They nearly always use the cheapest felt there is on sheds to keep costs down. I have had same problem with two sheds. One I replaced with EPDM, the other a small shed I used Cromapol as soon as I got the shed and despite 3 coats it still leaked. In the end I used a large roll of Bostik flashband and that stopped the leaks

Totally agree, although I thought we might have got a little bit more life out of it than 18 months or so 😞 Didn't know about Cromapol - looks similar to the Evercryl but slightly lower cost. I suspect I'm just going to end up re-felting it with a better quality felt in the summer, but just wanted to hopefully get a quick repair done in between the (almost) continual rain .... Cheers!

Meant to say ... will also take a look at EPDM option although suspect that will be significantly more expensive??

@@handyman-at-home I dont think its that much more than good felt your looking around £50 for a decent one a roll and last around 15 years. EPDM lasts over 25 years and you can easily patch it up if you get a hole just like a tyre

Thanks. Is the waterproofing still working?

Hi, Yes - still working, although I did end up giving it an additional coat a few days after the video was filmed, as there was still a little bit of water getting through in one spot. After that however, it's been fine. I will probably end up replacing the felt completely either before the end of this year, or if not, then certainly next year. They use really thin felt on these pre-manufactured sheds (the shed itself is great). Cheers, Chris

Fair point - Mea Culpa 🤣 At first it looked like it had completely cured the leak, but then after some very heavy rain I noticed a very small damp patch in just one localised spot. Ended up giving the stripes another coat, and it's been fine ever since. I suspect that the holes from one or two staples in the felt hadn't been thoroughly blocked up by the first coat. Cheers, Chris
