- Meet Marc Russell who went from foster care to building my own financial platform. In between those points of his life, he was adopted into a low-income family, put himself through college by working odd jobs (cutting hair out of my dorm room, selling plasma, handing out business flyers, etc.) and finessed my way into one of the largest investment managers in the world, The Vanguard Group. As he was helping investors build their portfolios, he realized that he was living paycheck-to-paycheck and $80k of debt. At that point, he went on a quest to pay off that debt

I have 1 gripe. Dudes family income was not below poverty. 60k was actually more than 50% of US households. He doesn't recognize the privilege of at least being middle class.
