      I completely agree. I love learning what other teachers are doing and being inspired by their set up or new ways of teaching that I haven't though of before. Do you use the built-in camera on your macbook for video during your classes or something else for your video?
    How do you monitor the sound of your students - headphones/earbuds, bose speaker, computer speaker, etc? I find it really helps reduce potential feedback and other sound issues if I am using some kind of headphones.

    • @VirtualTeachingPro
      @VirtualTeachingPro  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi Nicola! I feel ya on teaching online since March. Design is so challenging to teach online so hang in there! I teach musical theatre so we do lots of singing and loud talking so an external mic really helps with condensing the sound and creating a more "live" quality of the voice so it feels like they are in the room. I find that an external mic also helps with a clear, crisp sound when you're speaking just bc it's better quality than the built in mic. I think it's a personal choice really. If you're doing a ton of online teaching and meetings, etc then it's a good option bc it really does up the level and quality of the sound. When I switch from my computer mic to the external mic the students are always shocked at how much better it sounds.

      Hi there. It depends on the platform the school/tutor is using. I would reach out to your teacher and ask them if there is anything specific you need. I would assume you need a internet, computer and a quiet place you can work. Try to find a bright place so the teacher can clearly see you and a quiet place so they can hear you. YOu might try using headphones and perhaps get an external mic so they can clearly hear you. Either try a headphone with a mic attached like a gaming headphone set or an external mic you can plug into your computer. Best wishes in your learning!

    This is so nuts, and my eyes are going to pop out of my head.
    I've been studying and becoming more acquainted with trying to build a course by reading ebooks but sadly, I encountered a laptop problem.
    I purchase a brand new HP laptop for $1,000, thinking that the computer would be able to handle some software like Camtasia and then all of a sudden Camtasia crashed when I opted a video or 2 resulting in a blue screen of death in other words it froze and a blue screen appeared.
    I called the HP service and send in my laptop about two days ago, so I'm in a bit of a pickle because I don't know what to do now.
    Will I be better off using Camtasia or another platform? I'm not satisfied since I paid for Camtasia already and scared to use it again.
    Is this something you've experienced?

      Hi there. So sorry that happened to you. I am not familiar with Camtasia personally but it looks like a great software promo for creating and editing video content. I use a MacBrook Pro for all my work so I'm not familiar with HP laptops and their capabilities.
      If everything was working until you downloaded the program then it might be that your hardware wasn't equipped to fully run the program.

      I list the camera I mention in the video details along with a link if that's helpful.
