Harry and Eve Graham are in the process of adopting a baby when the head of the adoption agency becomes suspicious of Harry's frequent trips from San Francisco to Los Angeles. Investigating further, the agent discovers that Harry has a second life in LA, complete with another wife and a newborn child. Confronted with the truth, Harry reveals through flashbacks the series of events that led him to live a double life, caught between two marriages and the secrets that could unravel them both.

Much enjoyed this 1953 movie. (The Bigamist) Ida Lupino directed and was one of the wives in the movie. She was excellent as were all the other actors. The adoption investigator was a great fit for the part. This movie held my attention to the end, due to it being so unusual and different. The budget for the movie was only $50,000.00. and the acting and the story were excellent!

Maintained my interest all the way through. Loved the on location shots, the outfits and the way the movie went back and forth to San Fran and L.A. I always knew where Harry was and never got the story mixed up. Great writing and pacing,

He did! And that’s because the adoption agent (Edmund Gwenn) played Santa in Miracle on 34th st.(1947). The tour bus driver also mentions this as they’re driving by celebrities homes in Beverly Hills.

I was done with him in scene 1 when they were talking to the adoption agent. I couldn’t even feel bad for his character cuz he came off so badly. Where he’s supposed to have constant anxiety/worry, he seems annoyed and inconvenienced. I would’ve told them no just by his attitude 😂

Great movie really enjoyed watching it as the wife hasn't been slept with him they are in separate beds only a wait to happen
The ending needed fir these two women to get tighter fir baby's sake and the one he picks should be his real wife as he's not married legally to his mistress

Never a fan of Ed O'Brien..acting always seem forced, not smooth..never found his characters believable
