I lost my right leg above the knee in 1977 and used to ride bikes with toe clips, just a half one without straps on the right side, then i used bear trap pedals. about 30 years ago a friend made me a right pedal with magnet and a plate for my shoe. That worked pretty well. Then i spotted amputees in the US using the same thing, but they were costing a couple of hundred $. Since dropper posts came in i just use normal shoes and flat pedals with long pins. Now i only ride E-Bikes and life has become mufh easier. Rides are longer, more fun and i am not limited to shorter climbs, or to getting off and pushing.

I've tried going back and I just can't...it's not so much the downhills and bunny hoppin' that gets me...it's the uphills.
As I'm expecting the clip to keep me foot on the pedal, it just keeps flying off as I try to pull the pedal upwards.

I've got a sweet gash in my left shin thanks to the Odyssey black widow pedals.... ouch it hurt but they were an awesome pedal.
