These look amazing but what kinda gets me is that Bachmann figured out how to get a decoder and speaker into their HO scale version of these engines but Lionel can’t make a compact version of their boards and speakers?
It’s because Lionel is more complicated than Bachmann
@@Brendanportieand Bachman does more ho stuff then Lionel does

Wow, those locomotives are gorgeous!
Here is something that I actually read: The correct name for the location of where the Golden Spike was hammered (and therefore where the National Historic Site is located) is actually Promontory Summit, not Promontory Point, which 35 miles to the south. The summit is the highest point of Promontory Pass. For some reason, the wrong location was reported in some records in 1869 and perpetuated throughout U.S. history.
This location is holy to train fans from all over the world.
The cars being pulled by 119 are simply gorgeous. The yellow paint offset by the black filigree railings makes a bold statement. I like 'em!
Thumbs up number 560, very cool video and train's, I'd be very honored to wear one of you cool shirts, absolutely love your trains and more so your layout, awesome work, Happy New Year to you and your family and all the best cheers 🍺🍻KC Cradle Mountain Tasmania Australia 🇦🇺🇦🇺🤝🇺🇸🇺🇸😎🙂👍✌❤❤❤
These are awesome! Your layout and collection of trains really is impressive! Thank you for sharing your hobby with us.
My favorite train sets so far
I take issue with the fact that the models are too small for a sound system. Legacy I accept, but HO scale models can put out excellent sound, to my mind equal to any Railsounds audio I've heard personally. I don't think it would have been too hard to fit an HO sized sound enclosure into these models.
I agree, literally some N scale models have sound systems, so these models aren’t too small at all
They could probably fit sound into it, but it would sound sub par. Better to put a full size speaker in the sound car
Them locomotives are a work of art beautiful 😍🤩❤❤
Fun Fact: Back in the 80s, there was a Peanuts special on the Transcontinental Railroad.
Charlie Brown was my introduction to the Transcontinental Railroad.
I’d love to see that! Great comment! -RTT
Hello from Kansas 🇺🇸
Great great great! I love them!
Hey just to let you know Promontory Point and Promontory Summit are two different places. Promontory Summit is where it happened.
Hola buen dia excelente video muy feliz año nuevo abrazo grande
Great video Eric! Awesome locomotives! Nice to go back in times! Thanks for sharing! Have a great and awesome day!
amazing eric
I have the Pensylvania engine and two passanger cars, because my wife wanted the green one. They are beautiful, and look even better in person. It's one of my favorites. I was hoping they would make a B&O engine & caboose, along with a few matching freight cars. It's a shame to let the tooling go to waste.
I thought those are/were BEAUTIFUL! If I knew just how stunning they were when I saw them in the catalog, I would've ordered one (a Pennsy!). Just stunning pieces. Thanks, Eric!
Nice set!
Very nice
They are sow cool
I keep seeing Jim and Artie hanging off the back of the train on another adventure in The Wild Wild West ....... 😁👍❤🇺🇸
very nice comrade
Finally got around to watch this. Nice work. Also it's Promontory Summit not Promontory Point.
Very nice looking locomotives and passenger cars Eric. Might have to show these to my wife! I think she will appreciate the colors and brass detailing! (i.e. not just another black steam engine... lol...)
As always, thank you for sharing!
Those trains are absolutely wonderful 🚂😎👍
🚂❤️❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍Awsum
They Re simply magnificent.
So crazy that you're showing this, just the other day I watched "Hell on Wheels" for the 20th time and I've been Googling these Locomotives to replicate. I'm trying to get my hands on a set. Thank you for the post and have a safe and happy New Year.
Wow Eric I been missing out on O scale those I would bought in heart beat . Those are amazing
I really wish I had gotten these. They are really cool!
Great video! Awesome trains, they look and sound amazing!
AWESOME locomotives and rolling stock, and by the way, the 2-10-10-2's just arrived and they are awesome, the blow down smoke on these locomotives is 10 times better than the visionline Big Boys, very exciting! Thanks bro!
Wow beautiful engines Eric!!!!
To be honest, I wish I could visit the Golden Spike National Historic Site someday. Great video btw!
Very nice Eric! I was able to get a UP 119 and it is a very nice locomotive.
Awesome video!!!
Very cool Eric. Thanks for sharing these awesome locos. Funny, Promontory Utah is just 25 min North of here. Cool if you are already in the area I suppose, but I recommend just watching the documentary. Nothing out there but the exhibit (Jupiter & 119 sheds,) a lot of desert and plenty of wind to go with it. A visit to the Cheyenne UP Steam shop & Roundhouse is a better use of a trip in my opinion.. just sayin. Cheers!
I would totally go to both in a heartbeat, funds willing.
beautiful locomotives!
The meeting of the east and west was actually at Promontory SUMMIT/
Holy cow that's amazing
They look really nice
I am very surprised that Lionel could not fit sound and smoke in a 4-4-0 American but they could do with a tiny 0-6-0 docksider
I've actually been to the golden spike national historic site
pretty locos.
I like the review. Did you hear about the new 2-10-10-2 mallet locomotive.
I wish I had the space for a model train layout.
The radio sound was a downer, sorry I just like historical accuracy, but Lionel made most of it up by having a very accurate whistle on both engines and also not forgetting to add a smoke stack to the passenger cars because back in those days... got to have a big open fire furnace for heat and to cook meals.
Your train collection is amazing in terms of the class of trains you have and in terms of cost. I am just trying to save up to buy one O-scale locomotive.
What time does the Live Show start on New Year's Day? I don't want to miss my chance at some of these fantastic giveaways! By the way, I'm from Central Time Zone - Thanks!
They're both great looking engines a plus to your collection it would had been great if they could have figured out a way to put a smoke unit in those👍👍
No.119 is Jefferson
Thumbs-up
Wow historical 4-6-0 steam engines of 19th century 150th anniversary of the transcontinental railroad
I understand the lack of space for a legacy system however I would say it's a bit dumb as if a dockside 0-4-0 in HO can have DCC and sound, they could put it in these 4-4-0s. And it would be beneficial for them to tool up a legacy board for these as they could use it in a line of legacy equipped tank engines and so forth.
They could probably fit it, but it would sound like crap. Better to put it in the sound car and get decent sound quality
Cool. But dispatcher chat on an 1860s locomotive?

Wow those are really beautiful engines and cars. Maybe you said it and I missed it but do they not puff smoke because of their size? It's funny seeing how much smaller they are coming out of the tunnels compared to your diesels.
Does lionel have the General and the Texas as a set. Would be awsome if they d8d
Not nit picking, but I think you put flip flopped the pax cars.
No smoke
At what time is the Live show gonna be on what time in Pacific Standard Time
So they can’t find sound into an o gage mode but they can do it in ho weird
What's up with the speakers on top of the train car
December 31 Golden spike celebration or what
Why does the coupler have to be so complex 😨
Do the engines not have smoke units as well?
No, they're too small for a real smoke unit.
Pretty decent sound set for TMCC. Sounded like you were quilling the whistle? -RTT
Do they make this in a B&O Road name?
How big is your layout?
Beautiful models but definitely could do without the sound effects car. Just my opinion. Happy 2022 everyone.
