I'm a JDM guy through and through. I have 3 jdm imports and in the process of buying a 4th.
Having said all of this, the fact someone chose a collection like this over something like a CGT or Zonda (with cash spare for other jdm legends or supercars) is quite frankly insane.
Always considered these mona lisa cars to be part of huge insane collections but for your entire collection to be r34's is nutty.

Really says a lot about how much modern cars suck. People wouldn't hang to these cars so hard if there were actually good new cars being made. All we have are overdesigned, bloated, heavy POSes.
I almost bought a NSX for 20k instead I bought a 350z nismo, my nismo flooded, i bet the NSX wouldn’t had that problem having the engine in the back.

They still are for a plan jane 120,000+ mile r34 for a really clean sub 80,000 gtt(basically gtr).
The “N1” is a one of 38. Making the price somewhat reasonable.
Let’s not forget we live in a world where a new $100,000 sports car sold for $3,800,000 at auction. Search “first c7 z06 sold at auction”
They were never that low, maybe for a GT-S , in the early 2000s on Motorex R34s GT-Rs were around 65-100k, R33s and R32s were in the 30-60k range.
Don’t get me wrong these cars are dope and potential power houses with enough work but 400k? Really? I’m just not with the hype anymore it’s insane
400R's are up to a Million+ now.
Every car here was under 30k before they were legalised in the US. Destroyed Skylines for me.
When we'd pay 6-8k for a mint r32 gtr, 20-25k for a mint 60k km R34 GTR they were great but still a bit pricey. As soon as they went above 40.. done.
The older nismos were made in limited quantities. They're made specifically with tuning in mind.

Just over a decade ago even the rarer models weren’t going for over $120K-$150K. I love the GTR, but the hype for me has worn off. It’s become a status symbol now. It’s not even about the car anymore.

That's not entirely true, it depends largely whether they've been modded or not and if they have been, how heavily. If they're within 50-100 horsepower of stock rating, they'll likely be just fine as long as you maintain them. The RB26 can't handle any kind of heavy modifications unless you're willing to drop some serious money into the project because you're gonna need i!

I absolutely hate the fact that Americans could import these old Japanese cars, because it has created this stupidly inflated price for the cars, so much so, that now you cannot even buy the good, well kept ones in Japan for a more realistic and fair price, meaning that a bunch of enthusiasts have now become unable to buy their dream cars, because dumb Americans are going "Hurr durr car valuable"
I’ve seen that red gtr in person recently at a New Jersey car show, Talked to the owner and inside on the dash is a signature signed by Paul walkers brother I was told, the owner of the car said the red gtr in this video was Paul walkers car, Paul use to race it and one day sold it, the car was repainted and original the front hood was carbon, I guess the recent buyer kept a tiny spot on the hood carbon and you can see it in person! What a amazing car and such a story to it!!

I love these and to own at least one of them is my all time car goal no matter about other cars. In Redmond WA an importer has many Skyline R32 R34 for sale at similar prices. All have already been DOT inspected, titled, licensed, all with brand new tires, brake work, 5 point harnesses installed, US Safety glass for your safety. He has 6 various specs that are over 60,000km needing cosmetic restoration but run excellent under $100,000
But why be like everyone who wants a Skyline when instead you can have a Ford RS2000, Escort RS Turbo, Volvo S70 R limited, V40 R, V90R, Audi Sport Quattro S1 E2, Alfa Romero, GTS 2000, Farrari 288 GTO, Lada VFTS, Lancia Delta S4, Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, Starion AWD Turbo RS, Opel Manta R4, Porsche 911 Turbo AWD RS, Scoda 130 LR, Talbot Sunbeam Lotus all under $80,000 with many at $20,000. All with new new tires, brakes, licensed, and with actual team records from Group A and B racing
