You did most of it exactly right, except right at the start when it took you down from the lobby, you needed to return up to the lobby, get out, & start over. So from that point on, the ritual was broken. Also, the girl doesn’t always get on when you hit 5th floor - doesn’t mean you did anything wrong, she’s just busy tormenting others at the moment (for which you should feel thankful & keep going).

There was this girl, Elisa Lam. This was her first trip ever, She went to the Cecil Hotel for her first ever trip, and she was acting really weird in the elevator like she was hiding from someone..
She finally ran out of the elevator and they couldn’t find her. And the people in the hotel rooms were complaining that the water tasted very off, they said sometimes it would be green or even red. So the people that worked at the hotel went to check the water tank on the roof, they found Elisa Lams dead body rotting inside the water tank. That’s why the water tasted odd. That’s the story of Elisa Lam the girl that always walks in the elevator if you put in the right numbers...
There's actually still some investigation because there was no way she could get into the tank by herself since it was incredibly heavy.

I’m pretty sure it wasn’t her first trip. She was from Canada, not straight off the boat from China. I can’t remember what she was doing in the Cecil hotel tho. But something else creepy about it, the Cecil hotel had a bad outbreak of TB like 50-60 years ago. The test for TB is called the Lam Elisa test...so weird!
Just watched the Netflix documentary about Elisa Lam. She was going to the west coast as a way to feel more free from her depression. She stayed at the Cecil because it was cheap. It was ruled as an accidental drowning due to a manic episode, which stemmed from her not taking her medication. I believe foul play was involved. Elisa Lam has no connection to the Korean Elevator Game and in fact, existed before her death.
Also I just noticed that the elevator is a vortex.

So rewatching this after years and Sam just scared the crap out of me. When he exits the elevator on the 10th floor (10:15) I expected him to turn around with the camera to film the inside of the elevator. In my town, there is an abandoned/haunted hotel in our park. It is easy to get into and isn't surveillance. Several of my friends have gone there before with Oujia Boards and said they experienced paranormal things.
(Edit: idk why so many people are seeing this all of a sudden 😳 but I just want let you all know that the hotel is getting demolished
Could you give us a quick story
Of course! So the hotel used to be a getaway for celebrities because our town is in the middle of nowhere and there aren't that many people. However, for some reason, the building was abandoned. I don't know if this was before or after the building closed, but there was a girl that went up to the roof and jumped off and died. There are rumors that a few other people did the same but I am don't know for sure. A while ago they started tearing the building down but stopped for unknown reasons. And a few months ago they started trying to remold it again into a new hotel but didn't make any progress and haven't done anything since.

A girl in Korea did this game at the age of 10 and it worked. However, she said it was the 4th floor that the little girl appeared and got on at. She said the girl jump into the elevator smiling but she had no physical presence so when she landed it made no sound. She also said the building where it worked was really old as well. She said as she was trying to undo the ritual and get off the elevator, the little girl got off on one of the floors and as the doors were closing she tried to run back in, but she was not smiling and her form started shifting.
In Korea and Japan most buildings do not have a 4th floor, because in Korean and Japanese the number "4" means "shi" which also means "death". They had to create a new word for "4" because of this.
So if the building does not have a number "4" floor, then the 4th floor would actually be the 5th floor, which may be why most people cant get it to work because of they are not going to the correct floor which would be the actual 4th floor in USA.
Some people say that some buildings wont work and will have to try others, but the Korean girl said she was haunted by the little girl on and off for like 2 and half years, even trying to trap her in an elevator in another instance while is was slowing falling. It also not just her, its also other people that said they got it to work and they have huge anxiety issues after seeing the girl and now have to see a shrink.

My theory is that when Sam was in the 'alternate dimension', the reason he kept hearing those noises was because in the 'real world' someone was there, but he couldn't see them. So when the elevator door opened after he exited the elevator on the 10th floor, that was either someone in the real world coming into the 10th floor or leaving it, but Sam couldn't see them because he was in a alternate dimension. This also makes sense why people usually can't see ghosts, it's that they are in the alternate dimension, so in turn, the people in the real world couldn't see Sam because he was in a place where it wasn't possible to see him. This also explains the door he heard opening a bit, since that door was in the real world, he couldn't see it opening and couldn't see the person walking through it.
"But wait, if he couldn't see the door opening then why was he able to see the elevator open?"
Good question, my theory is that because the elevators are the only link between the 'alternate dimension' and the 'real world', so that would mean that would be the only thing that Sam would be able to see with both worlds properties.

Dear Sam, you should play "red book" :). I've played it multiple times with my friends in places like the cemetery or the woods and it's pretty cool. It's safer than ouija but it's the same concept. You just use a book to communicate with spirits. It's worked for my friends and I. Some things can happen if you play it wrong, but for the most part it's pretty safe and fun. We've heard pounding footsteps and seen spirit orbs in front of our eyes, along with random cuts appearing when breaking rules.
