Fun playthrough.
I would note that a lot of times, when the monster causes struggle, tbere was a 1 followed by a symbol. That symbol was the number of players. Thus it would have gained 2 struggle, which would have had it Unleash a lot more often.
I've been waiting for this! So many unboxing videos but finally some gameplay. Really excited to get my copy.
I know, right? I was surprised at all the unboxing videos. Figured more creators would jump right into the game play. Oh well, that's why I wanted to get this one out. Excited for it!
Would love you to continue this series. Be awesome to watch the videos! I really enjoyed this
@@OneStopCoopShop jealous!!! Can’t wait for mine to arrive! But I’m in the UK so still another 4-6 weeks of waiting
This was awesome! So excited for my copy to arrive!!!
Awesome, a Primal playthrough!..Yes you did make some mistakes, but that is how we learn and successive plays only get better. Looking forward to more episodes. Thanks for your time.
I did not expect to like the little dorky voice acting so much :"D
Thank you for playing this one!!❤😊
Thanks for playing this!!
Can't wait for mine to arrive.
❤❤❤❤ thank you !
That was a pretty epic battle! I love the card combinations. I can tell that when I get my copy, I'm going to want to set up some reminder tokens or notes to remember certain steps for the boss. Thanks for pinning the "rules corrections" comment as well.
Woohoo :D Primal with Jason enactment :D Can't get better! Thank you so much Jason! This has been a lot of fun! Wondering how different the bosses will feel. Love the clean art design of the cards and the monsters look fantastic :)
Have a great weekend and hope you will have the chance to enjoy it some more.
Oh, I forgot to mention in my other comment that I am interested in more game play videos. I figure you'll get used to the rules more and more each time you play, and I want to be pretty much ready to play by the time my game arrives. Thanks again!
Uhhh pretty exited! I have to wait some more here in good old Germany 😅
Can’t wait to table this!!
You seem like you would be really fun and entertaining to play with. Great video.
It’s a toy. If we can’t have fun with toys, where else can we have fun? :)
Oh wow! Yes yes yes! So hyped for this to arrive this summer.
Just got my box in now to paint them and play a game!
May I, at 20:53, revealing the 1rst behavior card, you should have been activate the bottom of the card too ? cause you have 2 struggle token already ? Just asking ?
At 26:06 should have pay 2 to enter in the sand ?
Questions, because maybe I'm doing it wrong...
In the very last turn, shouldn't you activate both behavior cards? "When a player starts their turn in the front sector"
You are correct. They ended up not mattering, but I should have shown them for the camera.
Yeeeeeehhhhhh 🎉
Love this playthrough Jason!!! Am I crazy or did you use the harder version of the peril cards? I think you could have used the other side due to only being art level 1 aggression? Maybe I'm wrong though! Thank you for some great reading as well!!
@OneStopCoopShop huh mine are different! You played on hard mode I think! Mine says only if tormat has 1*hunters or more struggle increase hardening by 1!
yeah grey plastic doesn't looks very good on the table. you really should put some paint on these minis.
Really wanted this game but the cost was too high and the unknown shipping price made me too nervous. Looks so good though. Hope you enjoy!
I like the gameplay of the game, the player maneuvering around the boss, but the boss feels a bit static with the moves and positioning, not his attacks though.
What happened to Colin and bairnt ? Do they have their own channels?
Bairnt always had his own channel (meet me at the table), and Colin left OSCS several months ago to join him. They live in the same town as each other, so it made a bit more sense :)
Hi, keep up with your good work! However, shouldn't you use the peril and objective card that matches with the monster's level? The monster is level 1. However, you use the peril card and objective card of level 3.
such an original game, lol
Team Robert!
Around 12:35, you said you'd explain later why you called the characters Robert and Ned. But I must have missed the explanation. Are those other characters from the setting?
Pretty sure it’s Robert Baratheon and Ned Stark, two major characters from the song of ice and fire/game of thrones series
- Mike
@@OneStopCoopShop Ah! I haven't played that series, so I didn't recognize them. I didn't realize it had monster battles. Thanks for the explanation!
@andrewwilson895 oh it doesn’t have monster battles really. The books abd tv show are mostly focused on political intrigue and warfare. Jason was just being his goofy self 😅
@@OneStopCoopShop Ahhhh, thank you for clarifying! That makes more sense haha
Jason here. More like Robert and Ned from the books. Before Robert ascended to the throne, he and Ned were best friends getting into trouble together. It was the closest thing to a fantasy buddy cop movie I could think of :).
A play-through well done. I especially enjoyed the character accents and other flavor that gave it a nice role-playing feel. However, the most important part of a play-through is the actual game play. That part was rushed and extremely difficult to follow. You may know how the game flows, and can make decisions and card plays in microseconds, but we may not know the game that well!
Man this game is like... a breath away from a lawsuit XD
But hey, if capcom won't make it, I will definitely enjoy this.
Great work as usual 👍🏻
There actually IS a Monster Hunter World and Monster Hunter Iceborne board game. Cant speak for the changes Iceborne makes but World is... Okay? It has a fair number of issues and honestly I'm glad I backed this instead. Took longer but this is a much more tightly built game imo
@@TheAlmightyGameGenie oh yeah I forgot to mention that. I meant more... like this. This feels so much more like playing the game than the mhw board game. That game was fine, and that's it.
@@teifan6674 I know they're trying to fix it with new updates but honestly I'm just not as fond of it's general systems. The choose your own adventure style hunting the monster is neat the first few times but runs out of steam kinda quick imo
120 pg rulebook!? 😵💫
You don't have to read all 120 of it thankfully. Around 30 pages gets you started, 30 is for how the campaign works, and the rest is specific clarifications, glossary, one shot scenarios, etc
It's also one of the best rulebooks I've ever read. There are examples for everything, an index, beautiful art and they explain everything in an order that makes sense.
I have to say im very dissapointed with the components quality of this game, they look extremely poor (obviously except for the minis). The cards are fingerprint magnets (black) and the boards look extremely flimsy, for the price of this game its very dissapointing to see :(
The cards themselves are a little hit or miss, but the all in came with a giant sleeve box and all the sleeves... took quite a few hours but makes a big difference.
@@loktar00 ah man, i instead went for the Gameplay All-In Pledge with terrain box and not the actual all in. So wont be getting the sleeve box
Some of these turns were crazy, that was a great playthrough! Can't wait to see more of this game!
Obviously a few mistakes but that wasn't bad overall for a game this size played on camera, and at least you kept your rules consistent throughout even when they were wrong.
Some of the rules mistakes I noticed, in case someone is wondering:
- You can only play up to 5 cards in your sequence :P sorry! (59:20 for instance)
- You do Escalation and reshuffle as soon as the behavior deck is empty, not when you draw from an empty deck. Similarly, players take fatigue damage as soon as their deck is empty, not when they need to draw (45:59 for instance). See Escalation, Fatigue and Empty (deck) in the rulebook.
- You used Assist during your own turn quite a few times to get rid of your cards, you can only use Assist during another player's turn, and only once per player! (so you get less cards for your own turn)
- The "Aggro" behavior happens when someone plays an aggro card, even if the aggro doesn't change player (58:02)!
- There's multiple times you forgot the "per player" icon next to the struggle gain on monster cards (41:15 or 44:40 for instance)
- If you succeed a Riding check, you also get to deal your weapon damage to the monster (44:28)
- Granite Skin (Stance I Peril card) has the Permanent keyword, so it should stay in play forever until an effect tells you to discard it.
- If you start your turn on a plateau, you immediately step off it before anything else (ie. at 44:23, you cannot actually cancel the card, because you're supposed to be off the plateau).
- After a while of reading the same behaviors, you started to forget to apply some of their effects (like removing a rock in the rear at 1:01:52, or +1 struggle at 1:12:08)
- You only draw back up to hand size AFTER the attrition phase, doesn't matter too much but it might if a behavior is revealed at the end of the attrition phase.
Not bad, on my part. Thank you!
I'm pinning this comment because it has some useful rule corrections. In addition, the commenter was very nice and respectful. Love comments like these.
Thanks for posting this, struggling against Toramat personally, he's no walk in the park. This game definitely does have a lot of moving parts.
I believe you were also using the more difficult Perils card (V) which shouldnt be seen until the latter chapters but I could be wrong.
Lots of rules and new mechanics to remember to this game but a lot of fun
