BTOB is actually one of the most popular groups in South Korea, especially back in 2017-2018, they are just super underrated overseas. They started off as dance group but slowly found their style with ballads. If you guys are interested, please check out their MVs and live stages. And they also write almost all of their songs!

BTOB is terribly underrated. It took a few years to win their first music show. I think it was a good decision for them to shift to more ballads as opposed to their initial genre of more dance songs. They’re just as phenomenal, but their vocals are just a level above the rest.

For this show they choose the most loved songs and the ones with the ideal possibilities to do crazy harmonies. Their songs have real kpop choreo not so “hard hitting” than some groups now but they have dance practice (funny they often sing live during this DP)
Hello. So very happy that you're liking BTOB. If the other melodies haven't chimed in yet on Peniel's "sin" (🤣) .... allow me to add a bit of context. The song's title is Second Confession and it was released in 2013 or about a year after their debut. At that time, they had 7 members, including another wonderful and talented rapper named Jung Ilhoon. Sadly, Ilhoon had to leave the group due to a controversy. Ilhoon's departure was his way of protecting the group so to speak. The verse of Second Confession that Peniel rapped in the Killing Voice was, in fact, Ilhoon's part of the song. While it doesn't really excuse his "lapse"...it is quite understandable given the circumstances. In any case, am sure you'll grow to love all members. Good luck picking a bias!
So glad you’ve finally gotten round to watching BTOB. Based off of your reactions to other groups like mamamoo and exo I feel like you’ll really like them as they are absolutely off the rails and hilarious while also having amazing vocals.

i thouroughly believe every melody should watch the btob quiet and reserved idol series at least once. really introduces you to their crazy personalities. either way, i'm looking forward to watching you discover them more and more, its def worth it

funny story: when you talked about them not having heavy choreo on their songs, they were just about to sing Wind and Wish, which is actually btob’s version of a dance song ahaha it’s still not as choreo heavy as the usual kpop song, but these guys can still dance~! also! i’ll be your man is actually almost a dance song too! check out their dance practices, they’re pretty hilarious 😂

The second man's name from the left is Yook Sung-jae, the youngest of BTOB, and he is also famous as an actor. He appeared in a goblin among the well-known dramas.
Fun fact, today 22nd of november, is actually Eunkwang's birthday! And yes, he's such a sunshine! One of my favorite person on earth, can't even explain it, he just is.
Some facts:
-Changsub is the guy you didn't remember the name of.
-The second guy from left, Yook Sungjae, is the maknae and he's a kdrama actor. His recent was The Golden Spoon, played the main character. If you are a kdrama fan, you might have heard of Goblin, he played the nephew.
-Hyunsik is the forth guy from left, he produced most of these songs. Minhyuk also produced some of them.
-There is a member that left the group in 2021, he will always be very loved by Melodies!
-BTOB has a big variety of genres in their discography but their biggest hits are ballads. The one they started Killing Voice with, Missing You, is a superhit, composed by Hyunsik.
-The members of BTOB in Kingdom is called BTOB 4U, they formed a sub-unit while waiting for maknae line to finish military service. They released mini album called Inside and later came out with 4U:Outside but under BTOB (long story as to why they released it under BTOB instead of BTOB 4U like Inside).
-You probably already know, but BTOB are super goofy and unhinged! There's never a dull moment with them. In BTOB, the animal food pyramid is upside-down. The oldest in Korean culture should be on top, the most respected ones, in BTOB they are the grass (Eunkwang, yes even the leader, Minhyuk and Changsub), Peniel is a bird, Hyunsik is on top - the eagle (you are right about his persona, no one comes past him but he's rather respectful)... and then there's Sungjae, the sun! LMAO
This means there's a lot of teasing each other but also very wholesome moments, all out of pure love. They have a strong brotherly bond.
Anyway, highly recommend their MVs but mostly Live stages of their songs! They usually act a lot in their MVs, they're all great actors! If you like to get to know them more, they have a show called Born To BTOB ep1-12 and BTOB 3 Meals/Healing Life 1-6 episodes. Yeah Btob is big in Korea. Their concert is so big 🔥 and the one you like is Yook Sungjae the maknae. He is also top actor. The recent drama from him, is Golden Spoin. 💙

I had a lot of fun watching you react to BTOB so, if you decide to get to know them better, I'm here for it! I became a Melody during Kingdom and I agree completely that Hyunsik and Sungjae (and Ilhoon) are part of an incredible organism that is called BTOB. I think it is extremely difficult to find so much talent wrapped up in such a brotherhood of inspiring and crazy personalities as exists in this group. I think you would enjoy reacting to the "Wow" (2012) and "Wind and Wish" (2023) MVs, and the Ilhoon Squad guide. I think they many times sing better live in their own concerts than even in the studio because they let loose and all that raw talent just flows out and meshes together. Thanks, again.

Lovely reaction!🎉 Some other fans have already given info about the group but I want to recommend you watch their live K-099 performance of Wind and Wish (their 2023 single) and the dance practice! They actually do all the high notes while having choreo.
Another good example is Movie, they dont have a lor of hard hitting choreo but it's pretty energetic and they do sing all if their songs while doing it.
And they were a lot more conventional male kpop back in their debut days haha minhyuk can still do acrobatics and eunkwang and sungjae can do a backflip or two.
For the back then songs, WoW and Thrilller!
Also they have a wider range than they portrayed here, lots more energetic songs and even ridiculous ones (Blowin Up is legendary), sexy songs (Whiskey, Guitar) more rock type (Higher). They do write and produce a lot of their own material since like 2015-ish and its amazing to see their growth.

hai, thank you for the reaction,. BTOB indeed the vocal king. Their song is known for the high note among boy group songs. They also dance while singing the wind and wish. Check out their live vocal for I'll be your man, wind and wish. you will be blown while they dance but sing with stable notes.
Hyunsik writes a lot of their songs and he has a very famous father who is also a singer. He has a very beautiful voice and range. There’s also a beautiful video of Eunkwang singing with his mom who is not a trained singer and it’s lovely to watch.

I strongly believe that the only people that are not Melody are people that have just not heard BtoB yet. They are very serious about their music and completely unserious the rest of the time. Most have mentioned the acting, and the musical actors and producers, but know that Minhyuk also has a radio show and Peniel is part of Dive studios podcasts. Also the part where Peniel forgot the lyrics wasn't his part originally, but still makes me smile when I watch it. I wish there were some subtitles as they are pretty funny with the jokes.

Melodies would happily adopt Seungmin 😂 BTOB has basically already adopted all of Stray Kids anyway. Minhyuk has mentioned that they come over to his house all the time since Kingdom and Peniel has been friends with Bangchan since they were trainees.
melody are never the problem lol, we literally adopt everyone even if they share the same room with btob haha, its just some 4th gen fans take things too far and say their favs sound better in a btob cover song, that pisses me off...thats all

I've been a fan of skz since their debut which not many can say, but fans who don't get into many older groups usually tend to walk into a lot of pitfalls because naturally they're missing out on quite a bit of content many others are already aware of and have known about for years lol. Also, it's just realistic that out of the three primary skills, rap, dance, and vocals, that skz showcases rap the most (which makes sense because han and changbin are very talented) then dance, and then vocals. Plenty of their music has very nice vocals, but not a ton of it showcases the range of the vocalists they do have. It's not that I think it's right to say their vocalists are not good, in fact both of them have come very far since their debut and I think they deserve to show it off more. But truthfully even though sound is objective, technique and experience are not. Skz members have really nice voices but, theres that and then there's a vocal performance that leaves you absolutely in awe, and btob consistently can offer that more than skz currently where they're at.
Melodies will adopt Seungmin, but Sungjae will stage a riot, I think 😂 He is very protective of his maknae seat.
BtoB is so fun. You like chaos? I highly recommend some of their shows. or when they guested on Monsta X's show (MonstaXRay) theyre hilarious. lol they look so grown up here but Ill always just remmeber them being dorky. Sunjae trying to open a watermelon with his head back on the BtoB diary days lol
Watch a BTOB Guide they are to me one of the funniest groups in KPOP and they dont care how weird they are!
Finale is the song that they sing a lot at the end of their concerts! Also, if you want a good guide, I personally think the best is by Ilhoon Squad. Also, multiple members do a lot of theater which I think says a lot about their vocals!

I casually listened to BTOB before kingdom, during kingdom I fell for them. My favorite was Minhyuk I liked his rap but loved his singing voice. Then I started getting more into the group and I have to say I can't pick a bias the only other group I can't pick a bias in is Ateez. They really are a talented group. I hope to see more reactions on this group...

Glad that you have loved them in Kingdom..the 4 members who joined that competition were EUNKWANG, MINHYUK, CHANGSUB & PENIEL who formed a sub unit called BTOB 4U while the others were enlisted that time. The other 2 members are SUNGJAE: the 2nd guy , lead vocalist, the maknae & also an award winning actor/model/endorser and HYUNSIK: the 4th guy, lead vocalist, songwriter, composer & producer, known as the father of BTOB music coz most of their songs were written by him. 11 years in their career..they are still very much active up to this very day. Although they're not that known internationally..they are BIG in SK and other Asian countries. They may not have the intense raps and bone breaking dance steps of younger and newer groups..but they really slay when it comes to vocals & live performances coz that's where they are good at. But please don't think that just because they are older & sing slower songs, they don't do much dancing. They do dance so well and they still make choreo in their songs..though not as much as they used to when they were younger. In fact, BTOB is known for putting choreo in their ballads and they're really good. To show these to you..could you please check out their IT'S OKAY dance version, WIND AND WISH dance practice, OUTSIDER special choreo practice, SHOW YOUR LOVE dance practice. That part where you didn’t know what Peniel said ,” but it was adorable.” Peniel asked what the name of the song was, and the rest of the group said, “The Song” and Peniel said, “ah”. So it was a joke, kind of a who’s on first type of thing. But still funny.
Side note: The song was the first title track they released since all the members reunited after their military service.
They do have a llots of movements with their songs... they flowy and interpretative dance while singing ballads and amazingly, have complex and fast choreo with upbeat songs like Wind and Wish
oh! they do dance since they are a kpop group, they kind have of full that requirement. Check Wind and Wish live or the music video have a viking choreo.

I won't repeat info on the group itself from other comments but provide some recommendations. If you want to check them more, it is a good way to start a journey with a debut song “Insane”. You can continue by choosing the genre:
- goofy vibe like “WOW”,
- intense "Thriller" or "I'll be Your Man",
- heartbreaking like “Beautiful Pain”, "Someday"
- or their recent release “Wind and Wish” - all depends on your mood.
Or you can also watch some of their variety shows, behind the scenes or interviews - they are hilarious.

Also, you've asked if they are still an active group: sadly, their contracts with the agency have expired a month ago and as of now they have not joined another agency (or created theirs) to continue as a unit. Yesterday there was an article that only Changsub (not the whole group) has joined an agency for his activities, so, if scattered between different agencies, the chances for them to continue performing as a unit are fading. Nevertheless, I will support their solo activities and still hope for the group reunion.

I would suggest you react to their guide either by ilhoon squad (shorter, 26-minutes video) or DAEMELRO BTOB English Sub (longer because it have 2 parts, a 9-minutes and a 36-minutes video). Personally, I would love it if you choose to react to the guide by DAEMELRO BTOB because it really shows their skills and personality in more detail due to it being longer.

I think this group has got to be one of the funniest groups in Kpop. They rarely take anything seriously, which is kind of ironic since they are known for their calming and beautiful ballads 😂

I know there's a lot to take in, and it's fine, but it is very funny that you went "Peniel sounds like he just said booty call" and rewound it to listen and still failed to see the lyrics on the screen that said "Girl I swear this ain't no booty call"
unironically that verse of Peniel's is one of my favorites, it really suits him
They are very2 underrated. No matter how many vocal group/idol groups came up, BtoB will still be one of the best.
The best part is they are very humble. And they love just being themselves. They dont really got “controlled” by the picture of perfect idols that KNetizens always want to dictate. Hence they are super funny without really “care” about their image.
PLEASE watch their old MVs...you'll see that they can also do some pretty darn good choreo!! theyve definitely gone the vocal route in recent years but, wow, their early, super kpoppy stuff is not to be missed!! ❤

Before I watch it... I will only say this... Yes yes yes ;) Finally we got BTOB. For me together with EXO the strongest group vocally. Even though the style of music is different from both groups but vocally they are heaven.

Ilhoon was the member that had to leave he was the main rapper, the part where peniel messes up the lyrics is actually ilhoons part. While btob isn't known for their dancing they started out with more pop and dance songs where they had solid choreos for example Wow, Thriller, Beep beep or even their debut Insane. They were underrated the first few years from 2012 up to 2015 in 2015 they released their ballad trilogy one of the songs is its okay which they performed on kv. The ballad trilogy was what gained them mainstream success in Korea which is why they're now known more for their ballads but their discography is huge and really diverse. While not being super successful internationally they are a household name in Korea. Missing you which is the first song they performed is one of the longest charting songs by a boy group. They're in the top 20 most streamed artists on the streaming platform melon (koreans mostly use this platform to stream music) and even in the top 10 most streamed kpop groups on melon. While their album sales aren't keeping up with groups that have a lot of international fans they're still breaking their personal sales record even 11 years after debut. Their 10y anniversary concert in 2022 at kspo dome was sold out for all 3 days and kspo has a capacity of 15k. This month it was announced that btob didn't renew their contracts with Cube (They were the only cube group that renewed their contracts). It's unclear if they can keep the trademark but they assured us that they are continuing as a group

BTOB's vocals are top class, I used to be obsessed with their song "Wow" back in I think it was while I was in either Middle school or High school and I later found Sungjae again when I was watching the Korean drama called "Goblin"(It's a very good kdrama 10/10 would recommend), I loved his character in it. One of the grand concert and always sold out concert in Korea is BTOB… their lives performance are most appreciated and well known among idols and kpop industry. Aside from that their BROTHERHOOD, MUSIC QUALITY AND DIVERSITY and HUMBLE HILARIOUS ATTITUDE are what most fans and non fans love the most. Even their song ranks high in music chart after and many more years every seasons… and when they appeared on television or shows they really one of the talk people in korea . I cant even have one bias because it changes everytime and even im not active but still they are the only kpop group since 2012 I listen the most.. salute to this dedicated talented professional singer and performer that break mostly the norm of kpop throughout the years. Hope many people around the world will appreciate them and hopefully became a MELODY .

BTOB = Chaos Line up left to right MinHyuk, SungJae, Eunkwang, Hyunsik, Changsub and Peniel (Seventh member Ilhoon who left the group was the main rapper is where Peniel had his hiccup with the line was originally Ilhoon's). Apparently the sound technician for Dingo had to set up the microphones to side record as their vocals were to powerful to direct record. Hyunsik composes most of their songs with members contributing to the lyrics.
You should check out Wind and Wish if you haven't, its amazing! I was watching a music bank for FML/Super and got to listen to it and immediately fell for the song! I also love Heaven which is a side track of that album!~
Okay, the hosts don't recognize these 3, right. Good then I wanna inform you this. 2nd from the RIGHT is Changsub (lead singer), then 2 and 4 from the LEFT are my favorite vocalists. @nd is Sungjae (actor and singer) and Hyunsik (composer, lead singer, etc.) You will love them after watching this song.
Oh, I got what you mean you don't know the guys 2nd and 4th coz they were not present during the KINGDOM DAYS. They were serving their compulsory military service back then. 😇

Hyunsik is the writer and producer of most title tracks and many songs on recent albums, along with minhyuk. They are a self-produce group, they dont lack talent
Chang sub has done many musicals, and only this year(2023) he was casted in 2 plays.
Sunjae is also an actor very well known in the industry and Peniel is very good behind the cameras, he even shoot a video and jacket for other members.
This whole group are so talented in various areas.
