No matter how much money he has made, he always remembers where his roots are from. Humble man, Serge.
the african players in NBA are the best. Mutumbo is a great person too and Biyambo
amen
meanwhile embiid out here eating burgers before games LMAOO
Yeah pretty humble because he eats food that he loves. And even more humble when he shows up at he restaurant to pick his food up.
+youpindra that stuff looks good... Africans eat well
True African . Eating with his hands no matter how rich he got.
He can easily afford to have someone put food in his mouth
I lived in india for 4 years when I was young and eating with your hands made the experience of eating food so much richer 👌👌
Lmao i couldnt even eat any meats with sauce (except western dishes) without using bare hands tho
Jack Mehoff who gives a fuck?
Jack Mehoff analbania
He seems so well mannered and just such a nice person I’m so happy that he won his championship. The cook she is all smiles
He is so nice
"well mannered" smh
@zGettingMoney I never said he wasn't. He seems like he is tbh
@@idontwantone132 why did u say smh then
@@wdymbro7442 cuz mfs only call black people "well mannered" as if they expected different.
Thank you to introduce our Congolese dishes to the world . We all are proud you, Serge Ibaka
Now, I want to try this food 😜😋
@adam brown Confusingly, there are two countries named Congo. Serge was born in Brazzaville, Rep. of the Congo, not the Democratic Rep. of the Congo [Kinshasa] where all the wars and troubles have been for the past many years.
Hello😁 May I ask, what are the names of the foods he was eating???
@adam brown shut the fuck up
@adam brown you have to be trolling dude, there's no way that you are not.
When Ibaka lights up when talking about the food he's eating, you can see it transports him to another time. The power of nostalgia. Love it.
Facts 🙏 🙏
If i Was a millionaire I would go to this restaurant to eat this food too!!! Makes me emotional.
Anyone knows where to buy pandé? In europe? Im graving for it
Serge is cool af. Also, can't believe he goes to this place! I've driven past it on a regular basis for the past 10 years and always intrigured by it lol. Good on him to support local businesses and this will surely boost her business! :-)
I lived just up the street. Crazy small world.
He does not go to that place, the place goes to him.
Nothing like the food from home
I am big fan kaysha
The fact that he was speaking lingala aswell 😍😍
It's magical, what a home cooked meal can do for a person.
Its called soul food
This video made me really happy for some reason lool .... LETS GO RAPTORS
It's because you are a beautiful soul all praises to the most high Yah 🙌🙌🙌🕎💖💯
Chris Adasme food from someone’s home country stays in a special place in peoples hearts ♥️
I am from the future and I am telling you that you Raptors will make it to the finals in 2019
Nothing like Mom's home cooking... I miss you Mom, love you 😳
@Tor Teo that's a feminist.
Tor Teo shut the fuck up
Nicola Is my drug I feel you miss my moms too and she used to go crazy in the kitchen 🙏🏾
@Youre On Stolen Land shut the fuck up
Rip sorry for your loss
Instead of eating from a 5 star restaurant or having a personal chef, he supports her business. Money didn’t change him
Bismack was a real Toronto product. Still miss him.
PORTAL >>> BIZZMACK
ManWhoLostTooth we all do. Biz brought a lot of heart and culture to our team and was a much needed boost at the time. Glad he still has love for Toronto. Not mad that he opted for more money with Orlando either, cause Biz does a lot of community work where ever he goes and the money certainly helps him on his misson. (Long winded comment, But Biz and Ibaka for that matter deserve all the love and appreciation they get)
Sabih Nayyer poetl
Bizz was the man but he wanted to cash his great season and playoffs, happy for him cause it worked out for both of us. Our bench would not be as fluid offensively with Bizz, we are better off with Poeltl and Siakam for two way play
Tical Hezzy he wanted to stay with Toronto even if it meant a pay cut but we had ZERO cap so we couldn’t resign him
Such a good dude. He seems like a happy child in front of all that food.
It’s beautiful that he could find a little piece of “home” in Toronto. There’s nothing like cultural comfort food. ❤️
I live in Toronto. It’s has sooo much diversity. You can find food from everywhere in this earth. Good authentic grub made by people from that country. We are lucky.
Am so proud of my congolese culture.
Best food, best music, best dancers 🇨🇩❤️❤️

We need some more african restaurants everywhere, healthy and GOOD 🤤
Mate, most of what she was making in the video are deep fat fried. Maybe good, but hardly healthy.
Roz Sa Lol
@Derrick Langford How can fried foods be healthy ffs?
Derrick Langford foods fried in fat/oil lose their healthfulness. So yes, fish is a healthy food but when you deep fry it you’ve made it unhealthy.
I remember in Houston there's a lot of Nigerians and there are restaurants there so if you anywhere near Houston give it a shot man
Why didn’t I get this recommendation two years ago 😭🙌🏾 love my people and the food 😋😋🇨🇩🇨🇬
Urgh fried plantain is everything 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍

I respect how much that he loves his home country and culture so much.
I now feel like planning a road trip to Canada just to eat at this place
Its weird to me that americans will refer to any place within Canada as 'Canada'. Like you didnt say "i feel like planning a trip to Toronto".
No criticism, its just odd to me. As though to americans all of Canada is just one place
people from other countries do the same
@@leorickt.9604 bit if they aren't Canadian, then it's not a problem. What of they actually don't know where Toronto is?
@@proscoviaotim6040 he does play for the TORONTO raptors. It probably does come with knowledge of the geography, but when americans tell people they went to canada, its just Canada. Its not Montreal, Toronto.... when canadians have been in the states they tell people "i was in Texas/LA/wherever".
@@leorickt.9604 you also have to understand that American knowledge isn't the same as the rest, no offense to them.... so just go with the flow.
“I have too many memories, good and bad. But put all those memories together, and it makes my heart happy.” What a genuine guy.
I'm hungry as hell now after watching this mini-documentary. Although I am Jamaican and love my Jamaican food to death, I might have to try some Congolese food. Serge is a hell of a player and if he says something is good, I'll take his word for it.
Klay Anthony Clarke Favorite dish?
Jaylen *Straightoutda80s* Brown if you mean my fav Jamaican dish, I can eat Rice and Peas with Jerk Chicken everyday. I also love Ackee or Callaloo and Saltfish. I love festival, dumpling, plantain, jackfruit, etc. Overseas food is a vibe and takes me away from this cancerous fast food in the US.
African food is amazing! Try Ivorian food too. Very similar to Jamaican food, down to the sorrel with ginger that they make. They make a grilled chicken like jerk chicken, and a fish dish that's close to escoveitch with onions and carrots and vinegar
Oh my! You reeled me in with the sorrel and ginger talk. At this point in my life, I just wanna travel and eat. I can't take school anymore.
That's precisely what I do! Lol...city-wide, country-wide and internationally. Food is life!
Love Congo from Egypt one Africa
That smile when he opened the door for her. Man was in love. I'm trying her restaurant next weekend and I'm so excited.
Nothing can beat my congolese food! 😄😄🤗🤗💪💪👍👍👏👏👏
🇨🇩❤💪🏿
I liked how they packed the food so nicely. I wonder how much he pays them. This lady must be like a second mom to him. It’s beautiful how he sticks to his roots. He also says he goes back regularly every year which is great.
Now that's how a true African enjoys and appreciates home delicacy. Some will want to use cutlery.👍👍👍
bless her heart. That's a lot of hard work cooking and delivering food. I know she only delivers to select clients but still that's a lot.
She's getting paid so I'm sure she ain't complaining also gets to rub shoulders with celebrity
He's not be playing for OKC no more, but i'll always have love for Ibaka the shot blocka!
Iblocka!!!
now he can finally have african food again lmaooo no wonder kd left
apparently he left his shot blocking in Oklahoma
I know it’s not Congolese. But, what I was in high school I was friends with a guy and his older brother who immigrated from Ethiopia. So we would always go over to his place after school. And his mom would always have this amazing smelling traditional Ethiopian food being cooked and would give me some. I remember the first time I tried it. It was the spiciest thing I had ever eaten, but was so god damn good! His whole family couldn’t help but laugh, as I sweat my ass off every time. Reason I say that is because they make some good damn food in Africa. Good times!
oOTyLeROo1000 you were probably eating injera with lots of different sauces.
barento badry it was amazing. Thank you!
It thought Ethiopian food was no food
@@ArrowToDaFackenKnee Nah that’s Ireland. Except those potatoes I guess
He's a very humble man.
The Serge bring that Energy to whatever roster he on! Keep striving for Greatness Brotha.
He's happy and proud to eat food from his country, not saying anyone elses type of food is bad but it's okay to own and embrace your cultural roots, especially when the food is prepared with good health in mind. One doesn't need to subject to self righteous people who feel like they're culture and food is any better than, and yours is the lessor.
Somewhere In The Middle well said
LOL There's no such thing as Wakanda, these Congolose foods are all from French recipes using herbs and spice brought back from the Americas by European explorers, so say thank you to the colonizers #LOL

And the food's good too, amirite?

Donald Truump someone trying to get their daily dose of attention? You bored buddy? Trying to hit your racist quota for the day? I recommend you go do something you enjoy, nice walk by the beach maybe? Or maybe camping trip to reconnect with nature? no reason for you to be sad and broken inside, life is beautiful.
Donald Truump god loves you. It will be okay. Please don’t hurt yourself. You will get over your fears my brother. If you need anything let us know, we are here for you. This is why Toronto is a great city. Few will have the same, welcoming and thriving culture of diversity as Toronto. All metropolitan cities have a lot of multiculturalism, but there just seems to be something different about Toronto. I've been to a few of the world's biggest cities and it's definitely true. Most I know that have traveled through it feel the same.

I wanted an indepth description of each dish though, but he seems like a sweet person the chef too 👌🏻
the two green vegetable dishes you saw, are called fumbwa (wild spinach in peanut butter stew) and pondu (cassava leaves stew infused with lots of vegetables. Courgettes, aubergines, bell peppers, onions, garlic, leeks, celery and vegetable seasonings are typically used some ppl also include spring onions too). Very delicious when made right. The side dish (couldn’t tell what it was from the angle) is either called fufu, which is made from either semolina or corn flour or kwanga (fermented cassava which comes from a manioc plant) the rest, were fish and chicken, from what I saw.
