You were right about this story feeling random, but the devs gotta buy time somehow. I'm just upset that they didn't release this along WITH Testament. Cuz let's be honest, the story isn't the best in terms of writing or animation. Edit-u can just watch this once on youtube and be like, well that was ok.
I think these stories are nice and service the characters in a nice contained way. Obviously it's going to look funny because of the way they animate the stories, i think in spite of that it's actually quite impressive. Definitely better than any other story content other fighting games give us.
eh, the gameplay portion is relatively few animation frames that got maybe years to polish. ASW isn't putting in Square Enix or Capcom levels of effort into their 3DCG. I still remember cracking up at Jack-O jumping into the side car during the main story.
@@waifu27 probably. but Japan isn't exactly well known for quality 3DCG, very few companies do it well. So its debatable how well it would have come out with more time and budget. Even the dank animations we see in combat are really just dank videogame animations, they wouldn't be dank in a movie. In the sense that they look "fake" for practicality. Like how recovery animations of many normals look like active frames and quickly snap back to neutral. iirc this is done so animation cancels are less jarring to look at.
