They also did a great cover of "With or Without You" by U2, but their originals are awesome. Lead singer, Amanda, is a clinical psychologist and a lot of their songs have strong messages of healing and empowerment. Plus they flat-out ROCK!

Oh boy… The Asking Alexandria version is much more better. Their singer didnt put unnecessary “ooohhh”s to every part where she did.

It's harder now than back then to make it. My brother was in a band in the 80s that was as good or better than most rock bands out there, but it's who ya know. These guys are awesome, but like @lynnritchie said, ppl don't want to sing these bands, even tho they rock. 😕

because they don't do anything special, "hey guys have you heard that awesome cover that came out by disturbed, well we are going to sing it the same way but with a female vocal. Hey remember that Daughtry cover of Journey, well watch us do it the same way too" This is basically a Karaoke band.
Holy Hell. I am 65, seen all the 70s bands, Neil Schoen lives in Minneapolis, my home town. From 78 to 86 , no one bestted Journey for FM rock.
This cover by EVA by Fire is absolutely outstanding.

She's not only beautiful. But actually has a voice.And her musicians especially that drummer are incredible.
You know, a lot of the time, the problem with people covering this song is that it's really, really difficult to make it "yours," especially vocally, compared to Steve Perry's original vocal tracks. But Eva does a fantastic job of not only not trying to oversell where the song is so structurally strong originally, but of accentuating her own strengths.
The changes to the arrangement are also really well done, too!
Hands down; the greatest cover of Journey Separate Ways ever.

I was just transported to the 80's listening to my cassettes from Columbia House, best cover of this song I have heard.
Holy crap, love this cover! I've always loved this song anyways. Love the vocals and effects. Guitars are ripping, and drummers slugin it out like it's supposed to be, snare sounds great, whole kit! You all picked a winner and did a great job with it!

Let me preface by saying that I don't like covers. Call me a purest, whatever, I don't care. 9/10 covers never hold up to the original. But once in a blue moon, something like this comes along and I am blown away. amazing job you guys. I like to think Steve Perry would be proud.
I’m officially impressed!!! Very well done. Journey’s version is good but I really do like the way Eva Under Fire adds a twist to it and definitely owns this song!
Damn good version with updated music. Steve Perry is an impossible act to follow and was probably one of the greatest vocalists of all time without any effects or mixing, even live. Would've loved to hear this band make it more their own, in the same vane as Godsmack did Riders of the Storm.
It's very rare for a cover to be its own and keep the groove and feel of the original. Very well done.

What makes this song stand out, besides everything, is the use of the third in the D chord in the chorus. Completely changes the dynamic. Musicians will understand.

Class of 1980 here. This performance is Par Excellence. The band is crushing it. A seamless wall of driving rock 'n' roll energy. The vocalist ("Eva" I presume) delivers in a major way. Reminds me of early Joan Jett energy. Never quite "shattering the vocal stratosphere", in no way does that make it any less of a tour de force. Lead guitar licks were sic. Being as picky as it gets (re: classic 1970s rock), I give this a legit 9.9 out of 10. I'd be interested to see how this band handles "Barracuda" by Heart...

As I agree, this is a decent cover. I don't think it blows Lizzy Hale and Chris Daughtry version away. Where theirs was a duet, this one was not. I personally love Lizzy and Chris's version better. I think it comes down to taste.

Been hearing this version on Octane on Sirius XM. She has one of the best female rock voices out there. Right up there with Lizzy Hale and Amy Lee. She would be phenomenal doing a duet with Chris Daughtry.
They opened for Halestorm last September. Great band and great people. Met them through a mutual in Austin several years back.

What I love most about this cover is it is so very respectful of the original feel of the song, it's like the original with a splash of modern rock on top. I always love a more upbeat cover of a classic with more double peddle, heavy distortion, and screaming but man, this is top tier!

My respect to the singer and to the band
I find that if you appreciate a singer doing a song, instead of comparing the song AND SINGER against who did it first, you tend to appreciate it better. Nobody thinks anyone can sing better than Steve Perry. He is one of the greatest voices, EVER!
Yet, this song is well done by this lady, Daughtry did it with a female named Lzzy Hale. Excellent.. Lambert did a rearraingment of Cher/s Believe, and brought the house down. and Cher to her feet. There are many who do a song justice. Now I have to look this band up, never heard of her.
