wow i am so jealous..i live in the uk and as we have a similar type store £shop ...but they are small and have less stock than that super dollar tree store you went around.you can find some items to use for hamsters.

How is your hamster settling in? The one you collected from petsmart. I love the care that you provide for your hamster. I would love a bin cage. Do you think that it’s just as suitable as for example an IKEA detolf? I think I prefer a bin cage and I am aiming to get it as big as possible
I found a huge dust pan around the section you found the broom. The one that comes in that set is a little bit flimsy

I wouldn't recommend slippers or stuff like that for hamsters, their limbs can easily get stuck and create some serious injuries:(

They have craft stuff like wodden things and what not i just got my hamsters today and i brought them a small wodden bed and a rhino to chew on
On 10:11 minutes I also think you could make the butterfly box a hideout. Don't use the lid turn box upside down and cut a door hole for hamster access! Just thought I should mention that!😊

My long haired beloved hamster just passed away. I'm hoping that for Christmas I may get a roborovski hamster. I miss my baby he meant so much to me and I miss him so much he was so sweet he would make the times that were bad into a time that was great. He was my soulmate. And I miss him very much.

Hello just wanted to say apples are not that good for your hamster. That's cause there sweet, apples as a treat is ok but if you feed it too much it can cause diabetes.

What kind of sand should I use for a hamster?
There are a few options on what kind of sand you can use. One is children's play sand. Make sure it's heat treated and if it's not then bake it in the oven. Also make sure to sift it out to get any bigger particles. You can also use reptile sand with no added calcium, minerals, or dye. You can also use chinchilla bath sand although it's not the best because it can be dusty and is pretty expensive. Please stay away from anything that says dust. If you would like to watch a video I recommend watching Victoria Reachels video all about sand baths. Hope I could help :)

I would not recommend using the sand from the dollar store.
You never want to put a heavyweight bowl or highout in your hanster cage always plasic if it falls over it could hurt them just a heads up

I would HIGHLY recommend having a sand bath in your hamsters cage. They are great enrichment and hamsters love using them. If you can afford sand and a tub I would certainly get one.

I rescued a hamster last Sunday and I will be getting him his new cage and wheel and sand tomorrow I only have 100 to get him stuff
If you are on a budget, I would suggest getting him a 110 quart bin cage or larger. They are pretty inexpensive and a good size for your hamster. Any care questions I would be happy to answer! Good luck with your new little friend!

Hi Nicky. Its me again. I was at dollarama and I found some art sand. I think its not safe for a hamster sand bath but I want to ask you. Can you use art sand for a hamster sand bath?
Personally I would not use art sand for hamster sand baths, as I'm not too sure what they make it out of and it could irritate your hamsters skin or be harmful if ingested. Just to be safe I would stick to child play sand. ;)

Salt is perfectly fine for hamsters, and hamsters do actually need salt, but make sure your not over feeding them things with added salt.

Please dont put on gloves while taming your hamster! They have to get used to your hand, not the glove.
I did it too because I was scared that my hamster would bite me but she ended up biting even more when i wore the glove.
When I took it off, she didn't bite.
Maybe for you put when you first starg it may be better to use gloves to check if they are timid or if they are a bitter im noy hating on you :)
It really depends on your hamster but my hamster doesn't do that and while my hamster is getting tamed this helped but your right you can rub your scent on a tissue and put it in his cage so he gets used if you have nippyy hamster
help my hamster has about a 510 square inch (i think inches) bin cage. He keeps trying to escape and keeps scratching at the bin cage walls or whatever you call them. He has a wooden bridge, great food, water, lots of chews, sand pit, hides, tunnels, etc. I just don’t understand why he does this and it’s worrying me. I don’t want my hamster to be stressed :( I just got him about 3 days ago and I have not been messing with him either. please help!
ok well im a lil young but whatever i have a hamster and i gave hera bing cage and through out the first week or so she was trying to get out after that she calmed down a bit so i wouldnt worry that mucxh

How deep is your bedding? They are burrowing animals and basically live underground in the wild so if the bedding isn't deep enough than they won't attempt to burrow. You should make the bedding as deep as possible. Depending on the type of hamster will determine how deep the minimum is but a good rule of thumb is the deeper the better. I watched a video that showed a study where Syrian hamsters were placed into different enclosures with either 30 inches deep of bedding, 16 inches or 6 inches (I think I have that right) and out of all the hamsters in the 30 inch deep bedding enclosures showed no bar chewing and significantly less bar chewing for those with 16 inches of bedding. Something to consider. Also I'm sure you learned this stuff by now but thought I'd mention it in case anyone else was reading through the comments like I was and wasn't aware of how crucial deep bedding is to the overall care and health of your hamster. Hope all is well with you and your hamster!

This isn’t hate but, you shouldn’t be making these types of videos if you don’t have the proper knowledge of hamsters. The slipper you showed and said that it was good for a “cuddle thingy”. *absolutely not* this is so unsafe for hamsters if they try to chew them and can be toxic. And I do not recommend buying that. Wrapping paper is a big *no*, because your hamster will try chewing it if it’s inside the cage and will die from the toxic coloring and toxic materials in the wrapping paper. If you are using it around your hamsters cage, that wouldn’t be necessary because you are covering and creating a dark area around the hamsters enclosure which is not recommended. *no* 😐

Agree but for the wrapping paper i think she meant backing behind the cage, just a background on one side. But yea the slipper is a big no no hamsters chew everything and they couod easily die from eating the slippers
