Rock is not a popular genre in South Korea. Even Dreamcatcher who is nor a rock band is more popular overseas than in its own country. The members of RQ could play Japanese-style metal, they have the skills. I have a few videos of the members, especially Iree doing covers of J-rock pieces but in Korea that style just would not get them anywhere. I think they are just take it slow, but if you check their music from Delight and Blaze, Azalea, Rock n’ Roll Paradise and the latest Fearless they getting harder with every new release. Just for fun you should check out their MV Pink Drop, you will love it.

They have a decent following in Korea now ... K-rock is a thing ... bands like Uni, DIH, Walking After U ... even old skool punk with Crying Nut or No Brain ... or new age punk like the Rumkicks getting international attention ... Korea is no longer just the land of pop.

@@PANIC_aka_PinD thanks for the reply, appreciate it. Rock is an interesting subject in Korea. As I grew up with rock, it is absolutely my style of music, the only Asian rock band I knew of was Bohwal, most likely due to their European tour during the 80s. They used to play pretty hard metal at the start of their career. With the rise of pop’s popularity their audience shrunk, they almost disappeared when they decided to change their genre to ‘soft rock, rock ballads’, they are still the longest performing rock band in Korea. They are good, but nothing like the current wave of J-rock. Honestly I really hope that the current emerging Korean rock bands would succeed in ‘keeping rock alive’.
Thanks again for your reply, cheers

@clintashcraft579 you know why I made that mistake because I am constantly being told that we are living on a dying planet I think I've been brainwashed.
