I’m 20 and the beginning of this video made me tear up a little bit because I was introduced to the world of motorcycles in a very similar way when I found my moms 1985 Honda rebel with a siezed engine in the shed when I was 15. I got it running, hit the street at 16, and blew the head gasket on the highway. I didn’t know anything about engines so I spent 9 months pulling it apart, putting it together over and over until it ran again. It’s had about 2200 miles on it since I started riding it and has brought the world of motorcycles to me and my 2 best friends that I taught on it. Everybody’s first bike is always an emotional rollercoaster.
Yeah my first one i spent an entire summer to save 2000 for a dirtbike and it had so many problems... I sold it and lost like 400 on it but since then its an addiction and I've owned 5 motorcycles just in the last year. Sportbikes, dirtbikes, minibikes, just never owned a cruiser before. Im getting a dual sport next, I want a XT225 yamaha (street legal dirtbike) because its very lightweight and reliable and I travel in my RV around the country full time. I can take the xt225 offroad, trails, and highway! Its a 6 speed.
yup recently bought my ducatti 848 back with a broken timingbelt currently in the process of repairing the engine and doing some upgrades for common issues and installing a bodykit and a lot of new modern goodies it lived a decent live since i sold it to a mate yes the timing belts where done in time always but for an unknown reason one broke 10000km before the replacement time the belts wherent that old only 3 years as i got those replaced at the dealer as the bikes been maintained at the dealer since i owned it and the next owner did also keep it dealer maintained for 30000km the bike has done atm 91678km currently the engines at a machine shop a friend a mine owns but for a friend price its an 8 month wait thanks to covid as a lot of people are working on their projects atm here doesnt mater anyway as i am waiting on parts from italy the us and germany a few pieces arrived but need an engine to be installed and the previous owner also bought brandnew tires for the bike which i took over and putting on as the tires on it are old and starting to dryrot i still love that bike
Good story bro. It's refreshing that at least one younger feller is in to cool stuff. Many of your contemporaries aren't into anything. My first motorcycle was a 1974 Honda CL200 that my uncle Ed dragged home when I was 14 or 15.
The first motorcycle that I owed is a 1984 Harley Davidson Softail. I still have it. My second was a Honda Rebel 250 that I bought to teach my mother to ride. It is long gone and I regret selling it.
I love how the kid was so happy he was virtually speechless Sean. You stunned him with your generosity. It's blatantly clear he's going to learn what he needs to know about it, restore it, and then enjoy it for years to come.
Man this video took a turn that I least expected it to. Finding a model of bike that first started you on your path and THEN giving it away to start someone else on their path is not what I expected. The dream lives on. God bless you.
What you did for that kid was amazing. He will never, EVER forget it!! God bless you!
That’s awesome man. Glad you found your childhood memory.

Hahahaha that was an interesting way to start the meeting
This made me tear up. I’m nineteen and i built an 80cc motorized bicycle when I was seventeen and was instantly addicted. Six months later I bought my first bike from a close family friend. A 1978 Yamaha DT400. I wound up paying $300 out of the $800 he wanted for it because he told me it was mine on Christmas. Best gift I’ve ever received.
what a kind person we all need more of them in the world these days.
Couldn’t agree with you more brother stay blessed 🙏
God bless srk n god bless you for believing in them
Exactly why I subscribed here love the love they have
So so cool. Being 15 and getting to ride this
Mopeds are where I started too. I have a sweet 77 Puch Maxi in my garage and it’s still a blast to ride.
The smile on your face when you took off on the Garelli was as wholesome as it gets,I imagine it’s the same smile that you smiled when you where 15!!!And you passed that smile on to Alex, this is as good as it gets!!
"The seller has no clue what he's got"... then the seller procedes to give a tour of a garage full of odd vintage bikes that he knows everything about
So true
The guy selling it is fxxking weird. I tried to buy his Allstate a few months ago and he said it was a 58 and has a title of a 58 but it's missing things from the 58 model and when I told him it looks like a 60-62 unless so parts we're changed. He got upset with me and blocked me on Facebook and my phone number. Then the next day he said sorry for getting upset with me... Like WTF

They say that you have to grow-up someday, there are a few of us resisting! Strenuously!
Never. Just getting older.
Yeah no.... my body gets older but the mind stays young
58 and still a kid! I still pull wheelies on my mountain bike as far as you can see me go! When does it stop!!!
@@paulipuhakka8788 it doesn’t brother... They just say it does.. haha
I don't wanna grow up I'm a toys or us kid , my toys are just a little bit bigger then when I was younger.
That kid is awesome! His Schwinn Stingray Fastback is a pretty rare find in all original shape. Good to see young people who are gettin' down with the hobby!
I had that same fastback in green and different handlebars. Bought it new for $75 in the late sixties. Loved it.
I remember those Schwinn bikes.
Called them crates
I know the feeling of finding out these exist when you’re 14 years old and picking one up cheep, best fun for under $100
I'm 14 and I picked up a chinese 150 dirtbike with a parts bike for 100
It was the coolest way to get around
When I was 14 ( 1980) I begged my father for months until he broke down and bought me a brand new 5 star General moped from Rick case Honda in ohio. He paid over $1000.00 for it. That was big money back then. I got a paper route and worked at the restaurant in town as a waitress to pay him back. My moped had the tank on top of the frame, it looked just like a motorcycle. All my girlfriends were jealous, and some boys as well.
I found a 1981 Yamaha xs 400 for 100$ and got it for my 14th birthday
A saying in Norway, the biggest joy in life is making others happy. (Største gleden en kan ha er å gjøre andre glad). You truly live by that 😅 awesome video

Excellent back story love to hear how it all began, your channel and videos have also inspired me to get on two wheels after 15 yrs of first learning to ride on a dirt bike. Now I have two bikes and nothing makes me happier then starting them up hearing the rumble and feeling the wind on the open road. Working on the bikes to add mods and do maintenance is also blissful.
My first motorized bike experience was at 12 on my friend's Peugeot Moped. This video brought all those memories back. Thanks!!
Oh man... I thought you were gonna ride back to the shop on the back of the pit bike with Craig....😂
we were going to but there was not enough room, and too many of my videos have been ending with me riding double lol

Your generosity and giving spirit makes me smile, brother! It’s good people like you that give me hope for this world! God Bless you!
Been following you guys for quite a while now (pre Bikes and Beards) and as much as I love the crazy shenanigans, funny builds and cheapest in Amazon moments, nothing compares to these genuinely kind hearted videos. Keep up the great work!
I was 15, just earned some money redoing my parent garden and drive and I wanted a bike to ride at 16 (moped age in the U.K.). The guy I was working with on the garden said he had an old road legal 50cc dirt bike. My dad took me to have a look, he bumped it down the road and bought it there and then after haggling him down to £50. We spent the winter rebuilding it and powder coating etc. I never got on with my old man but those were the happiest memories I have, second only to my kids being born. This is what biking is all about. The passion, emotions and memories. And passing it on to the next generation. Great work.
Pretty cool. That kid will never forget what you did for him! And it looks like you picked the right kid to give it to, he already has an appreciation for bikes. (Hey, is that Rune in the background the Rune-from-hell again?)
Wish there was someone like this when I was younger, just now getting into motorcycles in my mid 20s but loving every minute
awesome video Sean. You captured what it's all about here. This one feels like the old videos you all used to do on just regular cool bikes. Awesome.
Way to go!!! The recipient seems like a nice young man, and somebody truly worthy of such a gift.
I am sure the begining of your motorcycle career rings true with 90% of your subscribers.
Enjoy all of your videos but this is one of my favourites for sure. Super cool of you to gift him that bike when it would be so easy to justify keeping it for yourself.
Sean; once again you inspire me! Love your generosity and making people feel good about their passions!
Just recently found your channels and I’m glad I did, I’ve been glued to it for days!! I’ve got a 81 Honda CM400C that I recently just got going after it sat in a guys garage for 11yrs.
You know it’s going to a good home when he said he’s going to do some research and fix it up. That bike just got a new life with someone you can tell will love it.
Man, that brings back memories! My dad rode and we had a Garelli Grand Sport that (Black with gold trim and gold mags). That Garelli went through two older sisters and then me.
I'm always amazed at how fast you can go one something like this. My little Puch Maxi has a tiny 38mm piston and can get me to 45mph. So great to see you started out on a little moped and are showing everyone what it's all about!
That’s awesome Sean. The world needs more guys like you. God Bless.
When I saw that motobecane it reminded me of my childhood. I had a motobecane traveler and it was my first “street bike” very cool of you to share your childhood experience with that young man. Paying it forward as usual.
I have a 1958 wards riverside motobecane moped. they're fun, though the forks are a bit spindly.
I know just how you both felt ,brought back so many memories from my childhood getting my first bike given to me
Love the channel
You are awesome for that. I'm 42 yrs old now and like you I was always obsessed with bikes mopeds etc. Had a backyard filled with projects. And never could get them going so I sold them all. But I loved tinkering with them. And finally after so many years I got me a super clean 1979 puch for 60 dollars that i was able to get running but having some problems with it now. But I wouldnt give it up for anything. Thank you for sharing luv the vids.
Your video brought back memories. My first bike was a basket case Garelli Rex. My dad and I put it together and road it on off road trails in the late sixties and seventies. We had a blast on that thing! It's weirdest quirk was you didn't know what direction it would run until you let out the clutch! We were just learning how to time the engine. Wow we were so young and full of energy back then.
Amazing how the best finds are often closer than you think.
I love scooters and mopeds! They are sooooooo much fun.
When are you going to do your big trip on an old Honda Rebel?
Dude, you are so gracious and humble. You are and thank you for keeping humanity alive.
Sean, you are such a good kind man, your generosity knows no boundaries! Thank you for helping make the world a better place…
Massive love from England! Would love for you to come out here and do a shopping spree buying bikes over here
That was awesome!! My grandfather, when I was about that age gave me a 1957 175CC allstate made by sears. It is what gave me the motorcycle passion.
the smile on your face is what this is all about! my first bike that started it all was a 1996 Honda cr125. I was 13 thought I knew it all, rebuilt it and forgot to change the oil (did top end) turned out a chunk from the old ring came back up and destroyed the jug! we live and learn! you're a good dude!
Oh my gosh, 33 years ago when I was 14 my first ride was a 50cc Vespa Ciao moped very similar to the Garelli of the video. I could totally relate to what you were saying, my Vespa was awfully slow and because of its color and noise it earned the nickname of the Green Hornet. But at that time it mainly meant freedom for a teenage kid on the streets of Guadalajara, Mexico. Thanks for sharing.
Miss my first moped, Honda pa50. Loved learning about things like carbs at that age

Best video ever. You made a 15 year-old kid happy with no thought of reward for yourself. He will never forget your act of kindness and someday I feel he will will pay it forward.
Congrats, man! I have a permanent search on Ebay for the color/model Puch moped that put me on the streets in the 7th grade due to a family death. I'm on my 7th HD now....I'm only 53 but I've ridden 2 wheels in all 5 of my decades and legally on the roads for 41 years now. I'm sure that is really special and probably will be a treasure you'll keep forever. 👊
That’s a neat moped. I like the wire baskets.
Congratulations! A moped was my way into motorcycles too.
Never owned a moped, but I do know the feelings you’ve expressed. My first bike was a 1974 Yamaha DT100 enduro; got it when I was around 12 or 13. I loved it.
We lived about a mile from the Cedar River. “The Pits” was a huge wooded area, with tons of trails, that originally was used for excavating sand from the river banks. I had cousins and friends who lived within a couple blocks of me and they also had similar bikes.
In the summer, we would tell our moms we were all heading to The Pits for the day. My Mom would generally reply, “Be safe and remember everybody needs to WALK their bikes to the gravel road (next to The Pits).”
Of course we walked them, about a block, then everyone fired them up and off we went. Man we had so much fun on those trails; they had hills to climb, a “race track” with a great table top jump, creeks to cross, etc. Good times.
Thats just too cool! That 15 y/o will remember this and in 15,20,30 yrs it will still be one of his best memories. Just like when my dad took me to get my first bike! He bought it I worked on the farm to repay it. Never really ever repayed the 400 dollar loan from dad just because that 400 just didnt equate to the whole experience. If he was alive today I would still be working for him to repay that original loan in 1981.
So cool!! Honda trail 70 was my first “gateway “ bike. Changed my life!
Love it!
Great friday story. The birth of Sean 2.0!
Love the garelli, super glad to see you picking up some mopeds. I currently own 55 of them in all different brands. I’ve been doing what you do on a small scale. When I stumbled upon your CZcams I was encouraged to grow more. I hope to one day make a living off of what I love. I absolutely love 2 wheels man. Keep showing us some mopeds! Should have picked up that motobecane mobylette. Thing sells for $1,200 all day and in the condition he had it in even more!
Awesome that you got to relive your childhood memory with this moped and it looks like a ton of fun.i'm 20 and i own a scooter and despite not being a "real" motorcycle it's so much fun,i'm sure he will love it and take great care of that little bike
I just recently got my 14yo a Tomos A35 TT. He rides it to school.
Sean, you sir are an inspiration. Not only in many aspects of the riding lifestyle but also in faith based strengths, perseverance, and general good will. Absolutely love it my friend. Have a great one! And great video and story..thank you
Sean you don't drive bikes mate watts wrong with you.
@Raymond Williams I've never "DRIVEN " a bike either. I've only been riding them since the mid- late 80s. One thing that I can point out that's wrong with you're statement, ( Your structure is so terrible;I'll refer to it as a statement rather than a question,) is that " WATTS" is a well known city in California. Most notably for the fire engulfed riots, and not in fact a pronoun. Swing and a miss, but nice try.....mate
A buddy of mine found a garage kept 1979 vespa grande with 99 original miles on it. It still had all of the original tool kit and the original tube of oil to mix with the gas. Original Perelli tires that still, and still do, hood air. Turns out the original owner bought it new about an hour away from where it was found. Original owner put exactly one tank of fuel thru the moped and then it was parked, never to be ridden again until a year ago.
I like seeing guys do what I’ve done all my life, I’ve given so many bikes away to those that couldn’t afford a bike throughout my life. It is better to give than receive so bless you brother. I don’t have a bike anymore as I gave my Vulcan nomad to a man who had his bike stolen. Can’t wait to afford my next machine but as my wife keeps saying I’d probably give that away too 🙏🙏👊👍 shame I live in Australia as you get some great rides in your shop
That's a class act right there, folks!
I love his short ramblings LOL
In the late 1980's my son discovered a 90 CC brigstone mc. I showed him how to get it running and he sold it for profit. Then another and then another ! Soon there was half a dozen little bikes driving around the UNINCORPORATED AREA. Drove ( short drive ) neighbor's NUTS ! A PUCH moped was belong my sons friend, no muffler, super loud. Perfect. Perfect 12 year olds life. I miss it badly. I can still smell the 2 cycle mix !
More than all the great bike content, It's your genuine kindness and generosity that i enjoy most.
I rememeber my first little moped. It was a honda elite. Miss that thing:(
I was riding a "peddle and go" few years ago in Turkey was fun lol
That was so cool not just to fine one of them but to actually pass it to a young teenager. My first one at 13 was give to me and it's what got me started. Then I eventually got two more. I still have one left in the family Barn we boarded it out and modified the carb and breather with a straight pip. Got a speeding ticket on it 55 in a 35 at 16 years old. I road these all the way till my early 20's. A bunch of us boys and girls would ride these and other rare mopeds 265 miles from Columbia, SC to Myrtle Beach, SC every summer. Thank God for you sharing this you really brought back some good old memories of mine from the 70"s and 80's we are definitely blessed. Ride on Brother, Bo

Wow dude your smile was worth like $4000 at least right there
My Grandfather had stories of a moped he found while Deployed in World War II that he loved and screwed around on.
Found. 😂
I had that exact moped when I was about 12, the Garelli, I played on that thing every day for two years until I got something a bit bigger, one thing is for sure they are reliable and fast compared to today's restricted mopeds, my brother "sorted it out" decoked, new points condenser plug HT lead and reamed the carb out increasing the volume by 3-4mm and up jetted it, pod filter, it was like turbo moped after that, it shares common components with the Gillera moped, mine had the square plastic headlight speedo unit, PS that kid is now finished with bicycles, well done, moved him up a gear,
I started riding my sisters abandoned old german sachs moped. I only had 3rd gear, but to me it didn't matter. To me it was complete freedom. I was only 12 at the time but I felt like Steve McQueen. Good man for paying it forward! Respect! Kind regards/ Henrik, a Swede in the UK.
