Hi lads from sunny Spain. I guess the previous one is likely to be my goto for emergency power at home. So far today we have produced 17 kWh from our solar panels and we have a full tank of hot water. Our last electricity bill was 28€ for one month and we have refilled our logstore for 320€ which will be our heating for next winter so we are staying charged.

It strikes me that they should have a model with multiple mains outlets country types. So you could have 2 european and 2 uk etc. etc.

These types of devices are becoming increasingly powerful and compact. One day, with four or five of them and a solar panel, it will be possible to power a large part of a house, drastically reducing the electricity bill.

In addition to checking possible range-adding capacity, it would be wonderful to see how long and how much cooking and entertaining you could do with these battery packs, say on a picnic with music and cooker, etc. Great excuse for a day out, fine wine and food and great views/scenery.

There is a technique of passive cooking. What you do is you bring your stew say to a running simmer and put it into a pre heated vacuum flask. After a couple of hours the food is cooked. Sometimes I cook just meat this way and it is incredibly tender. If you are cooking for a family you can wrap a stewpot in a sleeping bag or quilt to maintain the heat. It's a good method for cooking when you're camping as you save a lot of fuel. In WW2 they used to fill a tea chest with straw place the pot on a bed of straw and then pack more straw around it.

another use case would be could you edit a video on a laptop, while charging Elton on the powerbank with the solar panel fitted to the powerbank, and how long that would last. reason for saying laptop is you still got the battery power to save the project before the laptop switches off.

With my ecoflow delta 2, I worked out how much money I would save by charging it on cheap overnight electricity and replacing more expensive day time electricity. The result was that after the projected manufacturer's life cycles of the unit. It would have paid for the money it cost to buy almost exactly. Therefore a complete waste of money for cost saving. However if you have a logistical use for a power bank, they are very useful but don't expect to save any money at all lol.

That would be rather on the big side for my van too. But thanks to you both, I bought an Allpowers S200 - which is just the right size to fit in the auto radio hole in the dash of my sans permis van. A friend 3 D printed me a shuttle to hold it in the dash. Very pleased with that pack. Powers my Carpuride, bluetooth speaker and LED cab light. My dashcam didn't get on with it though.

Your car is 48v It is what we call a 14s battery - keeping the same wiring but replacing the cells with 280ah you would get 13 kw - about twice the range - it would take twice as long to charge and weigh 74kg - being bigger it would have to be assembled to fit the available space - your R250 looks to be just 1.5KW - inverting 48v DC to 240ac then back down to 48v is full of inefficiencies its better to increase capacity at the source

I know you're meant to read instructions only as a last resort but you should have 2 usb A sockets under each of those lower large size rubber covers giving 6 altogether so you haven't been shortchanged, must say very tempted to get one as with the discount ÂŁ900 and to update battery and inverter on the camper ÂŁ700 thats about a quarter of the price difference a year ago for the versatility gained it's now a reasonable price to pay.
