Now we're long distanced, Indonesia - US, so far away..... telling I love you and I miss you without seeing and touching each other is too hard to be true...... thanks though!

You’re both incredibly lucky! most people in long distance relationships can’t be with their partners, just reading the comments and also me personally. My flight was cancelled to see my boyfriend in three weeks, we came up with a contingency plan for him to drive up to me but now we’re on lockdown I can’t be with him. I live on my own 😭 so I’m incredibly isolated. FaceTime is a blessing but it’s like riding a wave with my anxiety. The family part and being stuck in another country is difficult, so I'm not saying anyone has it easy buuuuut you might be getting some outlash comments because many of us who are in LDRs are now in the position of also having no idea what's going to happen aaaaand we are having to deal with it while our partner is thousands of miles away, across borders which are now closed, and no definitive answer as to when we'll see our loved ones again. We're merely saying that we envy your position being able to go through this with your partner physically by your side. Mine and my partner's distance was months from finally coming to a close because their visa is processing and we had an endgame but now who knows. Would gladly take being in the same house during this time over what we are currently going through. Love to all ♥️

We put our K-1 Visa application in at the start of March. My Fiancée was supposed to fly from Kentucky to England next month. That's likely to not happen. The timeline for our visa is now up in the air, and I doubt I'll be over to get married in October. (October would normally have been more than enough time to get the Visa approved and move over to America).

There is a guy who predicted the corona virus back in 1981 his name is Dean Koontz he is still alive to this day at an age of 74. The book is called The Eyes of Darkness and he wrote that there was a doctor name "Li Chen" the Doctor in China who sadly passed away was named "Li" and something else, but not "Chien" but he wrote "They call the stuff 'Wuhan-400' because it was developed at their RDNA labs outside the city of Wuhan, and it was the four-hundredth viable strain of man-made microorganisms created at that research center." So not everything here is correct obviously, but the Wuhan is correct, and he also wrote "In around 2020 a severe pneumonia-like illness will spread throughout the globe, attacking the lungs and the bronchial tubes and resisting all known treatments”. That one is true, he also wrote that "Wuhan 400 is the perfect weapon" that it cant affect animals, which it kinda can. But Dean didnt predict 100% but still he got the "2020" part right and the city which is kinda creepy.

Just to let you know, I just came back from Europe to the US. The airports are not crowded as there are so many travel restrictions now (I got through in less than 30 minutes). Also, flights from the UK shouldn't be too expensive as most flights back to the US are flying through the UK anyhow. :) You can always go home and then visit the UK again if you want since there are still flights to and from the UK. Also, not many people on the flights from the UK to the US as only US citizens/permanent residents of the US can be on the plane, so there are plenty of open seats.

You are both great ! Thank you for sharing :) Monica, my advice to you without sounding negative is to head back to the United States since they ordered all their citizens to return and USA travel advise is now on a level 4 Do Not Travel. Do you have healthcare in the UK? You may also risk an overstay when you apply for marriage residency in future - and if the UK immigration know that the USA advised its citizens to return home due to a global health crisis, and you ignored the advice, you may risk an overstay and may need an immigration lawyer at some point to support your application down the line if you face future problems. For the sake of a clean immigration record with UK tourist obligations, you should go back to the USA to avoid problems in future and just believe you will both see each other again, or risk an overstay which will be on your record because if you surpass your stay beyond the timeframe, you have committed an overstayed on your tourist visa. All the best love

I feel like the grown up thing to do is go home. I’m 22 years old and realized i’m putting a lot of things at risk by staying. Unfortunately i’m not as nearly as privileged as the either of you, so i took out a loan to book my flight home. The sooner people do what the government advises the sooner this goes away. The nice part is as well as being together during this global travel ban, you both have visa-free access (90 days to the US on the visa waiver program, 180 to the UK) to each other's countries as US and UK citizens respectively. I am Taiwanese and my partner is Vietnamese. We've been in a LDR 3 months. I can visit her country easier than she can visit mine, but we both need visas for each others' countries. I (TW citizen) can get 3-month multiple entry visas on arrival to Vietnam, while Taiwan will only allow her as a VN citizen to see me for 14 days on a tourist visa, which is only good a single time and she has to apply for a new visa every time she wants to visit Taiwan. Moreover, both our governments banned foreigners from entering due to this disease. Unfortunately, our LDR has been dying down the past few days. It used to be daily messaging and video calls, from our last visit. For the last 4-5 days, she's been either giving me one-word answers or not responding at all. I have no choice but to wait for her reply, as she's been unusually quiet. The responses I receive from her are now reduced to "I'm busy [with work]", "I'm sick", or "bad headache", or "stressed out because I'm losing my job". Any advice?
By the way, rejoice every day because your countries' visa requirements are far easier, and that you are both physically together!

I "met" my ldr girlfriend on a dating website, 6 months ago, around the time that my dad passed away, her dad passed away 3 years before. The funny thing about how our relationship started was I was giving up on finding anyone, online or offline. And i was sharing my experience through my profile of what to look out for if a scammer contacts you on the dating sites. My gf messaged me telling me she appreciated my tips. I was unsure if she was real or not. She is from Brazil and very very attractive, so i had my suspicions. Seemed qtoo gqood to be true, and you know what they say about that. It took a long time and a lot of patience on both our parts , time reveals a lot. We have a lot in common. But we have some differences too. We are bipolar opposites attract type couple, literally! Our birthdays are even exactly 6 months apart on the day! We have a language barrier we are working on online, our economic status is rough on both sides. And now this whole plannedemic (yes it is planned) has put a big hold on her even trying to earn money for her family, let alone to come see me so we can see if it is a real thing between us. We have been able to slowly get to know each other on many levels. But there have been some hardships and we almost broke it off a couple times, but we worked it out and we just continue to tutor each other with language lessons i am learning Portuguese and her, English, this is what helps bond us, but i think although with my suspicions initially,, we always had a certain connection besides visual attraction. We have a lot of laughs together learning each others language. It is hard to share some intimate moments while her children are in the house, but we find ways to keep it fresh as we possibly can. We Do little nice gestures for each other. But the one thing that is driving us both crazy is that we can't touch each other and hold each other. I want this more than anything, but my circumstances do not make it possible, even before the #plannedemic, to travel to her, and hers were rough to come see me. Yet we are still together and in love. We just want to be together now. We even wrote physical postal letters to each other, to try to have that connection that at least we can touch what the other had their hands on. This further helped create a stronger bond. We have written a second physical letter, getting ready to send. We have no idea how long it will take to receive it. But worth the effort! Especially in the digital age where texting is popular. You might be able to see and hear, but touch and smell are left out. I can feel her in her letter that she touched. If we are together like this after even a year, i would say that alone shows a true commitment and bond between us.

Sadly, even being married doesn’t necessarily help. My husband and I are currently separated due to this B.S., and even though I’m technically excluded from the U.S. travel ban, and he is technically excluded from the European travel ban, our visas/ESTAs/Travel documents for the respective countries both got revoked the second the travel bans took effect. Getting a new visa for both respective countries is currently impossible, both countries have stopped processing all kinds of visas all together, and consulates/embassies run on reduced hours and are emergencies (as in death or crime related instances regarding citizens) only. No chance of getting anyone on the phone or an appointment for either of us. I was literally about to board a plane when they revoked my esta, and security personnel had to escort me out of the plane and back through security out of the airport. Knowing that I was this close is so frustrating. I would’ve had the chance to fly a day earlier, hence avoiding the travel ban, for an upgrade onto a business seat though. Since I didn’t just have 2k to spend on such notice out out of pocket, that wasn’t possible....to say both my husband and me are absolutely heartbroken and furious would be an understatement. I am praying this B.S. is actually over April 30th, but the analytical part of my brain is telling me otherwise....here’s to hoping!

You need to consider health insurance when deciding whether to return to the US or not.

i said i wouldn't do long distance again and then I met someone at. uni - I live in surrey and he lives in north wales, and we have been spending almost every day together for 2 months - then when the lockdown was announced on Monday, we thought we had 4 more days together and suddenly there were 2 hours and we had to go. i was worried about getting trapped away from my family but at the same time wanted to be with him; its a very difficult situation and I hope you're both doing ok xxx
