Prior owner comments- I put that shade cover to keep the afternoon sun off of the end of the house because it was my son's room (yes, he picked the green paint!!). If you are not using that room then shade not needed!! Protecting vehicle is more important for your needs!! Love the fence around the house and guest house, something I always wanted to do!! in stead of oil on your wood to prevent rot you should try using a torch and scorching the wood, that prevents rot as well. halifax Nova Scotia canada.

The shed at an angle is the way to go. That’ll look good. I like the idea of the concrete walkway along side the shed.

I still do the rollup door, but do the rollup door on both sides, so it can be a full crew in case you want something more than a push mower in your backyard

You should make that structure out in the field a tin roof with some sort of drainage system into a water catch so you have pools of water near it for the animals or emergencies since you have so many rain storms
You should put a 3cyl diesel in the mini truck

Great video as always. Have you considered putting a 10' or 20' shipping container where you are going to build the shed? I'm sure it'd be a lot cheaper than building an actual shed/garage there plus you can move it wherever you need or want it and they're completely water.

Love the projects, it gives me ideas to tweak and make my own house come together especially the guest house. I know the critiques in the comments get wild but for this one would be cool to see a one car garage there or taking out that wall and making the music room and this area a two car garage. I know that’s probably something you want to do it’s just 100x more expensive lol

I don't get it.. why not just build it so its not squared (as in, include the weird shape against the stone wall while still keeping it paralell with the main house)? Sure, it won't be square, but it will give you a tiny bit more room inside, and the extra space will be exactly where you plan to store your bikes, so i don't see a negative with it. When everything on the property is somewhat wonky, why not just lean into it and keep the wonk alive? :)

Following the fence line is what I did with my shed. My house is just before a cul-de-sac, so my fence line angle is very similar compared to the house. With it parallel with the house, but next to the fence, I thought it looked weird. It looked like the fence came second.
