player that couldn't care less when they kill us. Static field and other strategem used for crowd control is always a plus. The Tox gun is also fantastic in combining crowd control and damage. The only downside is you need to bring ammo with you which is a bummer when you are using Tanto/Sickle/Trident.

@@KevBautista Mechs #1 job is not to step on companions, 2# ammo management, #3 take heavy armored enemies out. Its bit different but personally I very rarely if ever stepped or shot any one .
First time hearing about good mech pilots being rare too. Though I mostly played a lot of high difficulty solo, because I felt awkward when not playing with friends at the time, making use of the light mech and its cannon to handle heavies. Surprising how long you can make it last when you learn how to pilot them properly. Though I did also have earth defense force teaching me mech conservation at the same time.
Regardless I’m really hoping we have the option for a cockpit view in the new game.

That was so cool! I played this game all the time when I was little. I play the 2nd game these days now, but it's fun to reminisce and look back on the founding days of democracy! I never got the chance to play on these maps, either cause the war was already lost by the time I got back on or I played on successful campaigns. I love rewatching some footage, cause damn I did NOT know how to play in comparison to everyone else. Been watching your other HD1 content as of recent, thanks for uploading so much!

Here here! The biggest adjustment the third person view. Nothing beats knowing there's a bug tank rampaging on your back and pressing duck last second!

I never got to play this mission in H1 but I can't wait for city level destruction in H2
If you have the time, HD1 still has a strong player base so you can still play with veterans and beginners alike even until today. :)

@@Mr.Gomezz brother, just do it. At first I was apprehensive if I did the wrong thing by buying the Super Citizen edition, but now, I say this confidently - this is the best game purchase I've ever made!!!
I was thinking about buying HD1 since my PC can't handle HD2. Is it worth it in the current day? Are servers still alive and the game playable?
For sure! Last time we checked, HD1 servers still have players both lower levels and a handful of level 50s. :) Cheers!

From my perspective, the community is pretty much alive. There's a lot of online players after 5PM ready to spread managed democracy. I'm in the US region, for what it's worth.
Exactly. If you're on PSN, I highly recommend purchasing the Super Earth Ultimate Edition Weapon Pack DLC. If on PC, look if there's a DLC that unlocks all the weapons for you. The game becomes a whole lot better with them.

You're in for a treat since Helldivers 2 is in third-person POV. I'm sure it's goingto be a big adjustment for many, including me.

Which is fun, being swarmed with underpowered weapons and ragdolled repeatedly then dies, or being swarmed but have a fighting chance, not running away, then dies? If only Arrowhead adopt what they did in HD1 to their latest title.
I get where you're coming from. The ragdoll issue with HD2 severely dampaned the fun especially for the earlier PS5 versions of it. I'd say when it comes to maturity, HD1 had more than enough time to iron out the issues throughout the years.
What I like about HD1's teamwork mechanic was the fact that everyone needs to be on the same page on the exfil plan when crap hits the fan! Otherwise, all divers will be squished.
