    Great video! I hope this inspires more people to get out there & give it a shot. Covers the things Tesla owners should really know when camping. We've been camping in our M3 every month since March of this year. As mentioned, it is a little tight for 2 adults & a pup but we make it work , it's actually pretty cozy. Our 10lb dog Jarvis absolutely loves it. Only complaint is the locking situation when there's no reception but it's not a problem. Battery does hold up well after a few nights of camping.

      That is so wonderful hear you guys go out car camping. It’s such a joy to do 😊.
      The locking situation is definitely a bit of a pain with out service. There are a few place I go that are signal less and have to do the reach up maneuver.

    Great guide! I can only add my experience from 2019. I took a trip in my MS from CO to CA (factory tour) to WA and back. My Hwy101 route took me thru Forks WA. I had planned to charge at the Sequim WA SuC but got too tired, so I found an overflow site (no electric!)at the Elwah River CG (great people!). My calculations had me with ~55 miles range with 22 miles to the SuC - no problem. Sadly, when I reached forward to turn on camp mode, I inadvertantly turned on a ***seat heater***! At sunrise, I was shocked to discover I was down to ***8 miles***!!! I couldn't find an open RV power box! Sooo... I used PlugShare to locate a Clipper Creek charger in Port Angeles only 7.5 miles away! I made it but was coasting the whole way. Lesson learned!

    Im going car camping for the first time this summer with my girlfriend in our newly bought Tesla S, 2015 mod. Going from south of norway to the north. Not all the way up, but almost. The nature there is incredible. We are going to buy a premade foam mattress specially designed for the model S (Yes it can be rolled back together and applied some some straps to keep it "small" when not in use. We are probably going to be travelling for about 7-10 days and we are really looking forward to this. Thx for a great and informative video

    Should also mention that most campgrounds have RV or small camper hook ups. Even if you can only get a 15 amp connection at least it would reduce the overnight drain, if not completely fill the battery when using 30 amp or higher. $25 - $45 a night, get a full charge, shower and bathroom access. Who needs hotels? Lol

I presumed this was normal until I started reading that it s/b in the 10-15% range. I have the temp set @ 70°-72°F and the fan is low. I run Camp Mode for 8-9 hours. The only thing that I haven’t done is change my climate setting from Auto to Manual and adjust the fan speed. Is there anything else that I can do to reduce my battery drain?

      Great questions. The case solves the leveling problem. And for side sleeping, if I'm laying hard on my side after an hour or two I have to rotate my sleeping position. At 220lbs there is a limit to how much concentrated weight it can support if Im flat on my side.

    Great video. I'm curious, during your wrap-up, 6:44 I thought I could see a 110 Volt outlet behind you. Is it possible to plug in (with appropriate cable) and charge while in Camp Mode? This could be real handy when you have power available in a commercial campsite or other place where you intend to over-night.
    2nd Question: Regarding locking - Do the doors lock when you are driving? I ALWAYS keep my vehicle doors locked at all times. You can never be too safe in today's world. Don't want to get car-jacked or dragged out of the car.

    • @MyTeslaAdventure
      @MyTeslaAdventure  Před 3 lety
