I still remember when my mum with MS walked all the way to my house in tear telling me Pavarotti had passed...we watched him sing and reminisce on him. My mum adored him and said none can ever sing Nessum Dorma better...I agreed at the time...she passed away at the star of 2019 of compilation to MS....I know if she had seen this she would have said....I was wrong...the world creates and created a new person to hold the torch and he changed the end making it his own for the next generation...we just listened to the rebirth of the great and it evolved.

I love watching peoples reactions to his music, his interpretations and how he changes delivery of songs to make you want to say that's the way it should have been done the first time! 😉His cover of Disneys Mulan is one example. Or his take on Kiss from a rose. He also sings opera. (And his phantom of the opera series is incredible). He is so well trained, you dont know that he covers 1 turnshort of 4 octives in this performance. Effortlessly. Not even 3 or 4 humans on the planet can do that. Well, now, I'm a nearly-74-year-old grandma and great grandma, who has never sung this song in a traditional manner, though I've also never sung it in quite Dan's manner, either. However, my own mom, who is (was...she passed away in 2014) a wonderful concert violinist (who also loved bluegrass fiddle music, among other things), ALWAYS jazzed up "Amazing Grace." I'm a singer and musician myself, and I also love to whistle. I've been told my whistles sound like a violin, which isn't surprising, since I heard her play pretty much every day, all the time I was growing up. I've also played "Amazing Grace" on my silver cornet (and now on my trumpet that I bought a few years back). It's always the first thing I want to play, when I pick up an instrument---always has been. I have NEVER played it or sung it as a dreary "funeral dirge." I TOTALLY love everything about Dan's version. I listen to it at LEAST three times a day...sometimes more. 😀
