    Something a little different this week :) Apologise for the horrible handwriting. I didn't realise how hard it is to write with a Wacom in Figma.

      Hey Mizko, i loved your vids, can i ask you something? Can figma have an interactive map like Apple phone? Zooming from earth to ground, see 3D buildings and points in location and with rotation ability? So far i can see from other youtubers are just screenshots from mapsickle. And zoom in and out with animation. Is that the limitation of Figma at the moment? Or i have to link the map from another source to achieve this type of uses that i mention?

    Mizko really out here tackling the right questions. I like to call ourselves interdisciplinary designers since we’re never satisfied with just one field. We always find a way to link one field with another e.g business-research-UI. Cheers to us, cheers to the future!

    Great points. I was just laid off from my UX Research position with a Fortune 500 company back in March, and have been struggling to find my next role since. I've been looking exclusively for UX Research, UX Design, and Product Design roles. But hearing you talk about how you don't consider yourself a UX Designer, but rather you have UX Design skills among others, is encouraging. I guess I could also look at expanding my own skillset beyond UX Research and UX Design, and strengthen my skills in marketing, data analysis, maybe even sales, or other areas. Thanks Mizko for yet another thought provoking video!😎

    I believe that AI will not replace UX designers (at least in the near future). Can AI express empathy towards other people to design a great product for them? Not sure, that it's possible at all. A large number of people can not do that either, what to say about AI :) Thank you so much, Mizko, for creating valuable content!

    AI will reduce the number of UI/UX designers needed; thus companies will hire only one or two people who can utilize AI efficiently. Why need a team of designers when one person can use AI to do the same, maybe even better, job?
    I also believe some jobs will be merging. Now that AI can take care of tasks like writing and graphic and UI design, there need to be more tasks that the designer has to do to produce some value for the company. Thus, companies will combine marketing and designers or even designers and engineers to take care of their digital presence.

    If you are all so afraid of AI, then go work at McDonald's, Walmart, factory, construction, etc. We should not stop now, if AI starts to replace everything, it will replace absolutely all of the sulfur that is related to the Internet, and most likely even those areas that require physical action, our best solution is to just keep doing what we like and what benefits us at the moment, and guessing what if anything will happen in the future is just pointless. Jobs and demand for designers didn't disappear at the snap of a finger after midjourney, better use all these tools to maximize your UI and make designs even better. Best wishes to you all

    Hello there, great video, idk if we have a discord server or somewhere where i can my questions, i bought the course and the design system, now my question is, when you work your project in Figma where the design system is yes, after you finish and you send the figma link to the company or developer, are they able to see all that design system? If yes is there a problem with that or you can send only the figma page with the project?

    The problem of ai is that it's becoming extremely good at processing data (basically learning skills) and improving itself.
    I think that society would need to make a big shift in some ways if we don't want to make life really thought for a vast majority.

    After watching this video over 3 times, I've come to the conclusion that if you're just starting your design career journey, you've either made it in the nick of time or might be too late to use design as a launch pad for the rest of your career based on everything Michael said. I say that because, if AI becomes as good as we think it will, Design will no longer be a highly valuable skill, unlike when Michael started out.
    As for my takeaways, if you've been in the game for 5 years at least, you probably have the connections you'll need to propel yourself into a better career if AI replaces you in the near future.
    If you started out 2 years ago, you probably have enough time to find those connections in the next few years (if you're lucky) to set yourself up for when AI replaces us, as long as you're decently talented and hard-working.
    But if you're starting out right now... man I don't know, you might just want to get into development or something just to be safe. Might be too late. Dev is not for everybody though (I tried my hand and I hated it), so I have no idea where designers like that will be soon.

    • @Mizko
      @Mizko  Před rokem +7

      Good try AJ but you missed the entire premise of the message 🙃
      Let me re-frame for you.
      Now let’s say AI doesn’t replace us, that’s the net win for everyone and we don’t need to answer that.
      On the other hand if AI can replace UX design entirely, it will replace everything else.
      If that is the result, my point is how do you optimise your decision today for the best possible outcome?
      I’m also considering marginal improvements, because it compounds over the years.
      In my opinion It’s working as close to the technology as possible; UX design is one of them. You build the skills and meet the people that will define the next era.
      It’s NOT turning people away from roles that work directly with the technology.
      Hope that makes sense.

    • @AJ-yj6kd
      @AJ-yj6kd Před rokem

      @@Mizko Can you clarify what you mean by everything else?
      You mentioned marginal improvements compounding over the years, but with AI don't you think that window is a lot shorter now for beginners. Do you believe UX design is a valuable enough skill to get you into that next era within this short window? If yes, then that's awesome cuz everything design is my main focus right now. But if not, you should probably focus on other things no? That would be the less risky option

    • @Mizko
      @Mizko  Před rokem +4

      @@AJ-yj6kd Great questions.
      AJ, I think you're missing the premise of this video, because you're still isolating the title 'UX Designer'.
      You're still seeing 'being a UX Designer' as a narrow set of skills. Think beyond that.
      1. AI right now is just accelerating the learning curve of new knowledge and skills for us.
      2. It's not that UX Design is a valuable skillset (however with that said, it is if you know how to leverage it correctly), it's the opportunities we are opened to, the parallel understandings and skillsets we build and the relationships we form during this time that's HIGHLY valuable and will lead us into the next era.
      Does that make sense?

  • @obvinpro
    @obvinpro Před rokem +2

    Ai will slowly replace all those skills you mentioned before 2029. You can automate *a lot* with ChatGPT plugin and M365 will be there to take care of other tasks. We're not safe. We don't know what the future of work will look like.

    • @gustavklimskii4836
      @gustavklimskii4836 Před rokem +1

    i want to become ui/ux designer because i feel i can share product idea and concept easily rather than other fields in tech, and with AI it makes what we call generalize into more specialize than past few years or decades. but still im still afraid to join this field. in my opinion 3d fields will be a good choice to join.

    • @Mizko
      @Mizko  Před rokem

      Exactly, and if we optimise our decisions today to work closely with the technology and we grow with it, we are already significantly leveraged over others who have no idea what's going on.
      I think a lot of people struggle to conceptualise this idea.
