Cracking find!! Who'd have thought that in the early part of the 21st Century, Christopher would be scrutinising £2 coins and find an HG Wells !! The Martians are coming!!! 👽🛸
Ex used to work at a pawnbrokers and if people brought things in the shop didn't take such as silver for example they didn't take silver, lots of people seemed to act like it was worthless in general and just left it, I have a few collectors coins and a 1870s silver penknife and bits and pieces because when the customer was told "we don't take those" they just dumped them and went, might be similar for these newer coins if someone takes one to cash converters or something and they say nope we don't take those they might assume its worthless and just spend them.
Went to my local post office today, got out about £200 in £2 coins… most bags had one or two in but one bag had 8 commemoratives out of 10. As they were all “non sealed” bags I’m guessing a collector had cashed them in as the post office. One was even the 1998 Isle of Man rally coin… exciting
Is it easy to get coins from the post office or do you have to order them in?
@@aaronmccullough5867 depends have a few local some get funny if your not a business customer but some will happily give you all the coins you want (within reason). If you are wanting high amounts though it’s worth getting a business bank account and a change card with the post office so you can order ahead and then they have time to get it in and they get paid for it so they can cover their fees slightly more.

Pity the royal mint decided to honour marconi with a coin, rather than tesla, the actual inventor of wireless transmission who was finally credited in 1946.
The H G Wells coin is an amazing find but my favourite is the Great fire of London, such intricate details, just a stunning coin.
Good choice...I'm still waiting to get one of those.

Allegedly over 6m 2021 Britannia's and the first £2 coin you find from that year is the 4 legged TRI-pod amazing
Some folks also complained that "The Invisible Man" coin had the wrong hat...
