Thank you for this. I actually made this for a contemporary art project, I'd be posting it on Instagram later on. I think you could have implied the direction in which they pull the string at more obvious as it affects the overall look more than I thought. I had trouble making it but in the end it's worth it.

Would this design look good with different shades of blue? If so, how should I arrange the shades? Like should I do darker shades on bottom, lighter shades on top? Or make it random?
If you have black background, you should make lighter shades on bottom and darker on top.

why do you keep moving the ruler when marking out the cm? Couldn't you just go right down the ruler and make 1 to 2, 2 to 3, etc..... Was there a reason for that or is that just what youre used to doing? Thanks
