Coach & AJ are so sharp and well spoken 🍁🇨🇦
Basically you can see clearly the concentration and professionalism in Jesse Marsch's conference, which is something we don't really see in Berhalter. You get the feeling that Jesse is doing everything he can as a coach for his team to win, which we don't see in Berhalter at all.
The USMNT coach gives us excuses, after doing a fantastic disappearing act against Columbia in the friendly and against Panama and Uruguay in the two Copa America games.
You don't get the feeling from Jesse that he hides from the opponent or the competition and History.
I build on this comparison to predict a great appearance in the World Cup for Canada.. I don't know about Mexico.
For the USMNT I want them to do well with any coach including Berlahter, but I can't wish victories or we can't wish success.
For the USMNT to win and be successful in 2026 W.C. the team has to be different in so many ways including that bullsh!t about liking or loving talk. There is a time and a place for liking someone and it's never during the 90 minutes of an official match in the most important tournament of the Americas.
All I know is, if you miss Copa America in the United States as the USMNT coach, you ain't much of a coach.
This was the opportunity that coaches wait for decades to prove a point, which is the one about loving one's country.
The current USMNT players as they themselves say, they like Gregg Berhalter, but we didn't see from them much love for America.
Now, do the people at the USSF understand or even pay attention to these details?
In W.C. 2026, Canada and Mexico may advance but not us, which would beg the question to the USSF, WHY DO YOU BOTHER HOSTING IMPORTANT WORLD TOURNAMENT?
Continue setting up meaningless victories in small regional tournaments and friendlies, just as long as you don't face Columbia any time soon again.

I do not feel the need as a Canadian to bash USA at this moment. For one, we have not played our match yet. But Secondly I remember many many years and many world cups where Canada was absent and USA acted as place holder. I will continue to root for both.
I thought the last world cup Canada should have advanced. USA the WC they should have fired the stiff. Last good USA was Bora. Klinsmann

The FOX hosts said it was embarrassing that Canada made it out of the group stage. Not that Canada is a soccer powerhouse but they did win their CONCACAF group to qualify for the World Cup. I think Marsh is a good addition and will bring more of a European flair to the team

About that other thing going on: Just fire him and finish the negotiations later. Get the owners of MLS to kick in 100k because it is in their interest! If they decline just point out to them that competing with the WNBA for TV contracts as the 5th , maybe, largest sports league in in North America! We have one shot as host for the next 20 years or more in 2026. Go all in and hire the best man manager your money can buy who is motivated to take this squad as far as possible through fear and hard work.
You know what none of these pundits have brought up? That Uruguay knew that Balagon was hot and alone up front so they physically beat him to the point that he couldn’t get through the 40th minute. Now that’s strategic management!
Why isn’t he US coach? He’s got a decent record and experience managing in Europe and clearly a better tactician than Berhalter. Above all he would have been relatively cheap which seems to be the most important factor for the US when they have to pay the womens coach the same as the mens despite the huge disparity in global exposure and revenue compared to mens football. This only happens in the US.

The US has not had a good coach since Bora. Bradley, Sampson, Arena, Klinsmann and the current one all stiffs. Maybe the US should hire a Argentinian coach, since their six in Copa America.

I congratulate the Canadians and wish them further success .......BUT ...... I will be hoping that Uruguay meets Canada along the way and Marcello Bielsa gets some glorious payback against his far inferior successor at Leeds. Be very cautious when listening to Marsch, his only real skill is to repeat old cliches and tired quotes that say nothing .... he was not up to the pressure at Leeds and has made a career of talking a good game , but is a manager with no top level qualities.
He also was caught talking to a 12 year old girl. Hes an evil man.
