Really good tips most of these I already throw. So far this year in my neighborhood lake about 40 acres I've been catching fish on Zoom Trick Worms yellow and bubble gum color. I also throw Zoom Super Flukes, jigs, rattletraps, torpedo's catch a good many fish on willow leaf spinner baits. I've been catching bass since I was 5 I'm 41 now learned how to use a baitcaster at 7. I've never owned a rod over 6 and a half feet. It seems like 7 foot plus is the new standard. I think when i do pick up a new rod it will be in the 7ft range for mainly jig fishing as its my all time favorite lure.

Up here in 50 early April good tips..shallow think is really name of game if you want the big girls ..noticed most lakes the big ones will push back first so I been ripping lips half way back on coves and some already pushed back in 55/57 degree waters…been a great spring so far for ky around lakes..I wouldn’t forget a jig/chatterbait as well as the spinner bait but much agreed with most the baits there are tied on or some similar brand or type! Love top water when they get pushed back under 3 ft in my murky lake to pickwick I’ve nailed em on top
Water under 60 long as u got a strong warm trend and the bass are shallow as heck it’ll work!!

Central FL and I find beds in ultra clear lakes 8 to 12 feet deep in the wide open always on sand bottom mixed with eelgrass and hydrilla. I find the 1/4 oz screw lock jig heads and a 6 inch magic wand stands that worm up on the bed and they get agitated with fairly quickly

I like most topwater double prop baits but it seems like the devil's horse is one of those things that when it was made it was the pinnacle and it just isn't making anything better. Of course I'm almost 50 and I've gathered so much confidence fishing at devil's horse over the years since I was in high school. Basically the same concept though I'm sure there's been probably remarkable improvements in the double prop and I'm probably just stuck in my ways. I saw Bobby Lane destroy it with the one that Matt's talking about

I wasn't sure if that was true but he sure did put a lot of confidence into the devil's horse which in turn so did I because I started catching a lot of fish on it too. That's what I was explained. Predator lures are best for bank/bed bass fishing.... easy bait, with protein for males texas rig crawfish and such are king.

Throw it on anything. Yes sir. A lot of BS around you have to have this length and action / power of Rod to throw this bait. Not at all. I've been fishing for 34 years. (That's not my age) that's adjusted for starting when I did. You can throw anything on any road you want. I fish with a lot of guys who have to have a different rod for every kind of bait they throw. Not that i don't have more than one rod. when I'm the boat I have at least eight. Just goes to show you can throw any bait on any rod you want and you don't suffer for it

The popularity of bass fishing has really made it a little less fun this last year for me personally. With the advancing tech and surging popularity. Balancing that with a love of nature becomes conflicting. I’m getting into trout fishing more. I can take it as far away from people as possible whereas bass fishing is crowded boat ramps and tournament pressure. I would hope eventually they start stocking bass on lakes like they do trout. I’m taking April off bass cuz I just think one less fish ripped off a bed will serve me better long term
