  • Mercedes-Benz ML W166 dash cam front and rear camera install with hardwire kit.
    Note: you should always test the cameras before installing them.
    I installed a Mini 0906 dash cam and hardwire kit in my 2015 ML350.
    The hardwire kit has three wires, ground, ACC(yellow) and constant 12V (red).
    The ACC is tapped to fuse 147.
    The constant 12V is tapped to fuse 127.
    Running the cable behind the air bag was fairly simple.
    Running the cable for the rear camera took the most time.

    Thanks so much, I would never have had the courage to start removing trim, I installed on a 2016 GLE350. Fuse 147 wouldn't clear the wire, so I used the cigar lighter fuse.

    Thank you for taking the time to make such a detailed video. It made a very difficult install relatively easy!

    Great video, pro tip: you can actually run your wires through the hole at 17:26 so that your wire can go from under the front trim panel directly to under the rear trim panel.

    where did you connect to ground wire to by the way (resolved)
    I just found out the ground terminal is a little further towards the center of the rear seats next to the fuse box. you'll have to lift up the carpet a little to see it. However I am not sure how to connect to it since there is so little room to work with. I just connected mine to the seat bolt for now, hopefully it won't shock whoever is sitting in the back or start a fire or sth

      hi, the seat bolt is fine. It's only 12 volt so it won't shock anyone 🙂

      hi, no, this is a dash cam, not a reverse camera

    Can you share where you connected the ground wire? Mine doesnt have ground lug close by.. and the seat bolts are painted on mine and may not give a good ground connection. The two lug nuts in fuse box dont appear to be grounds.

      hi, I don't remember needing to ground any cable. it was just the big square plug and a few plugs for the screen.

    Just a question, where did you ground the power cable?

    • @kenkanfix
      @kenkanfix  Před 3 lety

      Hi, I grounded it to the bolt for the rear seat above the fuse box where I tapped the fuses.

    Why didn't you use the fuse box on the side of the dashboard instead of going all the way to under the seat?

    • @kenkanfix
      @kenkanfix  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi, I didn't know which fuse to use for permanent 12v on the side panel. I figured I would have more options with fuse box under the rear seat.
