Interesting. You are using their Small Clumps brush. With that one you do horizontal sections, like you are, but you use the brush up near your roots and roll it with some tension until the white comb comes through to separate.
You can do other brush stuff with it.
If you like large clumps and spiral coiling the one without the white comb and go vertical and wrap hair around tail.

You should still be able to make large clumps with the small clump brush. You just wouldn't use the white comb part of it. I'm pretty sure the other side is the same on both brushes.

I think on their website they demonstrate how they recommend using this particular brush. You are supposed to run your hair through both side(not one or the other) - one side detangles and helps with the clump forming, and the other one separates bigger clumps into smaller/thinner clumps for more volume.
I have low density, extremely fine, quite long hair and I really like this brush. I enjoy the large clumps brush more, though. This is the one without the second, more sparse bristles row. I also like brush coiling with the handle - it works miracles for me.

Also, the video they had listed on their website/blog only showed how to use a one-sided brush for either big clumps or curl training around the handle so that’s why I did one or the other 🤷🏽‍♀️

@@EssentiallyErynne yeah, I definitely think since the brush has a rather unique design, some “how to use” pictures/directions that could go with the brush itself would be really helpful. It took me some time to figure it out. But now that I have, I am very happy with the brush (so happy that I have both - double-sided and one-sided)
I would be really curious to know if your opinion changes with time, if you happen to use the brush again.
Also, after watching your videos, I am now wanting to try the Behairful brush🤤 and compare the two.

@@alisa1463 I loooove my behairful brush but it doesn’t work for everyone (just like any brush ha). It’s definitely more expensive than most brushes but my fine, low density 3B hair loves it 🙌🏽

@@EssentiallyErynne yeah, the only place I've seen scrunch it actually show how to use this brush is if you search in CZcams, for scrunch it small clumps brush, you'll find a bunch of stuff for the regular one, & like 1 quick video from scrunch it on this brush where they just show it making one pass thru the hair, with the bristle side near the root, and then they sorta coil it on e around the brush so that after you use the tension & smoothing of the bristles, you run the "teeth" thru for the rest of the pass down the hair to separate. 🤷🏽‍♀️ I tried to do it once like I saw in the video, but without actual explaining or seeing multiple angles, I don't think I was getting it quite right. My hair tends to over clump, so I wanted the small clumps one, but now I wish I had gotten the original, and I could always use a wide tooth comb or my fingers to separate the big pieces right after running the brush thru. Idk. You know how it is though, brushes aren't for everyone, and those who like them like different ones!

I LOVE your curls! They would look absolutely amazing if you did platinum blonde cap highlights on them - the contrast of mixed light and dark hair strands would maximise the visual impact of your curl texture. Would make a great video as well!

Hi there. Thank you for making this video.
HOWEVER...I hope you will consider making another one ....because the small clump brush is not meant to be used as a detangler and IS DESIGNED to use tension as you pull it thru your hair and sort of twist it so that BOTH SIDES go thru your hair.
I start with the boar bristle side and twist til it then goes thru the white spokes. That is what makes the small clumps.
Their large clump brush is just the boar bristles and makes much larger clumps.
I have both and love thrm. I especially like that I can use the handle for sectioning AND for COILING.
PLEASE give it another try and see if you notice a huge difference. ;)

When I’ve seen the scrunch it brush used by others, they twirl their hair around the handle. It looks very awkward. I’ll stick with my Behairful brush or my Tangle Teaser (so?).

I bought the behairful brush and hated it! Which I was really shocked at. It didn’t detangle my hair as well as the tangle teezer does. I tried it on soaking hair and damp hair and I still felt that the tangle teezer is better. The bristle were so hard it scratched my scalp 😖, For a brush so expensive (and I’m from the UK, so had to pay for shipping) it was a complete let down.

@@marthajohnson3250 I love my Curl Keeper brush! It doesn’t form the best clump for my hair when styling so I primarily use it for detangling & normally keep it in the shower.
