The lighting on the track while they raced was absolutely ridiculous. When the race starts just light up the track and don't pretend you're in Vegas.
That would be so distracting I've never seen anything like this during a race
It reminded me of a circus, especially the light focused on the leader. WTF. The announcers at these events are getting pretty loud and annoying, too, somewhat like a boxing ringmaster at the start of a fight during intros (at least they quite down when the fight gets started).

I ran in the spotlight at Hayward the previous night, it honestly wasn’t nearly as bad as it looks being a spectator
I was wondering about that. Adds a little different perspective, but I like being able to see all the athletes all the time. Glad it didn’t break your concentration
Even as a spectator (I was) it was fine compared to the video
Spectators that suffer from ocular migraines are going to HATE that lighting....
Is this a track event or light show at a concert. Hope the Olympics don't mimic that.
Unfortunately I bet they will. For some reason track and field keeps putting on these light shows and adding more and more CGI and AI stuff into competitions.

I was there! The lighting in person isn’t bad at all. It really picks up the energy in the stadium! So if you think it looks bad or would be annoying it isn’t. And you should just be there!
Unfortunately far more people will see the race on YT than in person

Agreed on the lighting. Get tired eyes trying to constantly adjust to the strobe lights. What's the point?
The last time I was in lighting like this, I had two light sticks, a whistle and was doing big fish, little fish, cardboard box.

Maybe its just me but i got a headache thinking about racing with the strobing lights on the track.

this is the reason track is so broke no one wants fun, personally lighting and music can actually make a long race not boring for an average viewer

Josh is already - very early season - running faster over 800 than Jacob is capable of. This is why Kerr will win gold in Paris. In championship 1500 racing 800 speed is very important. Kerr is strong, highly unlikely that Jacob runs away from him and as at last year's world champs Kerr takes him ovee the last 150.
Solid run by Kerr. Obviously wanted to run faster and he is in better shape than that but that’s racing.
