    Re FDJ contract: The reason his wages are so high is that he had differed wages from covid which is now being paid weekly. His actual wages are circa 300-350k per week (still high, but not the ~700k thats been rumoured).
    If you factor in Spains harsher taxes for high earnings, taking a pay cut to just under 300k would be in line with Arsenal's highest earners and would actually be a wage rise in real terms after taxes. Wages shouldn't be a concern to get that deal done if there's a hint of a chance we can get him

We need to start giving these youngsters a run. There's no point ending up buying them back for £80m in a couple of years after they have left.

    Hi Charles and TNAT!
    While other clubs are busy doing their business it seems relatively a lot quiet around the Emirates. We do know that Arteta loves to move silently and play close to the chest. Last summer transfer window, Havertz,Timber and Raya were all surprise signings(Raya had links before we bough Ramsdale but it was a surprise nevertheless). Do you reckon we will see some more surprise signings this window too? I can't imagine who our attacking addition and Declan's new partner will be but surely Arteta and Edu is doing their business under the radar?

    Hi Charles on Frenkie De Jong, it's my understanding that the huge wages are because they owe him a lot of money due to their financial issues plus a lack of revenue during the lockdowns. But I wanted to ask which player is our replacement for Ødegaard do you think Vieira can step up or maybe Arteta can use Havertz in that position. Plus we need cover for Saliba as well. We all knew what happened couple of seasons back when Saliba was injured and the partnership between Gabriel and Holding was not upto the mark.

    @AJ-cy6iz Před 7 dny

    Regarding patience with transfers, this is a tricky window, but one of the keys to success over the last three summers has been decisive early business helping with a solid preseason and early start to the season, with the opposite being some later windows under Arsene where it was often about waiting for last minute opportunities. We have a tough start to the season and definitely don’t want to be playing too much catch-up from early on, so patience while these summer international tourneys play out is fine, but not too much!

      @yusufe9465 Před 7 dny

      @AJ-cy6iz Před 7 dny

      @@yusufe9465I don’t think budget is so much of a problem. We have money to spend before accounting for sales. Selling is probably more of an issue in terms of not having obvious surplus in the squad that buying clubs know we are then desperate to sell, so I agree on that dimension.

  • @JackHandysideMusicUK
    @JackHandysideMusicUK Před 7 dny

    Hi Charles & TNAT,
    Of course everyone is desperate for attacking cover, but surely there has to be some transfer priority in getting cover for Saliba this summer? He played every single minute of PL football last season and we don't have an obvious RCB player that can slip into that position if Saliba gets injured or needs a rest. With Walters probably going and the team slimming down massively this summer there's no obvious cover. We also know Arteta is mad on prioritising defence as a platform for attack (just like Pep).

    Hello Charles!
    I have a question about the Arsenal youth players. Seems like there's a lot more talk in the last couple years about youth players. However with how high the level is at the club and Arteta's seeming lack of interest in giving playtime to subs like ESR, Nelson, and Vieira (let alone youth players like Nwaneri or Cozier-Duberry), do you think there's a path for Arsenal youngsters to get in the first team? If so, what is it? It seems like a lot of the prospects like Biereth or Patino would rather just go somewhere else and get assured play time than stay at Arsenal.

    Hi Charles what a ridiculous thing to say the Sambi got plenty of opportunities that’s completely incorrect!!! When Xhaka was injured he came in and played well, he even got motm against Newcastle but as soon as Xhaka was fit he was back in.
    Same like ESR last season some players no matter how they play Arteta will still bench them, Emile motm vs Luton when he started his first game in however long NEVER got another start.
    Whereas Havertz was given game after game to improve and work himself into the side and look what happened to him. If you’ve played a good standard of football you’ll know what it’s like to be given trust and respect and game time, your words for Arteta is that he doesn’t ‘trust’ players. Not true he simply doesn’t allow them the game time to shine.
    I’ve said this to you before if you take Pep he’ll play his players in bulk throughout the season so they’ll all be ready why he needs them eg’ Doku and Grealish, Alveres and Haarland all the defenders play throughout the season even without injuries!!
    So back to the point you made Sambi wasn’t given the fair enough chance like some others, FACT!!

    Gary Neville🙄made the case for Rice to play as a 8 at least for England and you could argue he meant the same for club also. I am not sure why we have to pigeon-hole him when he can do both 6&8 we can use him beside another player that can also do both and either assign them their position game by game or as they get accustomed to each other's game, adapt to in-game situations.

    • @youandme9569
      @youandme9569 Před 7 dny

      Because as great as Rice may be when it comes to protecting the back 4 and tracking back, you see so many deficiencies in his game with all the simple progressive passes he refuse to make or isn’t capable of making. And when you’re playing for a team that dominates the ball and isn’t supposed to sit back and absorb pressure like West Ham, that lack of ability to make those passes that keeps the offense on schedule becomes apparent why Rice shouldn’t play the 6 for ball dominant teams and you don’t have to be a broadcaster to notice that. These passes we speak of isn’t Odegaard level passes expected to dissect defenses to put a striker thru for one on one with the keeper - they are merely passes your cdm needs to make regardless of how good every forward player is to maintain the attacking momentum before the defense gets set. To put it simply, it’s the grease that keeps the gears churning and Rice doesn’t have that in his game which is why our offense bugs down when Rice plays the 6. You can get away with Rice as a 6 against average team because eventually one of your forward might produce something individually to get you a goal. But against good teams the offense slows down and everything becomes a chore. Jorginho might be on his last legs and can’t run anymore but he suits Arsenal better playing the 6 position than Rice because he can still make these simple passes we speak of. Rice is great shielding the defense, getting back when the play breaks down and good at playing the 8 position because he’s not been asked to make these grease passes. But if you’re playing a game you’re expected to attack frequently then he’s not your man at the 6 position. It’s that simple.

It's not tantrum, is that inner quest to win, that strength to go all out for the team when they are down. Osihmen has scored crazy goals out of blue by muscling his way through aggression, causing penalties etc. Spalletti exploited these attributes. That is simply the reason I said you should bend down and watch the guy or study him. There is a reason he is called monster machine. His pressing is something else. To me, this would be good business for Arsenal leaving more money in the pot for other area's. Dovbyk is very smart (IQ-plus) and rarely wastes the ball and awareness is off the chart. He's a full on TEAM PLAYER and that's important. Bringing in a STAR forward like Osimhen could create problems down the road. I don't see that with Dovbyk, total class and will fit well. Anyway, that's my opinion and for sure, I could be wrong.... however, that's rare ;)
