Here I have told you something about how NSCN was split from the Naga National Council or the Federal Government of Nagaland. The bitter truth behind. Many Nagas thought that the NSCN was separated from the NNC/FGN due to the Signed 'SHILLONG ACCORD'. No, this is wrong. When we look back the Naga history from 1965 to 1979, we can clearly understand what was happening during this decade. I honestly said, that before the Shillong accord was signed the NSCN leader's ideology was already separated. This Shillong accord signing was the 'Scapegoat' of the NSCN. They had been already planning to be separated, but due to no way, they couldn't. This Shillong Accord signing was not a betrayal agreement when thoroughly examined in reality but it was brainwashed to the Naga people only. The NSCN leaders were also not Present in Nagaland. When the Shillong Accord was signed they returned on the way to Nagaland from China. They didn't know what was happening in Nagaland from 1972 to 1975. During that time, the Naga National Workers had no place to escape due to Operation constantly. The GoI declared the 'Unlawful Activities Prevention Act and declared a national emergency by the prime minister, Indira Gandhi. They had killed thousands of Naga's innocent and National workers. Therefore, most of the Naga tribes were completely surrendered to GOI. Whereas, a few 'do or die' were signed to save Nagas which was initiated by the Naga peace council. Fortunately, the agreement became invalid for both Naga and India was not ratified. Till today, India is not allowed to speak about the Shillong accord.

What about the pioneer freedom fighters, Haipou Jadonang, and Haipei Rani Gaidinliu? It is very unfortunate that such great souls are not recognized or acknowledged by the Nagas of Nagaland. They were not just religious leaders or rebels from Zeliangrong Naga community. They paved the way for Nagas self determination. Even the Britishers acknowledged it as "Naga Raj". There are wrong perceptions about their struggles. They've never joined the Naga Club or associated themselves with any Naga's frontal organizations at that time. But, they fought the mighty British and against the alien rule. For which even the Indian government recognized their contributions and honored Gaidinliu, Naga lady with the title, "Rani", which is the most highest title to have achieved among the Naga women. She is also the receipiants of the prestigious awards, " Tamra Pattra" and "Bharat "Bibhushan" among others. Nagaland became a full-fledged state only in 1963. The Naga freedom movement was started in full swing after the 1940's but, Jadonang Naga Raj began from 1920's to early 1930's. Jadonang was hanged unto death at Imphal on 29th August, 1931 for waging war against the British Raj. Gaidinliu continued the movement till 1947. She went to jail for 15 years and subsequently released on 15th August, 1947, by the then Prime Minister of India Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru. Is it a wise decision to ignore such great pioneers of Naga's freedom movement simply because, they didn't represent the whole Naga fraternity or don't belong to the present Indian State of Nagaland? Let us not forget that the Nagaland was created to appease our freedom movement. The disturbed areas Act was imposed in the Zeliangrong region in line with other Nagas areas.( both in Nagaland (as well as in Manipur) for fighting against the British and Indian government simultaneously under the leadership of A.Z. Phizo. Are our contributions for Naga's self- determination not at par with the counterpart in Nagaland? Even today, many recalled the horrors of Naga's independent movement of the 1950's-1960's. Are we( Zeliangrong tribes ) not Nagas? Why calling us Kacha Nagas? It's time to give these answers.
