- In Ancient Greek mythology, Prometheus was not only the Titan god of fire and forethought but also a benefactor of humanity. Unlike many deities who manipulated mortals for selfish gains, Prometheus felt empathy for humanity and made tremendous sacrifices to protect them from the wrath of the gods. Though Prometheus suffered for his allegiance to humans, his story contains a powerful message that resonates to this day.

Wonderful stuff! The myth of Prometheus is one of my favorites as he was one of the few gods that was unflinching in his devotion to humanity.
The reason I like Prometheus is that he didn’t steal The Flame of Olympus out of spite but out of love. He was being selfless and got punished for it
No good deed goes unpunished.
Prometheus makes man out of clay. Enki makes man out of clay. Khnum make man out of clay. All are associated with water. All have brothers. Each culture appears to tell the story from a different angle.
I may have heard, read and seen this myth like 5 times by now, but as Prometheus is objectively the greatest and most awesomest entity of greek mythology, I can't force myself to miss out on yet another take on this.
I must say the story of Prometheus is pretty lit 🔥
But the ending is pretty gut wrenching.

Do more mythology. There is so much that goes unappreciated. the fennel stalk part is especially interesting. From what I understand, before Man knew how to create fire, he had to carry it around everywhere, isn't that right? After all, why wouldn't humanity be able to create fire themselves? Why in the story, did it need to be carried down from the mountain? This story might be an especially old throwback to that time.

Prometheus isn't the god of fire. If he was he wouldn't have to steal it. He is just a turncoat, who betrayed his own nature by not having the forethought to NOT leave all the gifts with his twin - Epimetheus (a bad move that even I foresaw when I first heard the story).
Further, publicly tricking Zeus is 'foreseeably' un-wise and wasn't for anything huge - the best parts of one animal during special feasts. That's nothing compared to Pandora's box/jar.
He's not a hero, nor god of fire, and seemingly not the god of forethought either.
Man the misanthropes are really out in force.

Consider this if Zeus steals fire from humans but humans do not die because of it. How is that possibly worse than having the fire, having the science, stealing the religion if all it amounts to is unleashing all the evils of the world? The whole moral of the story is NOT about how cruel gods torture people, rather, how in the pursuit of riches we end up harming ourselves and others.

Promethus created MAN as in the Males. Women were created by the collective cooperation of the Gods as a punishment and curse to Men because anicent Greeks hated women. Its weird that even eternal Male Gods like Zeus needed female Goddess like Hera but Promethous didn't see the need to create woman for the mortal men he created. Promethous idea of a perfect race was a group of celibate Incel males with no women. I'm sure he knew what a perfect woman looked like when he interacted with Goddesses such as Athena and Aphrodite but he felt no need to create women to be with his own perfect creation?
