    otherwise there's minimal difference between each other but the exterior design, like its little brother 11-16 atx-i

    Another great "real world" video which I think really sets apart your content by the way for people like me who buy this stuff for making a living. Ok so dumb question here, after I just ordered this lens because of your video hahah, but when I put this lens on my BMPCC4K with my EF MB Speedbooster .67 ... what happens? Is the lens usable in that entire 11-20mm range? (I know there will be a 1.22 crop due to BM4K+Speedbooster) Also ... if I put this on my Canon R5, is it fully usable in the 11-20mm range? Thanks so much! I've never used an APS-C lens on full frame-ish so was curious, thanks guys!

    I think that the vignette of the C300III comes and goes because of a setting on the camera. I would look for a "lens correction" setting to turn it off. At least on my 5DIV was like that. Turned off lens correction on video mode and the weird vignette on/off of every lens I use, is gone! Nice video, this Tokina lens is something I look forward to buy

    Damien - I recently purchased a BMPCC6K Pro and decided upon two Meike S35 Cinema Lenses - 12mm and 18mm to go with the camera. I should have discovered your video MUCH EARLIER, as I already had a 11-16mm (circa 2010) and 11-20mm (circa 2022) Tokina lenses which I've been using with an APSC camera. Both of these lenses seem to have an image circle greater than the S35 sensor of the 6K Pro, as I can detect no vignetting on the camera's image when using either of these Tokina lenses. I've checked a number of my Canon lenses for APSC cameras (including a "modified" EFS 10-18mm STM lense and have been pleasantly surprised to find no vignetting. Thanks for calling to my attention - that some lenses marketed as APSC will also work on the BMPCC6K's S35 sensor !

    I'll eventually add this lens for the 11mm focal length on my R7/Viltrox EF-R3 combo. It will become a 12.5mm at F2. Alternatively, it will be a great addition to my BMPCC6K too.

    • @fabthefab75
      @fabthefab75 Před 4 měsíci

      Done. Wider than the Sigma 14mm 1.8 and still no distorsion. Good buy. But it does NOT work with the R7/Viltrox combo. It's an APS-C lens so it won work as you make your lens become Full Frame like. But, it works with the regular adapter with ND, CPL and UV filter becoming a 17,6 mm . I think i'll stick it to my BMPCC6K.

    @Audimann Před 2 lety

    I have the former version but all my wide angle zoom apsc lenses are quite bad on my Nikon D500. So I tried the Nikon 14-24 f2.8 ( I know it is a FF lens) at 14mm versus my apsc lenses and the Nikon trashes all of them. Ok 14mm apsc means 21 FF equivalent so not most wide angle but is apsc suitable for wideangle? I do not think so. For real great wide angle fullframe is just the best.

      My guess is that the 11-16 came out earlier. I got the 11-20 this year but neither seems available anymore. Price could be a difference

    I have a Nikon D3300, and bought the Tokina AT-X 11-20mm f2.8 Pro DX. Now, apparently both my camera and the lens do not have built in autofocus. So I could only focus manually. I am currently in the process of returning the lens, also because the focussing ring does not properly switch between AF and MF, it tilts and does not stay in place. Why they did not choose for a simple little button switch is beyond me..
    I sent an e-mail to Tokina USA, where they informed me the lens could autofocus with my D3300, so I don't know if the lens I got is just horribly malfunctioning or the person responding had no clue what they were talking about. After some digging I discovered the 11-16mm DX also does not autofocus and the 11-16mm DXII does. Which makes me reconsider just buying the 11-16 DXII instead of the 11-20 DX, or waiting until they update this built in autofocus mechanism.
    What I am mostly curious about, and could not find on my own, is if this ATX-i CF version DOES have built in autofocus, or if the i means this one can autofocus with the D3300.

      I owned the 11-20 AND D3300. It does indeed Autofocus on that body. I now moved to Canon and again bought the EF version of this lens and it works great.

    do yuknow it fit for nikon d5300 ???ty

  • @JulesFredericNerestant

    If you only had the 6k you'd be better served with the cine version of this lens. Photo lenses have terribly short focus throws making manually focusing a real chore for any subject further away than a meter.
