Hi everybody, so I noticed this has not been uploaded and subtitled on CZcams so I decided to do it today.
I don't think there are any interviews from Hatari left to translate but I might upload in near future the Icelandic news segments from last Sunday about the Eurovision finals and our impending ban in Eurovision 2020 (will be decided next week)
It was bit difficult to translate this, especially Klemens part but I hope you can all understand what they are saying :)
Thank you for doing it.
I love Israel with my whole heart but I respect these young men for doing what they did. If you stand on the side of Palestinians ( there are good reasons to support them ), do a peaceful protest like Hatari did. More respectable than a boycott!
Thank you!! Can you translate the rest of the interview?
@@Yushi3100 The rest is in part 2
Thanks a lot! Greetings and support from Belarus ❤️
thank you for translating this!
Watching this as an Norwegian is so weird because I’m just hearing a lot of gibberish and then I’ll suddenly hear a full sentence clear as day
Same for me, but norwegian sounds like that to me too
I’m from sweden and I can relate. I think Icelandic sounds like a mix between all the Nordic languages. I can hear some Swedish, I can hear some Norwegian, I can hear some Finnish, and some danish!!
@@alvidoranwashere Since Icelandic is very simular to old norse (the language the vikings spoke) that is very understandable
@@ylfawh3336 exactly! And now I’ve learned that it might sound like Finnish but it has no connection to Finnish, since Finnish comes from the Russian part of the “language-families”
@@alvidoranwashere You really think that? Im Icelandic and I personally think our accent fx is much more like Germans if anything. And yeah Icelandic is a Germanic language and Finnish is Uralic
Wow, Einar looks so different without the face mask thing on. Not to mention he is speaking as well!!
Of course he looks different without a mask on which covers nearly his whole face 😂
And he's gorgeous 0_0

@@cheekibreekibree1025 Well, not in my case, but other than that I agree
@@cheekibreekibree1025 Unless you’re American
I know this comment is old, but as a Finnish person I'd like to say that it is SO MUCH EASIER to relax and just talk without thinking everything over too much when the interview's in your native tongue. Many native English-speakers have never experienced the dread: "OMG, I know my English should be good but is it _good enough_ or am I making no sense to these interviewers?!"
I speak English all the time, on an academical level. I haven't run into a situation of "I don't know how to say this in English" in years, but still it isn't _native_ to me. It doesn't come from my very core. I still have to stop and think sometimes, I still worry about my accent etc. The best comparison I can give for someone who isn't fluent in multiple languages is to try and speak with a completely different accent, e.g. a Texan trying to sound like you're from Birmingham. You'll screw up and get flustered, and it takes a part of your focus and you cannot relax. Of course Hatari were also playing a part, but trust me, even without that… it's hard to do in your second (or third or fourth in some cases) language. Bonus points if your native language has grammatically and/or vocabularly nothing in common with English.
I love how they are boyband handsome but are everything else but a boyband 😆

Courage would be to go in Iran and show an Israeli flag... it is easy in a democracy , don’t you ?
@@marcellobiondi8607 Israel hosted ESC, not Iran. Israel is supposed to be free and democratic country. But it is treating Palestinian in the occupied territories poorly. That's not what democratic countries should behave like. Free and democratic world should tell Israel that apartheid regime can not be part of free and democratic world. It can only be part of a club where countries like Iran are. That logic, if Iran does something or if Arabs in 1967 did something in 1967, then no one is allowed to tell loudly and publicly that it is not OK what Israel is doing in the occupied land, that is not the logic of free and democratic world. That was the logic of the nazi Germany. Sad enough. We can go back in history 50, 100 year or 2000 years to justify this and that. But in the end, hate will prevail. If hate prevails, I don't see how it can end well for Israel, in the first place. Look on the map. Luckily, there are also many Israelis who understand those things. Let's hope their voices will be heard.

Stop murdering children and even babies!
It's dumb they got in trouble for it at all. The San Marino contestant waved the Turkish flag all the time, why is that flag less controversial?
Maybe because serhat was born in turkey
1. Eurovision itself banned Palestinian flag from the contest! Israel didn't make this rule!
2. waving Palestinian flag in Israel is very disrespectful to the host country, yes.
3. they did not get in any trouble, what are you even talking about?
@@mayale3394 Yes they did. They left the green room immediately afterwards, fearing for their safety, and Jon Ola Sand told the head of the delegation that there would be 'repercussions' that we're waiting to hear.
@@AtlasBlizzard They are bunch of liars then, why would they be afraid? come on people!!!!! before you show your stupidity have some knowledge about Israel. 25% of Israel's population are Israeli-Arabs and many of them are identified as 'Palestinians'.. it's not that hard to find a Palestinian flag in an Israeli store, lol. Obviously waving it is disrespectful and offensive for many Israelis for obvious reasons, but it's not something THAT unusual to us. in Arab towns here you can see this flag pretty often. so again, learn a bit about Israel before you believe everything they tell you. Plus, 99.9% of the Israelis wouldn't give a shit even if someone walked in the street with a shirt that says 'fuck Israel' hahaha.
as for repercussions, like I said before! this flag is controversial and it's banned by Eurovision, not by Israel! get your facts right, there is no rule in Israel that ban ANY flag! it's a democracy.
A shame you guys didn't know that Palestinian flags are totally legal to fly in Israel You could have got one easily even in Tel Aviv.
So smuggling it out of Ramalla is not really smuggling and the soldiers would not have taken it from you. It is legal ( You broke Eurovision rules, not Israeli rules)
Secondly no one would have hurt you for this, Many Israelis want the occupation to end and hope and pray that the Palestinian leaders will lead their people to a two state solution which the majority of Israelis support. So, instead of shouting Free Palestine ( destroy Israel) I suggest if you really care, and I believe you do Encourage a peaceful solution.
You said, what i was thinking❤
They don't want to "destroy Israel", and they've been clear about that. In a different interview after the flag incident they said: "Nothing of what we have done or said during this journey has been with malevolence. We want the Israeli nation to know that we come out with hope, not hatred. Hope for both Israel and Palestine."
Checking your comment now, what do you think of Trump's action? It ruined everything

Hey, I’m only 13 and don’t really understand why the flag was a big deal, but I wanna understand. Where is Palestine and why was them holding the flag a big deal? I haven’t watched the video but I’m assuming I need to understand this before I watch it. I’m sorry if I’m stupid for not knowing this. I would appreciate if someone explained this. Thanks!
You're not stupid, you're smart actually! 99% of the people don't know anything about this conflict or even where Israel is located on the map, and they still express their meaningless opinion about it😂
I'll explain you, I'm sorry if it's too long but I need to explain the history of this land first:
Before 1948, the territory on which the State of Israel was established was occupied by various regimes throughout history (Romans, Ottomans, British) who gave this country the name "Palestina". In Palestina there were Jews, Arabs, and Christians and actually there was never independence for the people who lived there, because each time there was different regime that ruled it.
In 1948, the British, who ruled this land at that time, agreed to give independence to the people living there, if they would agree to divide it. One state for Jews, and one state for Arabs.
The Jews gladly accepted the offer, as it would finally be the first Jewish state after 2,000 years of exile. On the other hand, the Arabs didn't agree to it (even though they had an interest- gaining independence after years of harsh foreign regimes) and declared war on the same day. This war was joined by 7 Arab countries surrounding Israel (who didn't want a Jewish state to be established in the Middle East), but Israel won this war and managed to conquer the entire territory of this land. I will only note that this is how every country in history was established: There is war> one side loses and one side wins> the winner gets independence/territory.
The Arabs who lived here were divided into two: Arabs who remained in the State of Israel and received Israeli citizenship, and Arabs who began calling themselves 'Palestinians' in areas of Gaza and the West Bank, which were in the beginning under Israeli control but Israel left this territories as part of 'Oslo agreements', and nowdays
the Gaza strip is under control of 'Hamas', which is a terror organization, and the West Bank is under 'Palestinian Authority'.
Israel offered the Palestinians solutions to the conflict and offered them big percentages of Israel's territory just for peace, but they continue to reject any Israeli offer. it's basically a problem of both governments, I wouldn't say it's really about the people because there are many Arabs that still live in Israel, and they all live in peace.
Anyway, Palestinians do want to have their own state, but at the same time they don't recognize Israel, and they still call it "occupied Palestine", if you ask me it's stupid because it got independence by the UN, but for now the territories of Gaza and West bank are considered to be "Palestine". it's very controversial and most countries don't really accept it as an official independent country though.
So yes, waving a Palestinian flag in ISRAEL, out of all the countries in the world, is very disrespectful to many Israelis, since Israelis and Palestinians are basically enemies.
and also the palestinian flag is banned from Eurovision because it's so controversial.. so they were actually breaking eurovision rule by doing this.
I hope it was a good explanation, if you have any more questions feel free to ask me🤗
maya le
Oh, it makes sense now!
I was just really curious because when I watched this year’s Eurovision I instantly fell in love with Hatari (I really wanted them to win ;-;), and so when I found out about this controversy about that flag I wanted to know what the deal was with it.
