Whether it is chatting about their shared love of Fleetwood Mac, favourite retro Arsenal kits or legends of the game, the passion for their sport and mutual respect for each other is clear to see between Lotte Wubben-Moy and Ian Wright.
At 22 years old, Arsenal full-back Wubben-Moy is part of the new generation of players who are poised to take the Women’s Super League by storm.
Wright, on the other hand, following an illustrious professional footballing career, has emerged as a football pundit of the times. He moved the nation to tears with his appearance on Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs podcast and has become a much-cherished figure for both the men and women’s game.
The pair met up to discuss the new WSL season, sexism and activism at community club Hackney Laces, where Wubben-Moy volunteers her time supporting and coaching young girls getting into football.
