    Thankyou very much for video & sound testing. In US and hard to find these, but did locate a BBB one from ebay seller in Puerto Rico. That one and the 1st one on the handle line up were my favorite rings. Cheers!

    I use a generic Chinese electric siren that sounds like a home alarm. It cost me $1.39 with free shipping and uses triple A batteries. I love coming up behind people and laying on my horn for a couple seconds. The looks you get from people are absolutely priceless and entertaining to say the least.
    Thanks for the video and info. Thumbs up

    From experience I have found that though the higher pitched bells were louder, a lot of older pedestrians can not hear it at all. So the ting bell might actually be the safer bell to use.

    I bought the
    Mirrycle Incredibell Adjustabell 2 Bike Bell $7.16 Amazon. This was a good review, I appreciate the time and effort you took to make it. I found this bell to be all that the overall winner was and it was readily available.

    Been using 1€ bells that I found from nearest grocery store =P Usually last about 6-12 months each, before the "ringer" snaps off, but with that price you can just buy 5 or more of them at once (like I did).

    • @Bipbiprna
      @Bipbiprna Před 3 lety

    I just got a Knog oi. (The tingbell seems to be inspired by it)
    The mounting mechanism is better....

    • @MTBguide
      @MTBguide  Před 6 lety

      It's indeed inspired by the Knog and the much cheaper TWOOC (see Aliexpress) bells. Compared to TWOOC they aim to deliver a higher quality and improved loudness.
      The design and finishing of the Knog Oi are in my opinion definitely better. I can't speak of the quality unfortunately, since I didn't have one for this test.

    • @GertvandenBerg
      @GertvandenBerg Před 6 lety

      The Oi seems to cost similar to the Tingbell (at least looking at Amazon prices - which is lower than directly from Knog (Can't find the Tingbell on Amazon though)). (In a physical shop in South Africa, not so much... It was the only non-conventional option though) (The official shop charges the same in $ and €, which does not help...)

  • @mtbboy1993
    @mtbboy1993 Před 6 lety +1

    I recommend getting a Timber Bell or similar. perfect for mtb, no need to ring the bell, so you get more control over the bike. it's not effected by water, like normal bells, classic metal bells work well too, but I prefer Timberbell cus I don't have to ring it.
    The timber bell has a switch so it can be deactivated, or switched to mild ring.

      I like the concept, just keep it on while descending when there are hikers and keeping your hand (firmly) on the handlebars.

    When you ring each bell, you should have stated WHICH MODEL it was before you rang it rather than just ring them one after the other and then show their decibel level afterwards in a chart.
