- For close to a decade, Minecraft speedrunners have been trying to beat the Pre-1.9 versions in 15 minutes. This is the story of how a new meta was developed and countless hours poured into the game by many different runners to eventually complete the quest for sub 15. The sub15 required such a long journey with many ups and downs. I remember when people made jokes about trading, because it seemed so unviable. Nobody, not even me, knew what could be done with this powerful strategy.
A few years later and we accomplished this insane milestone...The video covers perfectly how much work went into this record.
I want to thank everyone, who contributed (even the tiniest bit) to this story!

@@natanaelvicenteferreira590 fun fact: I actually watched a movie during the run without watching the run at all), but in the movie I had the feeling nieuh is on a good run. I stopped the movie, joined the stream and the first thing I saw Was a dragon at 50% of its health at 13:xx.

i watched icebacon when he was hard resetting in 1.16. i was actually the person to get him into trading- he dm'd me one day after one of his streams where we had been discussing trading and his interest. i sent him basic resources and links to discord servers, and once he started his grind, i stuck by his 8 hour streams of just endfights, and eventually his millions of resets. i sadly had my discord account hacked, and ice deleted his account a while back, so the messages are lost. but it's great to see someone acknowledge his dedication. thanks twt. :3

am i missing something or why dont runners just run on 1.3
@@aqts it's even more luck required to get a good run. In addition to that you lose a lot of time to:
- slower crafting
- no sprint key
- worse performance
- lower render distance
- some strats dont work
In theory 1.3 is still faster than 1.8, but you will never see a sub15 in this category
