I love how supportive women were toward each other in the era. This generation should take notes.
You obviously don't know the inside stories and drama. But Missy is special. She always was supportive of other women.
@@politereminder6284 yes which was the point of my comment. There was plenty of drama however, women were definitely more supportive toward each other than they are now.
Absolutely!
Not as dramatic as these new Day celebrities. Miss this era!
susanne anique even still you didn’t see it every two minutes and they cooperated enough to make us think it didn’t happen unlike the newbies.
What productions! Timba and Missy simply stood out for their musical quality and not for their beefs, scandals, sexism, violence and drug glorification.
THANK YOU. I miss the days where talent and ingenuity is what got you notoriety not talking about your WAP.
Still bumping in 2024! Missy made timeless music and Timbaland made timeless tracks! Undefeated combination, those two!

I recently found out that this beat was sampled from Ann Pebbles - I Can't Stand The Rain.
I totally agree! This is still so fire in 2020. I guess isn't usually listed with the best hip hop beats of the 90s because of sexism.

why , what is the criteria to get in RRHF? Music is a form of art, therefore, very subjective, which dumbfounds me why there is a RRHF at all. Of course the sales of the record speak volumes in itself, but, back to the original question, what is the criteria???

People really don't give credit where credit's due. Yeah the video got praise but this particular song is the reason why the late 90s/early 2000s sounded the way it did. Nobody other than Missy's squad were laying down multi-patterned beats that had layers & layers of instruments and beatboxing, and each time other envious producers tried to mime their intricate sound they would always fail miserably. I still to this day don't understand with so many eye-popping visuals, freaky beats and her not fitting the "expected norm" of a female image, she still goes underrated. (DEEP SIGH) I guess she will always be a national treasure to those that genuinely understood where she was coming from with these groundbreaking ideas, and that is fine (I guess). But until then... *sings* I can't stand Missy being underrated *sings*

I don't understand why they don't make music videos like this anymore!!! It looks so fun
Hype Williams is the guy who made these fish eye outlandish music videos, his protege Director X has a similar attitude towards over the top fun videos, but hype was the #1.
Also this style of video looks amazing on older box televisions, it doesn’t translate as well to widescreen TVs or computers/phones. Also there is less money made off videos and music in general now a days, people have to have smaller budgets.
This type of video is really expensive to make. You can’t make as much money from music sales anymore.
The fisheye lens effect really only pans to a certain audience - while fantastic if used correctly, if overused it just loses that iconic value of 90s hip hop.
I'm here now!
