Hi Steve. Tried the effects out. No problem with blur. Worked fine. Used the Modern artistic effect but had issues. I applied the effect OK and the key frames seemed to work. However the picture flashed - all of the picture - particularly the sky which seemed to flash on and off with the artistic effect colour. You can still see the transition from no effect to artistic effect though which is what makes me think it is basically working. I rendered it but no change. I exported it to MP4 no change. I am using a new IMAC M3 and the latest 2024 version of PE. Maybe I have done something wrong but I don't think so. I think it's a bug. If I just use the artistic effect on its own with no key-framing animation it's ok. I was using a low resolution still image. Tried it with a higher resolution picture but no change, same issue. I have used your CZcams stuff before, successfully and even managed to create a moving arrow on a map. (Your tutorial used a cartoon plane) I have now ordered both of your PE books which are now winging their way to me from Amazon. Any ideas on what's wrong? I have a plan to use such an effect in a project where I transition from a sort of ghostly image to the normal image. Incidentally the tips book was available for about £28, but there was another entry for what looked like the same book for £75 - or thereabouts, which seemed odd. This was on the British (UK) Amazon site. Needless to say I bought the cheaper one!

It could well be a bug. But I'm not sure what the remedy is. Sorry.
