Love hearing Erik Buell explain his thinking. Engineering is thinking things through.
Erik Buell is a genius motorcycle engineer! If I lived in the city, this would be on my list to Santa. But, for now, I will enjoy the memories of my XB12S :)
Eric seems pretty practical about this whole thing and I appreciate that, the best thing in my mind for electric vehicles is something people can just simply use in normal situations. Off road electric bikes are very cool but I feel like most people need a city/suburban commuter than they need a dirt bike.
Absolutely beautiful bike, and Erik Buell is a brilliant bike builder. However, what I've learned is that the seat height is about 30", and that's simply too low for my 6'5" / 36" inseam frame; that's pretty much the only reason I haven't ordered the Fflow yet. Now, if Fuell offers an accessory tall seat (at least 2" higher), I'll order it in a heart beat!
Thank you Arjen, love to hear this.
Regarding the height, the Fllow is designed to support a weight capacity of up to 350 lbs (159kgs) and accommodate riders with a maximum height of 1.90m / 6'2". However, during testing, we had an individual with a height of 1.92m /6'3" try it out and they felt quite comfortable.
Maybe some foot peg adapters will provide a suitable solution? That, plus the seat modification you mentioned should provide lots of customizability.
You don't need a motorcycle. You need a camel. LOL
@@homeontherange733 as a short person I found this very funny lmao
I like that he alluded to a user upgradeable battery pack. This is GREAT engineering and value for the end user as batteries inevitably wear out or are in need of replacement or upgrading.
This is the only electric vehicle I would consider purchasing.
Awesome design and engineering as usual from the Buell/Fuell Team. Love to see yall bouncing back after all the obstacles thrown your way. I have an 09 Ulysses X and wouldn't trade it for anything. Thank yall for all yall have done and your current dedication to creating some truly amazing machines and sharing them with us. Any chance of a dual sport, adventure touring or Ulysses type model in the future?
We can recognise some traditional buell lines wich is nice, but the graphics could be a little more audacious lets not forget we are talking about the future and if should feel like that. I'm wishing the final model does not take much more to be revealed, and i really hope the pre order model works well so you can give the final push to this very important project for all of us
This is Tesla design philosophy: The best part is no part. I would definitely try it out when it comes to Australia.
Thanks for the Fuell Fllow overview! Love the sleek style and the specs look perfect for my daily work commute. I'm really looking forward to some independent review/testing videos once you have the final prototype. Until then, can you provide any details concerning what testing standard was used to determine the range of 180 miles? EPA? WLTP? Custom?
Affordability is the key. The Livewire is nice, I’ve ridden it, but it’s just too expensive. This bike I’ll buy, hell can buy two.
We want to build product that will be accessible and will serve many years. ⚡
@@fuellmobilityplease remove the yearly subscription model to maintain the app. Allow us to plug in our own SIM cards if data plan is the concern!
Very interesting bike. Top speed is ok, accelleration and range seems promising (allthough; what range will there be on the highway?). Electric motorcycles has not kicked off yet, and I believe that range is an important issue. Like the hub motor and don`t like the sound of other electric bikes with chains or belts. If it`s supposed to be silent, it should really be as silent as possible. Lots of people in the EV-country of Norway follow this bike with excitement now. But how will you sell it in other countries? Through dealership or direct export? Other thoughts: Seems difficult to mount a luggage tray behind, which could be handy, some mud guard behind also seems necessary, and I would really like to have a better sport tour fairing, for a combination of a better aerodynamic effect and wind protection. Still wonder how easy or difficult it will be to put on after market parts.
The bike looks fantastic! I've heard complaints about the the top speed. Honestly its plenty fast enough for its market in my opinion. And the software wheelie control is a great idea. I drive an electric car so I know the instant torque of electric. Also a lot of chatter about the app and the paywall after a year. So long as the app functions to unlock and start the bike thats all most people will need so keep that free and most will be happy. Congrats on this design!
Thank you, Jack for kind words, that means a lot to us.
Lots of neat things about this Fuell, but here in dear old Blighty (UK) where it rains more than once in a blue moon, I would like a rear mudguard that covers the whole of the rear wheel under the seat, not just a few inches-worth to hang the number plate on. Looks as if you've made the same mistake as Zero in this department...Of course, on a more fundamental level I'd love to see a properly aerodynamic version, with a recumbent seating position, like Dan Gurney's Alligator of 2001 and Tig Cross's Electrom superpedelec FF of today. With the right bodywork you could double the range using the same battery. Talking of which, you didn't mention the size of the battery in kWh - kilowatt-hours - a key figure. Also, you did mention two levels of horsepower, but I strongly suspect you got the lower figure wrong - you said '11 horsepower' but you surely mean 11kW not 11bhp - the Euro limit for new riders is 11kW, which is 15bhp. PNB
Cant wait Eric!!! 12 more months!!! Black on Black ⚫️ is what i ordered. If you want me to pick it up ealry to get it out of the way, I'd be happy to help! 😂
to be safe 24 months left.......been waiting for our 2s for a year in june and still got a couple of months estimate
Erik please include driver and passenger backrests as add-ons. Very practical to hang bags on. I love going shopping on my naked '05 Lightning but I'm limited to buying only what will fit in my backpack. That's not many groceries.
Ok i seriously want one this bike looks awesome good job
Eric Buell is a Genius, still coming up with new Patents. If I needed an Urban bike I would buy one.
I also have always wanted a 2 wheel Drive off road trail work horse like the Rokon.. They are very Expensive.. Maybe Fuell should consider building an off road 2 wheel drive Utility bike .. There are other Brands out there some of them even are electric .
That would be fun to ride ..But still love my 03 Buell lightning XB9s
The concept is a very good one. Traditional 400 lbs commuter bike that looks like a classic naked. Some early electric motorcycles which time has passed can no longer get replacement batteries. Is there a plan to upgrade these early bikes to make them a long term investment. Appreciate the design thinking from Erik Buell and the rest of the team.
Yes! Per Fuell's website the Fllow has a modular design. "The battery pack, rear wheel motor, and fast charging socket can all be upgraded to your preferences, and the software will receive regular upgrades, to match the latest advancements and push the boundaries even further."
I don't think I will be getting one till it's more proven, £10k is a bit much for me and I do need a bit more than just a vehicle for urban commuting, I'll probably pick up one of the honda twins (probably a used cb500x, new is a bit out my budget haha) or a car at this point(I'm 50/50), but it will be intresting to see where this goes.
It's great to see that it has CCS though and I love the focus on charging rate, which is the main thing I see a lot of EV motorcycle companies skipping out on. It's also good to see a restricted version being released for A1/CBT holders(I hope since it's a software block they can get it removed if they decide to upgrade tho)
Very exciting! 😀⚡️⚡️⚡️
Looks amazing! I can't wait to get one. Hopefully we get a dirt ebike with the Erik Buell treatment in the future as well.
Love your bikes from way back to now. You are Awesome EB!
Looks awesome!
Just awesome guys. Awesome job.
Thank you Steve ⚡
It’s the XB E 😂. Respect. Few men have ever been where you have and even fewer bounced back. The world needs more of you good sir and best of luck. I wish I could support your new endeavor but this push to electric is nothing more than a mechanism for control that I cannot abide or afford. Electric bikes need to cheaper than ICE bikes not the same or more expensive. Also I like that someone with an internet connection and transmitter CANT shut off my XB12 🤘🫡.
How easy will it be to replace the rear tire since the Axially motor is integrated with it?
This bike is so cool! I cant wait to get mine. For what you get this thing is a steal!
As Erik said (admitted), range and recharging infrastructure are the main resistance to EV sales, and it looks like that's one problem he hasn't solved. He does emphasize that the FUELL Fllow is designed for commuting, and it seems it should succeed at that, but for longer rides at higher speeds, for motorcycle enthusiasts rather than commuters, we're still going to have to wait some number of years for better batteries to arrive.
Mostly true. But consider that you could ride from LA to Santa Barbara and back on a single charge on the new Evoke 6061-GT due to it's massive near 30 kWh battery pack. And there are about 30 charging stations inbetween. So, price is the main resistance for riders like me in CA. I put my order in for the Fllow as its specs will be perfect for my daily commute and the price was right.
If I didn't just purchase a Zero this summer I'd be even more excited...but I'll keep my eye out for 'em! Sweet ride.
Fuell Fllow is among the very Best electric ⚡️ motorcycle designs. Really Brilliant and relatively Future Adaptive in a new always improving and changing technology world 🌎
Thank you, David, we work hard to create the best quality product ⚡
Integrated turn signals in the handle-bar ends. Nice touch
Excellent concept; looks like a fine execution. A practical, fun commuter.
Thank you ⚡
Hello Eric, can you give an update of the process of development of the Fllow and schedule of planned delivery? We are almost 10 months away from your last messages. I think the community will appreciate more information! Greetings Jan
How water tight is it?
I've been looking for a E-Bike for commuting. Tried the LiveWire but that's too expensive and way too heavy for what it is. Then came along Sondors and that bit one of my friends as he paid the full price and never got his order as Sondors is now folding. I'll wait to see these in the wild before making a purchase decision. Good luck to the Fuell team. We need something like this.
Has any information been released on how the rear motor will be isolated from vibration? I'm very curious.
I was pre-order 88 and now order 1969 - I can't wait!
Thank you for your order, you are going to love your Fllow ⚡
❤️🔥❤️🔥
Love the bike. Missing the perimeter brake!
Might still be patented by the company Buell which Erik is no longer associated with and can't use it without paying royalties.
I really try to like it. CCS on this is great. Not sure on the integrated software since unit isn't shown to see.
And the sales terms with the enlisting are just not to my liking.
Any chance of this coming to Australia???
Hi Robert, we also ship to Australia, please contact us via social media or email to learn more about free shipping options for Australia riders.
Please don't get rid of that iconic front disc rotor which BUELL bikes has.
Yo Eric let me get one to daily commute in Orlando FL with, I'll help get you a ton of sales, I work at a theme park with people always looking for transportation. 😅
What kind of gear change system will it have? A DCT? Or will it be manual?
No gears, unless you consider its reverse assist feature.
Can the buyer get the software adjusted? I want wheelie control OFF. If I can't wheelie a bike I don't want it.
Hi Freddie, unfortunately you can't adjust the software and turn the wheelie control off, it's done so to ensure the rider's safety.
Tire change, think about the rear tire change, with the rear torque and regeneration functionality it will eat up tires like pancakes, no problem there but how to change that rear tire will be a task trying to find a motorcycle shop that will do such maintenance. I'm still struggling with shops working on my 2005 XB9SX most of the things I do myself it's soooo easy but shops for some reason are intimidated to work on them even Harley Shops are not that bright on this matter "we only service Harleys" it is literally a Sporter engine."sorry it doesn't look like a Harley"
Any updates? I was in the first round of pre orders. Haven’t heard anything on ETA beyond 2024
If you go on LinkedIn, they have two company, "addresses." One in BFE Wisconsin and one in downtown New York that both point to street views with no sign of "Fuell." 💀 Perfect bike for me, but I'll believe it when I see it.

Linked in shows two bogus addresses...
If I was rich I'd buy one.
Change finance options. Either 6k up front or 11k doesn’t make this very accessible to a Lot of people.
Please add USB ports for audio and phone charging plus a solar panel on the tank top. Heated grips too. Thanks
They are not taking requests
Hi Nath, be aware that Fllow does have USB ports for phone charging. Thank you for the suggestions, I will pass this to the team. ⚡
@Shonuf023 that's not true. Suggestions are taken back to thier team.
I have had 31 motorcycles, currently riding a 2020 FLSL. of those 31, 18 have been Harley-Davidson products, 4 of them Buells. Made it to the 10th Buell Homecoming on a Cyclone, my first Buell. I would argue, my Xb9r was the best use of the air cooled "Sportster" lump ever. Rode my 1125r from San Diego to Seattle, to Sturgis rally, then home to Richmond, Indiana with my camping gear on the pillion. All that being said, I don't see this project coming to fruition. How fun if it would, but? The obvious. Ride Free
1:10 1:11 1:12 1:13 1:14 1:15 1:16 1:18 AI is nifty. How about benzene models Sir? Please let Buell use premium American made Gasoline. 2:22
0-60 mph in 3.5 sec? I hope there's a way to tune the bike and use more of that 500 FT-pounds of torque. I'm still waiting for 300 mi range as that would give 150 mi useable range on the daily. As I use my bike for food delivery and ride 150-200 mi a day. Also, "they" might ban the sale of ICE vehicles but not the use of them. I guess "they" could just ban gas stations but, will the oil lobbies allow that? NOPE
How much do you think you'd get back from regenerative braking? That might get you your 200 (assuming you're primarily city driving), and if you can charge it during a lunch break? Wishful thinking, I know.
@@graikonungr7502normally round 10% of kinetic energy can be restored
That prototype/mock up is looking really rough in the details. This bike looks very far from production.
We are currently working on getting the final prototype to start the production, we will show it once we have it ready. ⚡
@@fuellmobilityplease add golden tone to the front shocks instead of plain chrome, that looks premium!
Detuned for Europe 😢 No fun
optionally detuned to 15hp for those who want to ride using the 125cc equivalent with their car license. Otherwise it's 47hp for EU too!
I want one.
Do you offer tours of your factory ?.
I owned a 1998 S1 White Lightning i loved that bike except for the seat but was it a real hoot to ride.
Happy to see your still doing it.
East troy still holds potential for empire !!.
still got and love my XB12X Ulysses
very cool tech, but I still cannot get behind an electric motorcycle. Hate that square dashboard... yeeeshhh, looks like an Ipad stuck on the handlebars.
Modifying your dash, as long as it isn't stupidly restricted by the bike, isn't too hard to do
