Hi Jonathan, thank you for the review. Lovely guitar. I have the Harley Benton version of this guitar and to be honest, I think if you do a blind test, you don't hear the difference. Mine has TOL inlays as well. Unbelievable value for €220.
Basically PRS QC process costs you about 700 $$$.

Great vintage tone, excellent for Blues and Jazz. Not that cheap for an SE? The Solid body SE Custom 24 is a lot cheaper. I got one used half price in new condition. The workmanship is flawless, it's quite unique sounding, hard to explain, it's sort of in between jazzy and hard rock tone. Thanks for the Demo Jonathan!!

I played an SE about 10 years ago and liked the pickups and playability but not enough to lay down hard cash for one. I'm just not sure they have the mojo factor. But they certainly look the part!

Very pretty and good sounding guitar. I would love to own a PRS but I am having fun buying chea.... uh... affordable guitars for the moment. I could buy about 4 with PRS money! The guitars change but the awesome playing never does!

The SE are around 600.00. The SE stands for student addition. I have a strat style that is pretty nice.

I decided a while ago that I would like to experience something similar and got the "dog pound edition" (to borrow a phrase) and have the Harley CST-24HB coming, after some choice touch-up by their technical team. I figured if I ordered the Plek nut work alongside, it would mean they could then place it in a guitar case I ordered alongside, and that will help survive the inter-continental trip better.
I have never had a semi-hollow like this, so looking to see what a neophyte like me can experience from it.

@@jitsroller I do not wish to disrespect or hijack this video's topic, but I owe you an update.
The CST-24HB Tortoise Flame has arrived and it looks flawless. I am still working through the day, but I needed to know if travel had done anything wrong, so opened the box and checked few things.
In short, intonation and frets are perfect. I see nothing on the colour or binding that would make me question the work. Given I had the Plek nut work done, I chose to have them install the locking tuners and the upgraded bridge I would have, so I ordered it alongside (HB Locking Tuners, TonePros AVT2M CH, NYXL1046 strings) and got a very reasonable custom quote from Thomann's Guitar team for all that effort. I can confirm that the bridge upgrade looks to have fit perfectly.
Wish I had enough talent to record something to show this off, but I am learner and I won't do it justice. But I can say the body doesn't ring as bright as some of the hollow-bodies I have noodled on before, but it is still a slim guitar. I will report on the pickups and any other items I notice later.

I think it's just mahogany sides with a maple top and back.. Mahogany back and maple top would make it a Hollowbody I, at least with the Core line.
Personally I find the 58/15 S to be too hot, at least at the neck. I think the 58/15lt-S to be a better set to go with. I'd probably drop the neck pickup a bit and raise the screw poles back up to get some more clarity.

Perfect playing as usual! Nice guitar but I'll stay with the HB CST 24; it offers the same incl. split coil, looks and sounds quite similar but is affordable and the little rest is a thing of EQ! LOL, Thx and stay well ☮️

Did you play the laminated mahogany top SE Hollowbody Standard? I'm wondering if one stands out as having better tone? the laminated mahogany standard seems to have rounder more meaty notes, this one thinner.

@@DenisAhmet From what I understand the block is only under the bridge, not the pickup, making it a true hollow body, not a semi-hollow.

@@JonIsJustTooLoud As far as I can find info on there's no such thing as a PRS SE Semi-Hollowbody II. But Semi Hollow II is what was printed on screen at the beginning of the video while it being said at the beginning also. So I find it confusing.
