I stayed away from ordering hair products since December as I have many jars of different products and I even stayed away from your channel and other guys that review hair products. Feels great to be back although staying away made me save money, and this may be the weirdest thing you will ever hear but I had so many great memories with By Vilain products, when I used to have By Vilain products and nothing but By Vilain, I guess I will be ordering the new formula😀

Got the new Dynamite Clay since 2 months now. At First I wasnt sure if i like the new formula. But it tends to be even better, especially the ease of application. Hold is still strong enough to last all day. I am excited what you will tell us about it. greetings from Germany 🤗💇🏻♂️

I feel like when I tried the old formula silver Fox last time, it didn’t provide me that shine that I was looking for. It gave me more of a natural matte finish. I might have to see how the new formula would work with my hair type.
Testing the new version Silver fox almost a month. i do actually like new version more. Insane hold and give more volume. A great product for thin fine hairtype. Hope they will keep this fomula.
It’s definitely different isn’t it! I like it as well. I see a lot of similarities to the old gold digger.

I have 4-5 inch long hair and style it messy and swept back. I used both the Silver Fox and Gold Digger back in 2018 and remember liking them very much. I am about to order them again in the bundle of three, but not sure in what combination. I was preferring Silver Fox due to the natural shine and because I remember Gold Digger being harder to apply especially to longer hair. But now that you mentioned the new formula of GD is easy in its application and Silver Fox is now similar to the OG Gold Digger I'm Confused :D fyi higher end products like claymation or night rider that claim to have a matte finish tend to make my hair look slightly greasy, so I 'm always very careful about the attribute "matte"
I'm so happy that you start growing your hair. I can't wait for the type of recommendations for slightly longer hair. Super slick fade is definitely on the way out, and i think most pomades created in the past 10 years are not built for messier casual look. so I've been struggling to find products since i've grown my hair during the lockdown
I’m excited to see how it goes since it’s been a very long time since I tried it and I have a lot more knowledge and tools now to manage it. I’m also interested in seeing how it goes with all the products folks say don’t work on longer hair. I’ve had folks say the ByVilain stuff shouldn’t work even for the length I’m at now so it should be a fun experiment.
Looking forward to the reviews of the other products, like wax zero and dynamite clay! I would love to see the reviews from you before purchasing the new editions. So far, I think I will pass on the gold digger, but buy this one instead, as I previously was a huge gold digger fan.
Another great review, I like how you compare it with the gold digger, because they are recepie viese very equal, the big difference on the formula of silver fox is the cosmetic silicone that was applied for the shine factor, depending on styling method the wax-base can make it appear more matt like the gold digger. Then there is less water in the new formula, that makes it feel more concentrated, something that is a fine balance, delivering salon grade quality.

I have fine hair and I live the tackiness is there but the old version was too tangly this version isn't hard to style. It is amazing easy to style with and if I have any trouble using a blow dryer to heat the hair and product up makes it super super easy to style. Then use cold setting on dryer to lock it back up
Yep I see it easier as well just like the previous gold digger was easier to style with as well, and then is even easier now that it’s re formulated. This one for sure was drier I think than the older SF was.

Hey there! No I haven’t done any of the Mitchell stuff. I haven’t heard really any good things about them in the past and with everything I’m being sent and all the new stuff coming out I haven’t focused on those.
Now I don't know if I should buy the gold digger or the silver fox. I might as well both now but I know another review is gonna come for the clay and that's gonna make me want all 3

How would you compare the hold to the old Gold Digger? I use the previous formulation GD and love it for the volume and hold it provides, I don't mind the tugging at all. Sacrificing the hold for an easier application (new formula) doesn't sound tempting at all to me. So maybe the new Silver Fox is the way to go from now on. Thanks!
I think it’s somewhat comparable like almost there for me. Like if the old GD was an 8 ( for example) I’d put this one at a 6

looking for some advice my hairs around 3 to 4 inches and I push it back. Today I tried cornerstone as a prestyler with moroccanoil texture clay post styler. It didnt give great hold and was pretty frizzy. Any product recommendations for good hold but nothing too shiny? My hair is also fine
Like how do you get your hair to stay put when moving in your videos. It stays put
hey there! so the cornerstone is great to start with, but I think where things went south is with the post styler. I’d recommend something with a drier finish and feel. my own matte paste would work, or even gold digger from by vilain. there’s like dozens of products that could work for this.

no idea.. they just sent me the entire line like a couple weeks ago so it’s not old or anything.
Try to blowdry the product with hot air.

The scent isn't the same as gold Digger
The smell you are smelling is the cosmetic silicone and for the gold Digger it's is just it's ingredients as well
I think there’s actually a scent in there.. I just discussed it with them actually haha. We discussed the scent in there and how I liked the limited edition one better. If there’s no scent in there they didn’t mention anything about it when they discussed it with me over chat.

Ooh good question! It does in some ways! I think the old one did have a bit less dryness and more of a natural finish instead of a good healthy matte finish. This is becoming quite the brain buster! 😂

@@Ophius well the ingredients suggest they were updated and were not simply swapped. It might have been a coincidence- they could have been just updated based on feedback and that’s how it happened to come out.
@@MMTV Oops, I think that came out wrong. I wasn't insinuating they just swapped the formulas and called it a day. I was referring to it more on a performance basis, whether you feel they (coincidentally) ended up taking each other's spots, or whether the lineup is stronger as a result of the reformulation.

No the new silver Fox is completely Matt I don't know why they fit a headshine It's even more matte than the gold digger
