    I picked up very quick she came across as very worried, and stressed, and stress in itself can cause pain in different parts of the body. I am delighted that her Mri showed all is good with her back and neck. The help you gave her will make a big difference and take a lot of her stress away and hopefully, she will start to feel good in herself.😊😊

    @bestpracticehealth I have watched a lot of these videos and what’s the most remarkable thing is that you listen to people. Sometimes you just need to get it out and feel heard by a doctor and most act like they don’t have the time to listen and you’re being a bother. You offer a gift to people just by listening.

      Awh! Thanks so much. I really appreciate that. Time is a big issue in medical practice today. I'm hoping new AI tools will allow doctor to spend more time listening and less time documenting. It is very important to me to be a good listener. Thanks for noticing. That's very sweet.

    Excellent advise. I hope she follows it and does well. Beautiful MRI. Wish I had a back that looks like that.

    It's amazing so many of us with injuries or various pains spend so much energy trying to find a "reason" for why we have them. With over 20 surgical procedures myself I have blamed being a contortionist since I was 5 years old along with being a professional dancer, multiple car accidents and severe falls, lifting patients for over 35 years, etc! It doesn't matter "why"! it just uses up too much energy unnecessarily, better to focus on the actual issue and how best to deal with it, so I could relate to her analytical tendencies. Btw, I was supposed to have a transpositional surgery for my ulnar nerve after EMG but chickened out after talking to someone who ended up worse after his surgery but to this day I have to sleep with my elbows at no more than 30 degrees flexion at night or I wake up with numb hands - you pointing out to her about leaning on that elbow was important, am hoping she follows up on your suggestion. Also Doctor - your wife is very lucky to have a surgeon husband who is so empathetic with obviously a great bedside manner as the nature of the job of a surgeon tends to lean essentially left brained due to the technical requirements, rare to have both!👍

    Everything she's dealing with is exactly what I am dealing with...with hips they said I have labrum tears and need arthroscopy for labrum tairs...

      I"m sorry to hear that! Make sure you find a surgeon who specializes in labral tears and does a lot of them (more than 50) each year.

      Maybe is just a weak gluteus medius muscle making the hips drop to one side causing issues

    Hey Doctor, how come microdiscectomy procedures are still done when endoscopic discectomy is so much less invasive?

    • @BestPracticeHealth
      @BestPracticeHealth  Pƙed rokem +1

      It depends on where the herniated disc is located. Microdiscectomy is better for discs that are inside the spinal canal. Endoscopy is better for discs that are outside the spinal canal (far lateral). Endoscopy is preferred because it's less invasive, but 95% of the discs are inside the spinal canal and very hard to reach with an endoscope.

      @@BestPracticeHealth Mine is foraminal. Great explanation. If you have a protrusion that hasn't broken through all the way, sequestrated, won't the crab meat just stay in the annulus forever?
